Yay new arc!! It’s infuriating but at least less annoying than previous arc I’d say; also, kdrama Law and the City also had a storyline about voice phishing and the shame towards victims and had the phrase “anyone can be tricked” and I thought that’s stuck with me as a poignant way to sum up my thoughts about it—anyone can be a victim and these scammers also prey on desperation, people most vulnerable not to mention like this arc shows, a lot of the callers in these rings are forced to be there physically or financially held hostage so it’s never as simple as “well you should’ve just known”

I think it was interesting that Doki and the rainbow taxi team kind of just turn a blind eye to what happens to their villains, bc they’ve been doing this for so long that they know they don’t get arrested but also assured that they aren’t killed, so my question always was: what do they think was happening to them? Do they really believe in rehabilitation for some of these people? Even DoKi is probably the only one close enough to know about the prison conditions itself so he’s really choosing to believe it’s right even though he’s definitely been confronted up close to see that it’s not humane conditions (which ik some of them like Do Chul don’t deserve), but still agree to the plan and only questions it NOW when there’s an attack like none of them have confronted themselves with an endgame, like how long will they be prisoner, what does a successful rehabilitation constitute, if it works then would someone really be let out back into the world? Interesting story choice bc it makes it just a tad more gray
