Your reaction to the feature was so real 😭 Such a good song otherwise, what a genuinely not good feature, not the flow, not the tone, not the stylistic choices they made, just a generally unnecessary and flat out diminishing of the song's value feature. Really hoping they release a version without it.

thank you for reacting to this mono is definitely explicit with it's message about the lgbtq+ community and just getting rid of all the noise telling you what you shouldn't or should be doing and to just let love take charge because when we do, it becomes the louder voice that make everyone open to look past our differences + i-dle releasing a song in a very straight male centric society just makes me admire their active role in changing the kpop industry 1 song at a time

Personally, I too, did not like the rap in the second verse. It did not match the rest of the song and more importantly the rap was a bit too genric given how the rest of the song had such interesting lyrics. I, too, am looking forward to a non feature version where maybe soyeon raps in the second verse and they do something interesting in the bridge. However, despite the feature not being my favourite the song is so so catchy and so easy to listen too that I just have played it non stop.

i like the message of the song but musically I'm not the biggest fan of Mono, also not a fan of the feature.

Also didn’t like the feature rap but the rest is solid. I wasn’t feeling idle’s music recently but this song is giving me hope for their comeback!! This felt more like a single song promotion

i love the idea of this song but a few bits fall flat for me. aside from what other comments mention about the feature, the lyrics just don't work for me. you can get these ideas across in more subtle and tasteful ways. "you're from the right or from the left" followed by "whether east or west, whether straight or gay" feels a little... numb to current events? ik the world doesn't center around the US but we've got the right killing the left in the streets in one of the biggest music markets. it's simultaneously too preachy and too tone deaf? i just want more nuanced and poetic lyrics i think. anyway the chorus was cool lol. i wish the feature was like the ending of kai's walls don't talk?

thank god it was clarified. its an audio reference, when something is played in mono its one single channel rather than using stereo audio which is played from left or right channels,.

yeah, that was sort of my point in bringing up the next line though. left or right, straight or gay? it's still trying to get you to think outside of the bounds of "mono audio"
