PD I’m wondering if you’d consider doing a listening party to Adéla’s debut EP ‘The Provocateur’? I know you don’t typically do western pop listening parties but I think you would absolutely fall in love with her sound and image. She’s giving us diva pop icon that we have been missing since peak Gaga / Britney. Very hyper pop giving Charli xcx and a mix of all these other hot pop girlies like PinkPantheress and Tate McRae etc…obv my own opinions but I really think you’d LOVE it :)

48:03 - OMG!! JaeHyuk!! You cannot make me laugh so much during their crying out loud moment… (your words: “I am gonna be honest, I cannot believe you made it this far either”) Team Buttons: Celeste, Daniela, Manon, Nayoung, Sophia I pretty much agree with you on everthing. Daniela, Sophia and Manon (although I have to admit the growth of Manon on me has started to slow down recently) and then Nayoung, where I also agree with you, but if she made it into the group, I would not have said anything and actually there would have definitely been a high chance for her to grow a lot in a short period of time. Wheres with Celeste I can definitel tell she was the one, who should be eliminated in this round Team Confident: Lara, Megan, Marquise, Yoonchae This performance made me realize Lara kind of did not have anyone in whole Dream Academy to make her run for her money… she dominated it with her vocals from start to the end. Megan showed she might be even stronger member, who can be equally great at both singing and dancing, than Sophia, who is also great in this regard, but I feel like her brain/way of thinking and being the best option to be the leader of all of them definitely saved her spot in the group in the first place. Marquise made me think whether she should not be in the group instead of Manon or Yoonchae, she was SO GOOD HERE! Yoonchae is the biggest question for me, when it comes to Katseye’s line up. She has always made me feel like she is there because they needed young Korean member or just Korean member and her age is just a bonus. In this regard she is better option than Nayoung, but I can imagine Marquise being in the group instead of her… Team Wannabe: Emily, UA, Samara, Ezrela Samara did not stand out here, I agree with your words. Ezrela is good but she is similar cas as Nayoung… UA stands out dancing-wise but now we know Daniela can handle singing too (while dancing) and Emily seems like a very concept-wise versatile player. All in all: Lara, Megan, Daniela, Sophia were definitely the obvious choices for the group. Then there is Marquise, Manon, Yoonchae and Emily, where I am thinking whether Marquise could not replace Manon or Yoonchae and Emily either also replace one of them or be the one member to debut seven of them. Like I wonder what was the reason for six of them, when they chose Manon mainly for her star power, but her skills were not 100% there yet as in the case of others of this “group”. Then UA… she would have been a great main dancer, but we have that with better vocal skills. Nayoung, Samara, Ezrela are understandable for me. Like the reason why they did not make it. And Celeste just does not make any impact on me. If we add the artistry factor to all of this, my ranking does not change that much… UA ranks higher because she embodied this “cuter Wannabe version” really well! Ezrela was probably the best of Nayoung and Samara. And Celeste stays the same. So I would eliminate Celeste, Samara and Nayoung. Samara is better than UA in the regard of being “well-balanced” but regarding artistry, UA showed she is better at this and compared to Samara I can see her improving, whereas Samara somehow keeps the same level throughout the whole time

By the way… before the live finale, on the list there should be 3 final performances (Dirty Water, Girls Don’t Like and All The Same) (Your playlist started playing the live finale here right after the bonus performance of the 10 finalists, so I am just making sure)

It makes no sense to me that they kept Celeste but cut Adela round 1. Did Adela OOZE soloist power? Yes. But Ilya was WAY more soloist-like and they kept her. Celeste’s issue wasn’t a vibe tho it’s her actual voice. She stands out TOO much to be part of a group harmony, she would shine more as a soloist. You could HOPE that Adela will eventually fit into a team mold because that’s a skill and mental issue, but Celeste is PHYSICAL and she can’t CHANGE her voice tone, something she’s born with. Idk how she made it this far. Even Karlee! Yeah Karlee didn’t sound great in the LE SSERA mission but again that’s more training, aka something that could improve over time vs a set voice. I just didn’t get it.

I remember when this was happening live, people lost their minds over Buttons and rightfully so. However, CONFIDENT?! That quartet of girls (Lara, Megan, Marquise and Yoonchae) ate that performance all the way up.
