Even as a relatively new Shawol I think you got exactly what I (and I believe SHINee as a group) would've wanted you to get from this comeback. I'm so glad it moved you and that it made you smile this much!! It feels like a celebration of Jjong's artistry and of their love for him. I'm so excited to follow you through your next Shawol steps!!! The Story of Light is a cornerstone of my SHINee experience and love.

This is really a beautiful love letter to the fans, to themselves and to Jonghyun. Jonghyun is the original poet artist, it’s the name of his last album and a tattoo he wore on the back. I hope you have the chance to listen to his albums in the future and the beauty of his composition, he didn’t just produce music for the industry, his songs resonate, he had a way with words, like a writer. (He also wrote a full novel! Skeleton Flower: things that have been released and set free) As a shawol for many years, the album design is also a continuation of the Shinee plagiarism series, that Jonghyun actually started! Each one of them has used the same album design and similar titles for their first albums as soloist. Taemin debuted with Ace (2014), Jonghyun decided to follow him with the same cover and album format with Base, then Key’s Face, Onew’s Voice (2018) and Minho’s Chase in 2022. Like Key said, they didn’t want to let each other go, so they wanted to connect the start of their solo careers in some way. Poet artist is another piece of the puzzle, with them as five to conclude the series. What I feel about this release is like a testament to the future, they are the poets and the artists, always being different in pursuing music, authenticity and a declaration of love and celebration for themselves as a group. Minho said last year that this is just the beginning for Shinee! If you have time, I recommend to watch the behind the scenes recording video, where they all try to follow Jonghyun voice in the demo, I have never seen Onew struggle this much for a song 🫣 Last thing, the choreo is made by incorporating different moves of their previous MVs! (I recognized Everybody when Jonghyun start scatting, Atlantis, The Feeling)

If you get a chance I would absolutely love to see your reaction to the behind of the recording of this song. You get to hear a ton of clips of his demo and see the other members talk a lot about him while recording. It’s really lovely.

you really need to watch behind the recording of this song, PD! Jjong's voice isn't in just only that scatting part but harmonize with everyone all over the song~ one part that his voice stand out the most is when he's harmonize with Onew on 2:20 of your clip (or 1:20 of the song), as for easter eggs mostly are ref from their older MVs. I saw someone made a clip on Tiktok that point out some of it, dancing in water like Ring ding dong / running scene like The feeling / shaking shoulder like Everybody / their hands' movement like Atlantis and Juice / dancing in front of each other like Don't call me (or Good evening, I'm not sure), but you know what really funny when I listened to what you've said in this clip PD? I'm babywol just like you lol😂 and I've known them since debut too... but at that time I'm not into Kpop, just a casual listener but not a fan of any group. I just start my SHINee's journey last year, when Onew came back from his hiatus and appear on Song stealer. and then I found your chanel from your Circle reaction! really, fate is such a complicate thing lol.

I’ve decided that my favorite reactions you’ve made to Onew and SHINee lately are “I really needed to hear that.” Something tells me they’d agree with me.

A little Easter egg for you PD, as it relates to your favorite ending shot of the MV. But they’re actually all wearing their Shinee group rings, which they decided to get made last year. Each member got a ring, and they also had one made for Jonghyun. I believe they ended up gifting it to his sister. They all have such a love and admiration for the group and each other, and I think this is their way of showing us how Shinee is permanently in both their hearts as well as ours.
