The atmosphere and intention of Ode to Love is giving me a Steady 2.0 impression, and I really love it because Steady is what I think is peak NCT WISH. It has that heartwarming feel that I think only NCT WISH could pull off in this generation of KPOP. I'm sick of cliche pop songs talking about love for a specific person or gender, and sometimes you just want a whimsical, empowering, albeit cheesy song like this. By the way, they sampled the song "Ode to My Family" by The Cranberries, which is why it's so familiar 😂 I'll be waiting for that listening party because for me, it's their best album yet.

so excited for you to check out the full album. ode to love is truly a traditional ode to love— but the entire album is an ode to love as well and i think it does a great job of encapsulating different types and feelings of love!! also.. the sample you’re thinking of is the cranberries, ode to my family!

Im in love with this song and mv its so petty! I usually dont go for crazy pop music like you do so I dont know why but I love it and its my current happy song! For me it depends on the pop song. I def love this more than Pop but I still like pop. This album is also my favorite from them so far and maybe one of my favs of the yeat too! I think it just makes me feel better and lighter and its refreshing amongst the all the heavy intense music in kpop right now. Cant wait for you album listening party!

I mistook The Cranberries' song for "Linger". That's what I get for growing up in the 90's. I never heard "Ode to My Family", but am familiar with the melody. I would guess it's sampled because NCT WISH have openly mentioned The Cranberries and "Ode to My Family" on a variety show while promoting the song. Also, funny/odd note: during Sakuya's screentime with the moth covering his mouth, I thought of the VHS cover for Silence of the Lambs (not the same species of moth, but just the use of a moth over his mouth was...a definitive choice). And they had a lamb in the beginning book thing. Oh, man, and he's surrounded by lamb plushes? That wasn't accidental. What the hell does that mean? Lol. Song-wise, this song is like a mix of NCT 127 featuring SR15B's "Switch" and NCT DREAM's "Heavenly". I like NCT WISH's "Ode to Love" more than "Sticky".

I know it's a legal requirement, but nonetheless it was a nice surprise to see Dolores O'Riordan, the singer of the Cranberries, who passed away a few years ago, officially credited for Ode to Love 🥹 I already lost my shit when they used the official Ode to my Family audio on some teasers on Instagram, and I lost my shit again, when it actually popped up in the MV teaser 😅
