Its so interesting how you pointed out that they sound like 3rd gen idols bc in reality they actually are lol from what i know they are all from older disbanded groups. As a casual listener myself, Im excited for you to listen to their discography it’s such an easy listening experience they really dont have a “bad” song, some songs may be a little cheesy or silly but I think it adds to their charm and theyre fun to listen to regardless.

Now some information about PLAVE: We are not allowed to disclose any information about their irl personas (as VLAST is very strict about (soft)doxxing to protect their privacy) So I will just talk a bit about the group itself: PLAVE is a self-produced group which means just like SEVENTEEN they compose (producerz) and choreograph (danraz) all of their songs mostly on their own (ofc they get some producers in for feedback/fine-tuning) Their fandom name is PLLI Members in order of how they stand in the video: Nam Yejun - the leader, vocalist and part of the producer line and he is also known as mr. siren voice bc his vocal teaser for Pump Up the Volume pulled a lot of fans in ( https://www.youtube.com/shorts/ZQGNffFlFts ) Bamby (Chae Bonggu) - vocalist, part of the choreographer line and the group's high note machine Yu Hamin - maknae, rapper (also does vocals), part of the choreographer line and in charge of the acrobatics (black belt in taekwondo) Han Noah - vocalist, human electric guitar and part of the producer line (also did a phenomal cover of drowning - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k1mngeXWbuA ) Do Eunho - rapper, vocalist and part of the producer line (if you like to hear him rap more, he has some great rap covers - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rYIV88bZeW0 and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GTp7n6_zXhA ) BTW 기다릴게 (Wait for you) is their debut song which is insane. I'm so glad you got interested in checking this out without needing to be told their real identities! That's the barrier I usually encounter - people don't tend to give them a chance unless they're told which former idols they are. Like most of the fandom already know who they are, especially blonde hair Noah (his singing voice is VERY distinctive if you know your early 3rd gen BGs lol). But fans respect their privacy, even if the antis don't and doxx their identities like every few months on Twitter like it's shocking 🙄 PLLI don't care how old they are or what they look like.

I got into plave bcs of the hate train they were receiving, i was like okay let me see why they hating, then right then and there I got pulled into the rabbit hole and I did a deep dive and decided to stan Plave. As a group they really remind me of BTOB, they are sooo funny and the VOCALSSS!! the vocal layering of their songs really made me okay they are my 5th gen BTOB

i feel like most of us went through the process of seeing them, thinking "now what kinda bullshit is THIS" and then realizing just how talented they are. 😭 their music is so appealing to older kpop fans too !!

It's so interesting how you were bringing up 3rd Gen and how producers were vocalists for Kpop Demon Hunters. PLAVE does a lot of their own producing for their songs specifically Yejun (blue hair), Noah (blonde) and Eunho (silver hair). So now I'm wondering if those 3 were the producers or songwriting contributors in their former disbanded groups pre-PLAVE. Bamby (pink hair) and Hamin (black hair) also help with choreography. You have to see their Dash performance, the choreo is great and Hamin and Bamby snap off. They remind me of Seventeen given how self produced they are. And maybe I like them so much because I'm 3rd gen trash 💀

...Okay but I've only been waiting for you to react to PLAVE properly for about a year now 😅 You need to see all their stuff but especially the MV for Dash, I think it'll blow your mind a little 😆 You're right that they're old school and they accumulate a lot of older kpop fans this way 😊 Also they're freaking hilarious (again, in a more carefree way reminiscent of 2nd/3rd gen) and you need to check out their highlight clips from livestreams and variety stuff! They're just so entertaining in every way and have singlehandedly made kpop fun for me again. So glad to hear you're doing a deep dive in the new year 🤗

I think you would love them as equally as i do! as i have commented previously, though your insights on music itself is really good. i do appreciate your commentary on video production and editing. since plave videos are produced really well, and they are all interconnected through their lore (you should really check it up, its one of the most unique lore in kpop industry, on par with bts), i think you would enjoy it.
