Season 1 really has some good moments where they pull their shit together and they do find a way to twist the knife emotionally but I’m wondering if it’s from these real life stories that they first got inspiration then put the story together or vice versa, but the show always has its heart in the right place so it makes some of the contrived or slow writing bearable

It’s an interesting moral quandary bc was the idea ever to really rehabilitate them? Like I understand that’s his philosophy but you saw his crazy religious zealot eyes where I could see if they weren’t caught or things didn’t go south and this continued he really would’ve thought himself like a conduit of divine judgment, also I think context is important bc only him and do Ki knew about the state of the prison and we don’t get to see the rest of the crew, who are arguably more mentally sound, really live with the living conditions or lack thereof. I don’t think ptsd is like an effective method of keeping criminals in check, also yk WAR CRIMES and whatnot, bc you also have to consider now you’ve confined the arbiter of judgment jury and executioner to only a handful of people in this scenario so there’s THAT aspect of ok do u trust this to not be corrupt like the police with checks and balances but also the corruption in an institution is what this part of the story is about SO idk the correct answer ultimately. But, I think it’s important to determine if the goal of their prison is rehab or punishment, and if one thinks that rehab is possible for certain crimes and how you quantify that severity, I definitely understand where the teams philosophy stems from bc of Korean statue of limitations and the sentencing time that is significantly lesser in comparison to a country like the US. I do think it’s a point of contention in every vigilante show to address such moral quandary and at the very least the characterization of the rainbow taxi team seem unique
