BTS The ARIRANG Interview with Zane Lowe l Apple Music

I'm pausing at the part that you talked about translation, the fans and it seems BTS have been extremely annoyed this whole promotion tour for BTS because the translator was doing a very half assed job. I think at some points members would say like 2-3 sentences and the translation would end up being a line. (As someone who understands Korean it was absolutely not the best version of what was being said and as you said would lose intention sometimes.) It was to the point that Namjoon had to step in multiple times to either translate himself or publicly call out the translator and ask if they "got" it.

1:06:26 i remember hearing this also from a suchwita ep, how you’ve never doubted bts & svt’s bond. i sometimes wonder how we can feel it through the screen but i guess sincerity cuts right through it

If you're still planning on doing that video about their comeback, and also touching on that "getting to know new things" you mentioned, in my opinion the best for some new info was the Rolling Stones interview they did for the group and each member individually which I think was important to hear each one's thoughts beyond just the album/comeback, even though you could say it was the "typical" interview. So even if you don't end up watching the videos which I think would still be important for nuance, reading the interviews would be interesting before planning the video if you don't have it set already.

Those were released about a week ago and idk korean but in my perspective even if there could be some translation issues in this one I think they answered everything pretty interestingly, especially about their solo eras and the impact of those for some of them in the new album more "deeply" i guess

Maya

I actually think Zane is from Australia or New Zealand based on his accent

Yes I was gonna say the same thing, I get frustrated because why are they not doing their job as they are supposed to.

I’m glad you noticed the translation issue we’ve been dealing with especially this comeback. It genuinely sucks so much because the translators put little to no effort when it comes to translating that it all ends up falling on namjoon again when he has stated that he doesn’t want to feel like one and he clearly wants to just take a seat and answer questions like the rest of the members without having to do what is quite literally a second job. The good thing is that our army translators always make sure to show correct translations to what the members actually say which is a privilege we have as a fandom because otherwise we would be missing all the nuances. 😭 I also never had any doubts about this comeback and them staying together as a group. I know some armys had anxiety about it and honestly I still see it because they somehow think that this tour is a goodbye tour which is nonsense. Jin even came out and said it was originally going to last a couple of months but he advocated for it to be this long due to the promise they made about seeing armys after a long time away. I wish the fandom would feel the security bts have been trying to give especially with these interviews but I also can acknowledge that it is natural to have some fear when other groups haven’t lasted or had the same career trajectory as bts. Anyway I really hope everything goes smoothly going forward and I really agree they should have these style of deep interviews in korean. I want to hear namjoon thoughts in particular because he has so much to say but I think he is limited his words in english and could explain himself more intensely/profoundly in korean.

i really miss watching bts as a team attending korea's shows, whether it is music shows where they perform or variety shows. and it really is because of what you said, America interviews have no soul. questions are repeated and recycled again and again.

I dont know if anyone here has a copy but I hope you can react to their concert. The Tokyo ones were great esp Body to Body. Those dates had online streaming so maybe someone has recorded it.

Also their 360 stage spins when they perform 🤗
