maki was set on fire by jogo after her, nanami, and naobito fought dagon in season 2

The culling game officially starting! As a reminder, Maki was burned by Jogo (the curse with a volcano head) alongside with Nanami and Naobito (the Zenin grandpa) in season 2. Both of them didn’t make it but Maki survived due to her physically gifted Heavenly Restriction and hence have the burn scars now. Also, Naoya is Naobito’s son so they have the same Projection Sorcery technique that divides one second into 24 animated frames, and this will be explained further later in the season.

Honestly going into season 3 without a rewatch lowkey kinda sets you up for confusion haha, there's so much damn information! In saying that, here are a few points: Noritoshi Kamo is the name of the the most evil jujutsu sorcerer in history. It's the name we associate with the dude that's taken over Geto's body. In season 1, they explained that Kamo took advantage of a young woman able to become pregnant with curse-human hybrids and made her have 9 pregnancies (and made her have an abortion each time), which eventuated in the cursed womb paintings (those things that appeared in tanks when Choso was talking earlier). Choso is the eldest of these paintings, his brothers being the dudes Nobara and Yuji fought on the highway in season 1. Choso can feel when a relative of his dies, hence back in season 2 when he started to hallucinate memories with his brothers and Yuji, he starts to believe Yuji is his brother. That flashback with the baby is a memory of Yuji's, him as a baby with his dad and grandpa. The woman who walks in the door there is Yuji's mother, Kaori -- only, she has stitches on her head exactly like Geto's body after the take-over of Noritoshi Kamo. So basically, Yuji realises Choso IS actually technically his brother: in that Noritoshi Kamo was Choso's dad and Yuji's mum. Note that the Kyoto student who uses blood convergence was named after him lol and is literally also named Noritoshi Kamo. Maki got set on fire by Jogo post-octo bitch fight which is why she nearly died btw, she was healed off-screen. The drunken gramps that was with her with the frames per second technique was the Zenin clan head that died, aka Naoya's dad. Mai isn't dead, as someone mentioned last ep. Yuta cares about his fellow second years and Gojo, who care about Yuji, so he also cares about Yuji. Tsukumo Yuki is indeed the blonde lady that talked to Geto in season 2 post-Riko death. She's also Todo's mentor. Also yes, the 12 year thing is when Toji went ham, and Tengen is that person at the end LOL (sorry this comment is so long)

Yuuta cherishes gojo because he literally saved his life. He was the one who also interfered with yuutas execution. Also I think youth was not necessarily meaning only gojo, but also the other second year's who now got close to yuji

the thing with jjk is you really have to pay attention while watching the show. there's a lot of information and it's easy to miss some of it if you're not fully immersed (if you're super sleepy or distracted for an example it's not the best time to watch). it probably would have been better if you had rewatched season 1 & 2 before starting season 3 - i feel like there was a lot you missed in the first two seasons
