No cause im crazy for KIM JUNMIN

fernanda

This is how we get on the dong gyu, junmin debuttttt !!

Kirtana Pillai

Random observation I made that Chinese trainees are better at picking the food is cause Chinese chopsticks are generally longer so yeah.

Liv

Totally on Minjae’s side on this, they tried to frame it like he was on a power trip but then we literally saw that no one volunteered? And then they would’ve criticized him again if he forcefully switched positions away from Hu Han Wen, I do think it should’ve gone to someone else but then you’re making someone who doesn’t want to be main vocal sing and they would’ve gotten mad at Minjae again, I don’t think there was a way he could really win, it sucks when you don’t have have people show initiative or confidence in this situation; definitely the right team won, there’s a big skill gap, I would have to look side by side again but I do understand why people if you’re voting individually for a position liked Chen Kai Wen better; side note: they go back to this clapping practice scene a lot with Hu Han Wen in the show but is it just me or is that pretty normal? Like to stay on beat for people who are off rhythm the way Minjae did it seemed like necessary, I just didn’t understand why they kept clipping that part that was just normal practice

unfortunately, kim sihwan (along with geonwoo and leo, actually) has been facing bullying and sexual harassment accusations. for geonwoo, it seems like it's a bit about bullying but more about embezzlement of funds/being given the princess treatment by the company (written apology is out there). leo's controversy was about some violent lyrics that he wrote about women (written apology is out there). actually, as i'm looking it up to confirm, apparently peng jinyu was posting some hateful things towards idols too. all of the people i've mentioned are very talented and stood out to me in the show. i was voting for sihwan before i knew! given leo and geonwoo's ranks, we know the final group will have to carry the burden of some controversy right out the gate, which sucks for the other members. no matter the truth of those rumors and situations, and no matter the growth since those events, your image just *is* tainted.

Liv

I completely understand Xin Long not wanting to do plot twist, I think the issue with boy story is that a group concept can’t be revolved around their young age, I think they’ve been wanting to grow up for a long time, it’s not that cute concept is bad, but I understand his personal struggle with matching the vibe given his own history, also I applaud anyone who does the cute concept while on a survival show like this I feel like it’s always harder, imagine being a contestant and having to detach from all stress and be so incredibly bright happy youthful smiling even if you’re struggling mentally, you have to be so emotionally expressive and put aside any trauma briefly for the performance and how to touch roots back with innocence when you’ve been in the industry for so long or training for many years, getting that light back in your eyes is not easy to do

Liv

Throughout the show, out of the many the editors don’t focus on, I feel like have we heard Chen Bo Wen talk for more than a sentence?? And they don’t focus well on him during any of the performances either, he’s doing really well it’s just difficult because WE DONT SEE HIM he’s one that doesn’t get a storyline so at least I’d like to see him during the performance but they always cut towards other people quickly when it’s his part a lot of the time, I do think it’s nice to see when people acknowledge him online or other reactors since he always does solid job

Liv

The makeup team really ,, I get it you’ve got a 80 people to do up but the absolute wrong shade on the tanner contestants like He Xin Long IS A CRIME, they look so washed out and it’s so cakey, it’s one thing to try to tone up a bit I get the beauty standard and there are bright stage lights BUT THEY LOOK GRAY, it’s always a pet peeve bc it makes them look stiff and it’s so noticeable that it’s distracting, we have had tan idols for a long time now so you can’t blame it on it being something new and I know they have better access to shades

JJ

just wanted to mention because I haven't seen it in any other comments so far - apparently stepping out of formation when unsure of the choreography is how some jyp groups are trained (basically so that they are no in the way of the others and no accidents happen; I think you can see it happen in some got7 content? not sure tho), which I agree is... unusual and definitely seems unprofessional to anyone who doesn't train that way but it explains why xinlong stepped out

Mika

this is the first I've heard anything about embezzlement/princess treatment I'm really curious where you found this info

Mika

From what I’ve seen with the whole bullying situation the proof was nonexistent and people are barely even talking about it anymore. The person posting about it was even debunked and they were trash talking other idols too. If the person making the accusations was debunked and there was no victim, then what’s the reason to oust him? Most people online already forgave him and even support him, so if he does end up in the group I don’t see the issue. It’s the same with Leo in a way, yes what he did with those lyrics was wrong but this was years ago and he apologized and people forgive him enough to vote him too. It’ll definitely be a burden to the group when people consider their image “tainted” for these things I 100% agree which is why I never voted for them personally but if fans vote them into debut I’ll support them I don’t mean to make it sound like I’m arguing btw I’m just dropping my 2 cents on the situation 😅

fern

i don't know whether anything has been debunked, necessarily. totally agree with "It’ll definitely be a burden to the group when people consider their image “tainted” for these things I 100% agree which is why I never voted for them personally but if fans vote them into debut I’ll support them" i think it'd be pretty dumb for leo to not debut here, he definitely doesn't need my vote though, lol

Form of Therapy

First off wow thanks for the FASCINATING info. And yeah that is weird! Seems unprofessional but hearing the reasoning is sound

Form of Therapy

LMAO I didn’t want to say because they’re young men and it’s not their fault but yeah jeezus the MUAs were just like “we have one shade and everyone is getting it”

Mika

I love rewatching these episodes again after seeing how far they’ve come in the show 😭

Form of Therapy

You’re right, I don’t remember anything about Bowen’s story and yet he’s consistently been in my TOP on pure skill and execution alone. Truly wasted 😭

Form of Therapy

I don’t know I’m pretty split on that idea. It’s a SURVIVAL show, if you’re forced to sing when you want to become a singer then you’re not cut out for this—but also it’s a survival show and there is merit to failing from your own decisions instead of failing from what someone else told you to do… the logic fair side and the Korean producer side of me are at war internally on this one

Mika

The op was proven false and they even deleted their account, so many people started supporting him again, many of them being knets too. I’m not too familiar with how Bill Ent treated him or the embezzlement situation but I feel like that’s moreso on the company and not him? And with Leo I feel like if he were a bad person Sangwon would have never joined him on the show to begin with. The only reason I never voted for either of them is bc I didn’t want another IDID situation where someone gets kicked out after the show ended but hopefully that doesn’t happen I feel like they’ll both be fine

Liv

Completely fair! I’m coming from an Asian American perspective so I get that there’s so much I’m not picking up, I think it definitely could’ve been handled better by Minjae, but also bc we’re shown so little who knows if they did even have conversations about it they very well could have—but we will never be privy to that SO based on what we were only shown, can it seems messy to me but less an “all his fault” issue and more so that the team didn’t pull it together and there’s a lot of skill gap to work through, I think about Hinata responding to Kageyama, of “hey he’s the king but if i don’t like what he says I’m not gonna follow it” it’s not cool if people are pushy or rude, but if you never speak your piece or stand up for self no one else will either mentality, if the trainees came out later and started saying “we hate him and he was bullying or flaunting his seniority” I would say it’s a different story but based on the future episodes they didn’t have a problem with him, and looking at what was presented to the audience I can easily understand how Minjae got to that point and clearly he was invested in other people on the team doing well, it’s been observed that he spent a lot of time with Hu Han Wen to help guide and practice because he was struggling; BUT ALSO TO YOUR POINT, I hate when stylists make the killing part stick out TOO MUCH, I think that hindered their performance and not Minjae’s fault, they should’ve had black pants or black shirts underneath but the all white look makes them look like backup dancers and washes out their movements

SanjA1800

Be prepared to be baffled with the audience voting all throughout this show. So many teams were robbed. Maybe live they see something we don't because those votes make absolutely no sense to me.

daybreak

the op wasn't proven false at all.. geonwoo literally admitted to it in his apology and just said it was bc of being a leader, op had lots of reciepts, and even the people who came out to support geonwoo just made excuses instead of saying it didn't happen (such as the company worker who said he was that strict on younger trainees bc the company told him to as a leader, and rheo/lee donggun also said he was harsh and he was scared of geonwoo too due to how he acted but thought he had a reason to do so and must be sweet inside. so it was actually just proven the more people talked about it, but ppl excused it with his leader responsibility. but if the way you lead is giving people lifelong trauma i don't think any explanation makes it much better

auska

Am I the only one who thought Chen Kaiwen did the rap part better? 😅 I was so happy that he won the audience vote

BZ

The Leo thing was a rap at monthly reviews and the rap was actually an American artist rap. It was over 3 years ago and he apologized profusely for it. I actually blame BigHit because they approved it before he did it

Vanessa Ann

Agreed, it's crazy how good his pronunciation is when he can barely speak a lick of Korean!

Neeko

JUNMINNNNN. the man is too damn good.

Neeko

Lolll the reoccurring bad audience voting continues from I-Land 2 to Boys II Planet.
