so excited for this!

FroggyMuds

Definitely recommend the bad influence mv! It's the uncensored version

Karen M.

I think the members said on Chatting with Na PD (SVT birthday episode) that they were going to use HBD as the title track, but decided against it because it wasn’t really a song you could dance to. I think they said they wrote Thunder in a week to replace it as the title. Love all the SVT Chatting with Na PD episodes - very fun and informative since Na PD knows them well and they can talk about deeper stuff.

cassie-sad

Woozi made Wonwoos song because they always see his cute side and they wanted carats to see it more too 🙈 my personal favorite song

Dawndream

hi pd, there's an album commentary/listening party that's an hour long that they released on their channel where the members react to the others' solo tracks and talk about how they were inspired etc!

rika akiya

been looking forward to this!

WiseSmellyLegs

They should have made HBD the title track, but they also should have kept Thunder and Bad Influence for any future release and provided these two spots for vocal and performance unit and so they also should have added the 17th track for the hip hop unit to make the whole album like: 13 members 3 units 1 group/fandom = HBD And then after this they would release a repackage album with either Thunder or any other title track + b-sides given to other units like the leaders, BSS and more to make it like: “Part 1 as we started and Part 2 (repackage) to what we have evolved”. Also… Samuel was indeed one of the 4 members, who were cut/“left” during their pre-debut formation. It always makes me wonder how the group would have looked like if they debuted with all 17 members… Mainly with Samuel, considering him continuing to be an idol. My favorite solo songs here were… hmm… S.Coups’, Woozi’s, Dino’s and Mingyu’s. I have to replay it all again to be able to give a proper answer.

PD you should watch their own listening party in youtube for their solo songs and also their latest chattering with na pd because they explained their solo songs there. Woozi even shared the story about thunder.

jung

For me it's Jungle, Destiny, and Gemini pretty equally, with Raindrops honorable mention. Shake It Off is That Girl, such a banger. It just makes me excited for how their careers will evolve down the line. In the same way as this Shawol is deeply enjoying how Shinee's solos have evolved, I have that same hope for SVT -- all different, all shining. Thank you for the listening party. I learned new things :)

MooNKyu

Wow, I’ve been waiting for your reaction! Among all the solo songs, Mingyu’s is my favorite, the way it radiates confidence and his true self had me screaming like crazy. Next is Woozi’s, which had me in tears. Of course, each member’s solo has its own unique color, and I love that so much. Jungle is also in my top list, the intensity he brings is just insane! And I can’t leave out Coincidence from Jeonghan, which I keep replaying over and over. I really do love all of them. There’s something emotionally resonant about their music that reflects pieces of my own life, the sadness, the happiness, everything I’ve been through. They’ve truly healed me in so many ways. And finally, I’m so looking forward to your reaction to the Bad Influence MV, it’s incredibly cool. See you in the next video, PD!

Louise

Skyfall portraits Minghao so perfectly, I love it... but wtf mingyu Shake it off is my top 1 favorite too, I'm so surprised that I like it that much... third place is changing everytime I listen to the album, this is such a great album with so many colors!!

My top 3 for this album in order are The8's Skyfall, Jun's Gemini, & S. Coups Jungle. However, Bad Influence & Mingyu's Shake It Off get an honorable mention. Honestly Jun & The8's songs make me want another unit song from those two after all these years since My I. I am a sucker for they type of "Cosmo's Aura/EDM" songs that The8 has been releasing & I'm so excited to see where he goes next. Considering he has said that this is the way he wants his music to sound going forward, and that he showed on his insta that he was hanging out with the DJ/Producer members of DPR (DPR CREAM & ARTIC) in the last few weeks, I hope that they do a song together bcz that would be EPIC! I literally had the thought of "This reminds me of DPR" when I heard his solo release for Orbit & now Skyfall. But overall this album was amazing & I also appreciated the tracklist order so we were not all in tears for multiple songs in a row lol. You would definitely like the listening party video they posted to learn more about the process behind each song & seeing what members vibe the most to each song (we found our clubbing line of SVT through that video fr).

I don't really know what I was expecting for this album, but they blew me away anyway. I agree that HBD could've easily been the title, but also I feel like SVT B-sides are often as good as if not better than the title tracks. As for the solo songs, I feel like every song is the perfect distillation of each member and both shows them as a person, but also shows how much they've grown these 10 years. Jun and Mingyu's solos are probably my top. I get totally lost in them. But Woozi, Seungkwan, The 8, Scoups, and Vernon's are all right up there for me. Destiny makes me cry still and I've listened to it so many times already. Fortunate Change grew on me a lot. I didn't love it at first, but I find myself singing it to myself a lot. I feel like I could write a dissertation on this album, but suffice to say I love it more every day. Also I very much recommend watching their listening party, it adds a lot of context for the songs.

Yanny

my favorites on the album gotta be destiny, Gemini and shining star but i also really love raindrops and happy virus. this album really is just so good and represents them all so well

Julian

As a hip hop unit fan, I never would have expected Seungkwan's solo to be my favorite among all of these, and yet here we are. When I listened to Raindrops for the first time, it made me wanna cry, and that rarely happens with kpop songs... and when I searched the lyrics, I was just bawling. Gemini and Shake it up are close contenders tho.

minghow

fun fact: Woozi isn’t credited on his own solo song - it was written and composed by Bumzu and Park Kitae. it’s crazy how personal the song is!

S

My ranking for the solos: 1. Raindrops 2. Happy Virus 3. Skyfall (at first I wasn’t sure because it just sounded different from The8’s past music which I was a fan of but it grew on me a lot) 4. Gemini (would’ve been 5th but it’s grew on me as well) 5. Trigger 6. Destiny 7. Shining Star 8. 99.9% 9. Fortunate Change 10. Damage 11. Coincidence 12. Jungle 13. Shake It Off All the members did great on their songs, but my ranking is purely vibes of the songs and the kind of music I like or if there was a part or even the entire song that I liked

Form of Therapy

LMAO SEVENTEEN has brainwashed us into making anything make the meaning of SEVENTEEN make sense 😂

Cath

They also did a listening party on youtube to their album that I really loved to watch! it's worth watching in my opinion if you want to, they talk about the songs too in it (wether you react to it or watch it on your own, I think you'd like it!) 😊

Cath

About Raindrops: I do not know if you know who Ha Hyunsang is (one of the composer and lyricist for raindrops) but TXT Soobin once recommended to listen to his song called "Pain" and I listened to it and I'm so glad I did and I cried so hard (because I was going through a very difficult moment) and when I listened to raindrops the guitars and drums especially for the chorus is so Ha Hyunsang I was like, why is the feeling of this song soooo familiar? By the way the songs don't sound alike AT ALL it's just a similar feeling, it's just the Ha Hyunsang feeling that you can feel through the song I don't know how to explain... and I was so happy to discover Ha Hyunsang in the credits, Ha Hyunsang's "vibe" with Seungkwan's voice? It crushed me. I was sobbing listening to it and I honestly have a hard time not crying when listening to it! It's like when he sang that song in nana tour, Seungkwan's voice is so emotional, he just embodies the songs he sings so well! (I really recommend listening to Ha Hyunsang to everyone that reads my comment, you'll see what I mean by you can feel Ha Hyunsang's influence, especially in the guitars/drums... guys, listen to PAIN by Ha Hyunsang! you won't regret it, trust me on this! (This is not a reaction request just to be clear this is a recommendation to the world to just please listen to Ha Hyunsang, he has so many good songs 😭))

Cath

I love the whole album, it's a no skip album for me but my favorites when it comes to the solos especially are Seungkwan and Jun's!

Diana

I second this! It would be like doing a second listening party (so, time-consuming) but if you could that would be awesome. They talk more about what inspired them and what they wanted to convey, and it's such a nice insight.

Diana

I listen to 99.9% an alarming amount tbh (up there with the Kpop Demon Hunters OST, which you will GET when you watch the movie, I'm sure) Also Raindrops and Destiny. I think those 3 struck me the most, and I find myself singing them and just, finding comfort in them, I guess? Overall, the album makes me so proud and so happy to have been with Seventeen for as long as I have :3

Ppeaceminusone

Dont know what happened to my patreon but found this listening party month later🥲 Waited for ur reaction to this album since it released so happy to hear ur opinion on every song. Thanks, PD! I think most reactors couldn’t grasp full meaning and essense of this album and I was not fully satisfied with many reaction videos to this album till this day but PD never fail, especially with seventeen album. it was such a rich, meaningfull, very personal (for seventeen) album.

Ppeaceminusone

Also hope you react to listening party of this album. Each member talk about their songs, creative behinds.

Tring

PD! 👋🏻 Have you listened to Wonu's Gogae? He released it during his birthday last month, if not, I hope you listen to it! 🙏🏻
