IT'S FINALLY HERE!!

HARUKA

Finally!!!!!

Julia

I’ve been patiently waiting all week !!! 😫

HARUKA

KOKO and YUI are former XGALX trainees

Lecia

So excited for this journey!!

Lecia

Oh get ready for the way these producers try to evil edit Jiyoon. Them skipping her profile was just the start 😡

jessie

Here we gooooooo!!😁 thanks so much for doing this

WiseSmellyLegs

Regarding your question Jeemin leaving HYBE or being cut… Don’t all trainees after a survival show leave the company? (If it is an in-house survival show). Not that they are told to leave, but it is obvious they would have to wait many years for a new group under that company, so they rather try their luck elsewhere. I assume in this case of Hybe Labels, she could have transfered from Belift Lab to another label, but I am not sure if any girl group is being prepared right now and also it is usually HYBE asking the contestants to stay/transfer as in the case of &Team and now 24Kumi (upcoming brother group to &Team with Gaku and a few more &Audition members)

DG

Koko geing a former Xgalx trainee makes so much sense looool

Neeko

Lol I'm cackling at Wakeone being the dark entity hovering over

Neeko

Also I'm so glad to be rewatching this with you so I can be onboard the Saebi train again!

Handsome Hayeon Can't Hurt You

oh wow.....Im surprised you don't know who Leejung is. I guess you never watched the variety show Hyemileeyechaepa with Hyeri, Miyeon, leejung, yena, chaewon, and patricia.

Handsome Hayeon Can't Hurt You

I do find it funny that both in S1 with Namkoong Min and S2 with Song Kang, it was extremely obvious they literally went into a studio for a day and recorded all their bits and were done (Song Kang basically recorded them and immediately left for army duty. When it aired, he was already serving)

WiseSmellyLegs

1:32:10 - They just wanted to make it dramatic that Jeemin might not be the obvious pick for them just because of her popularity from R U Next? But then they bring it (her being eliminated in R U Next? and this being her second chance) SO MANY times to make fans like her and vote for her, so I do not know what was their deal in this specific case

Donatella

you saying that jungeun will debut already from the beginning is so real, because it is what happened, she was that trainee that from the start fans knew she would debut bc HOW IS SHE SO TALENTED

onlyonlysun

yeah.... i have a BIGGGGGG problem with how much izna's debut did not feature jungeun like it should have. she's their best vocalist and second best dancer, she's very popular, and she gets barely any time to shine in their debut track. like COME ON....

Brisingr

PD has actually seen Leejung before. She was on Baymon's 'Last Evaluation' series.

RoNNieTP

He was supposed to watch it around beginning of 2024 or something around that time (I remember I see schedule about it from that month cmiiw) but it got postponed for multiple reasons

RoNNieTP

Not necessarily every case all the time. Ikon was created after they lost to debut against Winner in just only a year (but to be fair, YG himself preferred Ikon more than Winner so it’s not a surprise he wanted members to debut) Chaeryeong also waited 4 years after SIXTEEN ended to finally debut in ITZY, Somi also would have too as she was supposed to be in the lineup also but left the company herself to join Black label. But yep, most of the time it’s hard for a failed-to-debut contestant to stay in the very same company and be patient enough to wait for another groups debut.

RoNNieTP

It supposed to build some tensions to her fans (which she has a lot from her RUNext day) that she isn’t a 100% guarantee choo-in spot for the group to make their fans not letting her guard down. It’s to create some suspense and drama for the program and have Jeemin’s fans still keep engaging to the show. It’s a common strategy to use to make a popular contestant to have some struggle on their survival show journey and not a flower pathway to the debut. (Even though 95% of the case, their spots are pretty much locked in since the start). Jeemin had it, CLC Yujin had it, Sakura had it, even Somi had it,

WiseSmellyLegs

Hmm… the example of Sixteen is a good one! The thing with iKON is that I think YG intentionally wanted to debut two boy groups because of the hype and growth they had after BIGBANG & 2NE1 at tha time, but they did not want the boy group to be compared that much to BIGBANG, so they debuted Winner first, because Winner is not the “typical mainstream boy group as iKON is” and then they used the whole situation to hype people even more for iKON. Like they presented it: “They will leave if they lose” and then they said that fans made them change their mind to keep them, but that seems like another Yang Hyun Suk marketing calculation… They wouldn’t promote whole group that much to just throw them away + they wouldn’t send Bobby and B.I to Show Me The Money and have them feature/appear on other YG artists’ music prior to iKON (as if they were something like G-Dragon and TaeYang during early YG Family times) just to let them go like that… I wrote my comment while watching the video, so I did not think deeply about it, but after your comment I admit there are cases for sure. Besides your Sixteen example, I realized some Lastart trainees are still under SM based on the SMBoysRookies25 performance at SM Town concert. Plus then Kim Dong Hyun (and technically Koki too, although he is a bit different case) rejoined/stayed at P Nation after LOUD.

Aine

Oop, you might wanna edit your post - while PD does obviously know the debut lineup, they don't know the finale rank order! Let's try to keep as much of the show a surprise for them as possible! ❤️

Kuro Kurt

They already had 6 eps before we saw the first That was not evil editing against jiyoon

Lecia

“To you..”

Kuro Kurt

Keeping it spoiler free for PD Thank you

Aine

I think it invalidates Jiyoon's growth arc and emotional journey to not acknowledge it wasn't all evil editing (and I'm some who always points out evil edits when applicable). Did MNet milk the shit out of the drama? Yes absolutely. But those were her real emotions and reactions. The point is that she GREW and matured.

Lecia

Thanks for sharing YOUR opinion on the situation. I totally read all of that.

Aine

What is with this oversized hostility? The show ended 8 months ago. I love Jiyoon and love her more for the journey she had on I-Land. She was probably the most real person on the show.

Lecia

Thanks for the info!

Sascha

You know Leejung from Babymonster's Last Evaluation, she's the dance trainer and choreohrapher

Sascha

Fun fact about VVN, she's the cousin of Yuri from SNSD

Nathie💜

I'm still salty at how badly they did Jungeun during the debut!!! This upcoming cb and the rest after better not be like that

Nadine

Still mad at Mnet. They did Sujung and Yuju so dirty. Esp. in the last half of the show with zero screentime.

Raegan

Came here to watch this after seeing the Metronome music video. I’ve heard about Izna but never checked them out. But Metronome is just so good that I need to get to know these girls

Luez

Oh, i miss this show sooo much
