If I had known I would be able to save enough money as I did after all, I would have arrived to Palm Springs earlier to be able to attend TaeMin’s stage too! What a show!

Michael Rivera

The song that made you feel wrong watching or made you feel that Taemin is the devil of music is called Heaven lol.

You would've hated the glasses even more in week 1... they were even bigger and brighter, lol. The song that you didn't know halfway through his set is called "Heaven", which came out in 2020. I highly recommend watching his performance of this song at his Ephemeral Gaze concert someday because the theatrics are insane. One of my favorite performances of all time. He also actually performed 6 new songs that not even fans had heard before at Coachella, which was an incredibly bold move. Even "Permission" wasn't out at the time. I really don't think there's another idol who's gone through the improvement that Taemin has. From having no lines in SHINee's debut song to becoming one of the greatest performers not just in K-pop, but I think in general for the current generation of pop artists. It's hard to believe he nearly retired a few years back. Taemin has never been in the industry for the clout or the fame and fortune, but is purely an artist at heart. He really is authentic in what he does. I think that's why it's easy to get emotional when you watch him - Taemin brings you into his world with his performances. He often talks about how introverted and shy he is off stage and how he likes to transform and embody different characters in all of his songs. He also recently said in a world where technology is advancing and the world becomes more digitalized, he finds a lot of pride in being able to still connect people from person to person. Also some Coachella facts: 1. The song after "Permission", which is called "Parasite", is actually meant to have a veil like his back up dancers but he was unable to locate it before the song started on week 2 and he had to improvise the choreography a bit without it. There's also quotes he picked out projected in the background, which criticize capitalism and anti-intellectualism and how humans aren't truly free. 2. Taemin actually cut the inside of his wrist to the point where he was bleeding a bit after performing "Guilty" due to continuously getting his hand caught in his shirt. 3. "IDEA" was the song that had audio issues in week 1. The audio completely cut out to where you couldn't hear the song at all and that whole section of his set was cut from replays.

I highly recommend watching one of his solo concerts, they are religious experiences, especially Veil felt like a theatre/satanic ritual :D Also fun fact about Heaven (song that made you feel wrong watching it), Taemin said that he wrote it as a comfort song for fans... ^^

This performance really reminded me why it was taemin that actually got me to step into kpop and eventually shinee too. So fantastic. No rush but you should check out a taemin concert at some point cause it is quite an experience.

The Korean dancer you noticed is probably Shuri! He has been with SHINee for a very long time (I think since SWC V?). This Coachella performance has mainly an American team, but Taemin has collected an incredible team of dancers during his past years of his career, they really are an incredible squad! Especially the girl gang 😎 Also, Kasper was there! He choreographed Idea and Advice. He is not technically a dancer, but Taemin probably said “put your shoes on, we’re dancing.”

He prepared this performance while cutting ties with BPM AND while preparing for the Shinee comeback, especially since Key said they had been collecting and listening to demos since last December… I’m watching this reaction after SWC 8 (which was exactly today). Omg. PD you have to start the Shinee concerts quicklyyyy can’t wait for July!

yes and that alluring yet sinister feeling you said you got aligns with the lyrics as well. definitely check it out!

The way my first thought when I saw the costume was to wonder how that Very Expensive-Looking Shirt was going to survive the Guilty choreo. 😂 Obviously it didn’t, but when he started ripping off fistfuls of beads and throwing them around, the effect was spectacular. I saw a post from the designers that showed them painstakingly stringing each silver strand of beads by hand. I hope they didn’t cry too hard when they watched this 😂🤣😭 What a feat of endurance this concert was! I couldn’t believe how many of his hardest choreographies and vocals went back to back with barely a moment to breathe in-between. He did not hold back on anything! It was like he was trying to pack as many performances as possible into the show, including debuting 6 brand new songs! People have already pointed out that the one you were wondering about is “Heaven” (not a new one), which I believe in an interview he said was his favorite number that he performed at this show. The glasses gave me the very distinct impression of when my toddler played dress-up with oversized sunglasses, tilting her head back to keep them on her tiny nose with a cheesy grin and imploring me to check out how grown up she looked… 😂 But he is SHINee’s maknae so, 🤷🏻‍♀️ I think all the SHINee members are best in live performances, so I can’t wait for you to watch the SHINee World concerts!

Weird take, but after first couple stages, I recall watching Constantine way back. Watching Taemin's fit is like watching Gabriel dancing on stage tempting us to hell

if there’s one artist you must see live, it’s taemin. he brings a level of immersion and aura that no one else comes close to. he is the standard!!

I unfortunately couldn’t see him because his set was at like 4pm and BIGBANG was that night at 11:30pm and I would have been way too tired after that many hours in desert heat. I’m so glad you posted this! I hope he does MOVE (I’m posting this before it’s started).

My stream of consciousness while I’m watching because why not: || Damn! His outfit is insane! Taemin walked so XLOV could fly, for real. What a trailblazer for androgyny in the K-Pop industry! || His stage presence and skill is impeccable. I’m not familiar with a lot of his music but that doesn’t matter at all. I’m transfixed! || Tongue out dancer is having the time of his life. You go boy! || The beginning of every song sounds like it’s about to be MOVE to me. My heart rate is like 📈📉 the first 2 seconds. I need to calm down. || 18:25 AHHHHHHHH! 🕺 || My toxic trait is believing I can do this dance. 💃🏾 || LMAO, I SEE YOU, PD! 🕺💃🏾 || Nah… his live vocals are crazy. What. || LMAO, not that shirt fucking up the GUILTY choreo! He said fuck this damn shirt! ⛓️‍💥 || I’m 1000% regretting not choosing death in the desert to see this live. Wow. Lee Taemin… Daebak. || And playing piano?! Now you’re just showing off, sir. || This man is on everyone’s shortlist for one of the best (if not THE best) dancers in k-pop for good reason. Woah. 😮 || The band!!! 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 Amazing. I wonder what Taemin is about to be wearing… || OK! SERVING BRUNO MARS REALNESS! hahaha… wait…..… what’s that tie doing 🤨 || lol PD, I was too distracted by what his tie was doing to notice those VR Trooper ass sunglasses… I’m dead 💀 || He could be wearing a paper bag with that voice and those moves. Gyat damn! || Aww! He’s so adorable with that smile and those cheeks! 🥰 || I see both Taemin and Shinee light sticks in the crowd and I love that. I hope it made him happy to see those there. || Bye bye Taemin! He did so well! **Edit: I went back to rewatch MOVE and noticed how differently other dancers do this dance. Watch the lady on the right during the anti drop/choruses. Obviously she’s an amazing dancer, but she is doing a lot of extra shoulder/hip movement. And that’s cool, I’m not bashing her interpretation of the moves at all. It just reminds me how truly difficult this choreo is, even though it looks super simple. Honestly, Taemin’s body control is superhuman, so it’s not even fair to hold anyone to that standard (except Momo cuz she killed it that one time lol).

I don't even know what to add to what everyone else has said. No, I do: Back in the day he did a bts for his first solo concert at Budokan. Ngl, it's hearbreaking to watch. The stress, the physical toll, the mental toll...and yet. Ravi once said that Taemin only looks soft on the outside, but he actually has a core of steel and Ravi is 100% correct. One thing younger idols who have seen SHINee and soloists in concert say the same thing: They do things that we as fellow idols have never even thought of doing. As for disappearing, I really can't recommend Taemin's Soldier + Rise live highly enough. That boy is singing for his soul in that performance. ETA: Taemin's sensuality is something else. Just...yeah. ETAA: Oh, Taemin was a judge on The Unit, and held a dance instructive during SuperM'S US debut. He's uh, he's like BoA - hard core.

i totally understand how you felt lol. devil of music
