PD! I came here to tell you why Haechan probably was being used less in NCT Dream. He got vocal polyps sometime last year (yes, even during those two albums, on top of the solo stuff, which he said was the hardest but he doesn't regret doing the solo album) and he was taking a break for 6 months (except for group comebacks and concerts, which is why he's still participating despite having the polyps, they literally just had an NCT Dream concert in Taipei). So despite there being a 'break', he's not truly taking a break like he needs. It's a compromise. I already saw people freaking out whenever he first said he was taking a break, but...it's not really a break. Dude needs to completely take a break. I'm more surprised he's not getting surgery for the problem, too. He said he was taking shots before to help, but it only helped for a little bit (improved for a short time) for his vocals. About Mark: there was some content with Jungwoo that also freaked people out (more warranted than people freaking out about Haechan saying he was taking a break), where Mark's health is more like 30-40 year old compared to what his real age is. Meaning he truly and completely is overworking his body. So, uh, yeah, SM, you REALLY need to put both Haechan and Mark on some extended break to let them not...further ruin themselves to the point of collapse. If you really wanna see the live for Haechan talking about his vocals (and his album), it's here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bgh9KsmYkGI The subtitles are all over the place, but yeah. 3:02 when he talks about his throat and vocals, he was talking to fans on Weverse. It's depressing, but I'm glad he's talking about it. It was in September, same month as his album, but closer to October.

I think you explained the issue with BTTF really well, it felt like a filler album, to put it plainly lol. it was when even I started to catastrophise over the future of them and what to do when your favourite group stops being a priority in the eyes of their company, but Beat it Up really brought it back for me. The song itself isn’t my favourite thing on the planet but the album went in all the directions I wanted them to go, gave them a chance to “play around” with their sound a bit in a way that still felt true to their identity and added solid songs to their discography. As always thanks for the reaction, I hope you enjoy the album when you get to it!

i'm so glad with you speaking about it, i loved last year albums, but back to the future wasn't a addiction for me. and yes this new album is amazing, i'm sure you're gonna love it

Alex

i love ''i hate fruits'' so much too

Alex

nct dream has been good for me personally, but i was so afraid after bttf and chiller, i didn't create any expectation for this cameback, but i'm glad that i'm actually loving it

I love nct dream so much theyre one of my ults, but this isn't my fav. I havent really loved their last few comebacks and Im kinda sad about it. I get that they're allowed to change it up and do different concepts but recenty its just not my style. I feel like its one of those either you love it or hate it type of songs. They all still sound incredible though! And Im so happy Jisung is getting more center cause hes my ult!

I agree with most of what you said. I don't look for BTTF that much either. I don't watch all K-pop, I only watch NCT. So, I watch 127, DREAM, WayV, and WISH. Even though BTTF's promotions in DREAM were already the best, long, boring, but I could get emotional from time to time with memories. It's neither a compliment nor a curse. At the time of the promotion, I didn't see all of it in real time, and only after about three days had I seen it very slowly. It was overwhelming to follow, and I had so much to take care of (not just K-pop. My general life!) and I was very tired. And when BTTF and CHILLER came out, I definitely enjoyed them, but I didn't replay them. I listened to them when they came out as automatic play, and I rarely pressed them myself. I've searched for them a few times, but they're still significantly less than the two albums that came out in 2024. I also listen to and like them more. I'm also curious about the future direction of DREAM that you mentioned. K-POP trend is gradually disappearing from the identity of repackaged album, comeback with a full-length album, perform short activities for two weeks, and then have a concert right after the concert in Korea. I think this is a problem of K-POP including SM. If the promotion period is too short, the time we can enjoy becomes shorter, right? I have to have enough time to enjoy it, but K-POP as a whole does not allow it in today's society. Is NCT the only one making a comeback? Absolutely not. A lot of K-pop groups have made several comebacks, and some have solo songs in between. There are even units. It's going to be overwhelming to catch up with them all. I agree with you that you're probably the burnout.

Let's stop talking about heavy things and talk about DREAM again. This Beat It Up was really my cup of tea, just by looking at the track, without thinking about what we've been doing. (To be honest, the album itself is... well, I don't know. LOL.) From BTTF to now, I think Jaemin is doing a great job as the center of DREAM. He is definitely shining the most right now. At the fan signing event, Jaemin said he is taking vocal lessons, too. It was nice to see him constantly studying his own progress. Also, it was noticeable that after Renjun's return, he gradually found his footing with the help of the members when he couldn't keep up with the speed around him, as if he stopped very slowly, sometimes for a while. His presence was clearly visible in this music video as well. (Of course, he was also beautiful in BTTF and CHILLER.) Thankfully, the comment below mentioned HAECHAN and MARK first. As you said, the two had to do solo activities and 127 activities, so they needed proper activities and proper rest. Most of all, I think the presence within DREAM, which is skewed towards the two, is only now being distributed *lately* evenly. It can be a sad story for Haechan and MARK's favorite person, but I think it's a good direction when you think about the group. They are definitely putting pressure on their bodies and not getting enough rest. (I hope my message is conveyed well. I have no intention of tarnishing anyone. It's an objective evaluation that came out only because I love this group.)

i personally love dream when they’re doing their refreshing concepts: rains in heaven, when i’m with you, hello future, best friend ever, etc. the last 3 comebacks have, for lack of a better term, been more “127.” i wonder if that’s intentional, especially since nct now has wish, but i do hope dream continues to mix in those kinda songs—after istj and smoothie they went to rains in heaven and when im with you, so you never know!

I will definitely wait for your reaction to the rest of the song on RIIZE's Fame - Single and NCT Dream's Beat It Up - EP.

And a long time has passed and I still think that DREAMSCAPE is still their BEST album 😭💚

Stefan

Since this is NCT, I figured this was the best place to comment this, but please consider checking out Jungwoo's Sugar. It's his pre-enlistment solo single and it's the most Jungwoo thing to ever Jungwoo, definitely worth checking out 🙏

i feel there has been a shift in jisung not just as a performer but just him as a person and u can tell from his recent performances that he’s become a lot more mature. his mindset has also changed and he’s become more greedy which is a good thing since jisung has always been one of the members to not get much from sm. he’s mentioned that he’s preparing for a solo so pls look forward to that and i really hope you get the chance to react to it when it comes out. Thank you for your reactions they’re always so much fun to watch☺️
