Okay long response incoming lol. I agree with what you said about Heeseung’s departure. It's been clear the past couple years that Heeseung has been working / wanting to work on solo music and he was even very vocal about it with Engenes. I think we all just expected that it would be a solo debut while also being in Enhypen like we’re used to with a lot of other kpop groups. (And maybe he even expected that at first too?) I truly think he made the decision to fully leave because of the time restraints. Enhypen’s schedule has ALWAYS been so packed and it's just unrealistic for time to be made for a full fledged solo for a member. The Blood Saga tour that started in May is now running all the way til March of 2027, and Enhypen just announced that their comeback will be at the end of August. I do think this decision to leave probably came from contract renewal discussions, seeing what was planned for the group going forward etc. And I do think if they haven’t already, the six members of Enhypen will renew their contracts. In a way, they seem more confident and motivated than ever to prove themselves (something I felt very strongly after seeing the Blood Saga concert in Seoul). They just recently dropped a brand renewal film with a new group logo, and things like their new character merch and the extensive tour makes me feel like a lot of signs are pointing towards contract renewal. Jungwon always speaks very honestly and sometimes very bluntly and I really appreciated his sincerity in this episode. I think it was a vague but direct way of communicating that they’ll be okay and that all the members are moving towards the same goal now. As an ENGENE pretty much since debut it’s been sad to see absolutely no mention of Heeseung after his sudden departure but I’m sure they are not allowed to talk about it, same goes for Heeseung about them. I personally think Heeseung put a lot of contribution towards the group and really cared about Enhypen’s group success, but also at the same time wanted to explore his own potential and find himself as an artist. Going forward, I really hope Enhypen is more and more successful, and can have a breakthrough in Korea as well. Same for Heeseung, I hope he feels like he is able to express himself more authentically through a solo career. I will keep supporting them all :) I’m seeing Enha in San Diego for Blood Saga and I am SO excited. I really hope you can check out the concert because from what I’ve seen it looks amazing!

And skills, I think Jungwon is the Best. I hope one-day he deserves all his work.

Jungwon is only 22, actually. He just turned 22 in February. Youngji is only 23 but is turning 24 in September, I believe. I guess they used their Korean age, even though I swear they abolished that whole another year older thing.

I think this was a very purposeful episode of No Prepare, I don't for a second think that the questions or the answers were accidental. Especially sending Jungwon, the leader who despite being younger in the group does have the image of a leader and fans can take what he says seriously. Jungwon having this viewpoint isn't a big surprise to me, I've followed them since Iland and Jungwon has been my Bias since day 1. I do think some of the things to be read between the lines is interesting? Obviously with 7 different view points of the whole Heeseung leaving thing there will be tension and uncertainty within the group. I'm taking Jungwons words for what they are, because thats all you can or should do in these situations, and I wonder how long of a process was on Heeseung leaving, how long they knew and talked and such before the decision was made. I also wonder if Jungwon felt a sense of betrayal or loss? It must have been hard with his view of a team and lasting as a team to have someone leave. I'm sure if would have been hard if any of the members left but especially Heeseung for Jungwon. I can imagine that in the start Jungwon had to rely on him alot as the leader and the oldest member and they really seemed like one of the duos from Iland that bonded during the show. Ultimately Heeseung leaving is his and the companies decision and how the members themselves feel about it, while unfortunate, doesn't have too much weight in the situation. I think that for Jungwon in particular it must have been a very difficult and challenging time as a leader, and it likely helped to solidify his appreciation for his team to speak on it to this degree.

No prepare is really my favorite variety program rn, hope this isn't a one off and you'll be able to react to some other episodes of this season (my favorite was the Ningning one) After the shocking surprise of Heeseung’s departure, I’m really grateful that Jungwon opened up a little about how he felt the group would move forward. I also genuinely believe that none of the other members truly wanted to go solo the way Heeseung did. I also feel like they’ll probably renew as six members anyway, since they’re all still very young and there are still many years left for the members to profit from the ENHYPEN brand. That being said, I was really thrown off by the way Belift and HYBE handled his departure. It honestly didn’t seem planned at all, especially since so many schedules had already been announced as OT7. I really wonder why they couldn’t just wait until the contract renewal next year. My guess is that they were afraid he would eventually leave the company anyway, so they wanted to profit off him for one more year. Situations like this really make me feel like there genuinely isn’t any company that is truly on the artists’ side.

i remember this episode coming out during the time when i still found it hard to listen to enhypen songs with feeling sad. And this was what truly got me to overcome my sadness over the situation. It reminded me of the hard work and hours that the boys have put into performing and honing their skills to get the point that they are at right now. It reminded me how young jungwon was when he became a leader, how young niki debuted. and i realised that rather than distancing myself from them because of the situation, I want to support both Enhypen and Evan. Both parties have worked hard to get to where they are, both parties have a right to decide what they want to do with their career. I'm so happy that youngji talked about wanting to show the world who jungwon as a person is. I've always felt that Jungwon is just as skilled as a vocalist and a performer as the rest of the member but i rarely see that skill being talked about (or maybe i'm not online that much so i dont know, which is fair).

I can’t wait for Jay to prove you wrong when it comes to his solo projects and show just how sustainable he is. I don’t know how closely you follow ENHYPEN, but Jay’s individual projects have been incredibly successful, arguably among the most successful within the group, all while actively promoting as part of ENHYPEN. His Bon Jovi covers introduced him to a whole new audience of Bon Jovi fans. His collaborations with Ralph Lauren and TAG Heuer were well received. He even released his own signature guitar, which sold out. His collaboration with GLAY in Japan was also very successful. Plus, “Helium” is the most streamed track on that album. And he achieved all of that while continuing to prioritize the group. I think it’s worth looking at this from a different perspective. It’s not only about talent or potential. It’s also about priorities and how each member chooses to shape their own identity. Heeseung, despite being one of the most visible members in terms of lines and center moments, hasn’t built as distinct of a personal brand as some of the others. Meanwhile, members who have had less screen time and fewer lines have still managed to establish clear individual identities outside the group. That’s what still confuses me about Heeseung. Since I-LAND, his image has largely been built around being “ENHYPEN’s ace” and “ENHYPEN’s main vocalist.” That became his identity. Looking back, even during I-LAND, he came across to me as someone who thrives when he has more personal space to think and create. There’s nothing wrong with that. Some people simply work better individually than they do in a team. I also feel like the earlier eras felt more cohesive because the company had a stronger role in shaping the stages and overall creative direction. As time went on, the members became more involved creatively, contributing their own ideas to performances. From my perspective, that’s when differences in approach became more noticeable. At times, it felt like Heeseung’s creative direction wasn’t always fully aligned with the others’, even though they all shared the same goal. My own interpretation is that after winning the Daesang and renewing their contracts, the members probably had important conversations about where they wanted to take the group next. Maybe that’s when Heeseung decided to prioritize himself a bit more and focus on figuring out what he wanted as an individual, while the other members seemed more focused on continuing to build the group and their individual brands alongside it. If that’s the case, it’s possible their priorities became less aligned over time. There’s nothing wrong with that. Plenty of idols pursue solo opportunities while remaining fully committed to their groups. Building an individual identity and contributing to the team aren’t mutually exclusive. I just think Heeseung’s priorities may have been different, and that could explain why his path has looked different compared to the other members. One thing I also don’t like is how you constantly use the other members to elevate Heeseung. Heeseung is talented enough to stand on his own. You don’t need to diminish or compare the others just to make a point about him. If your argument is that he’s exceptional, then let his own work speak for itself instead of using the other six members as a benchmark. And to be honest, I don’t think his solo debut was as spectacular as you’re making it out to be. In my opinion, it hasn’t made the impact people expected, and I still don’t think his personal brand is established enough. Whether he’s truly sustainable as a solo artist is something only time will answer. Right now, I don’t see his current work as a groundbreaking product that proves that yet. And FYI, all ENHYPEN members are popular. They came from a survival show, so each member has built a loyal subfandom and a large audience that supports them. I genuinely think that’s one of ENHYPEN’s biggest strengths compared to many other groups. Instead of having one or two members who dominate in popularity, all seven members have their own dedicated fanbases. That gives every member a strong foundation and the potential to build a long-term career. At the end of the day, I keep thinking about what Jungwon said: “I exist because of the group, and once that doesn’t exist anymore, that’s when the group disappears.” That mindset has always stood out to me because it reflects how much they value the team. Maybe Heeseung’s goals and priorities simply changed over time, and that’s okay. But why do you only look at it from his perspective? What about the other six members? Would you want to be in a group where one member starts prioritizing themselves while everyone else is still prioritizing the group? Differences in priorities can affect trust, teamwork, creative direction, and the overall group dynamic. If their priorities really were no longer aligned, then I can understand why going separate ways could have been the healthier option. Sometimes the best decision for both the individual and the group is recognizing when everyone is no longer working toward the same goal.

You watched a whole 40-minute episode with Jungwon, and somehow your takeaway wasn’t Jungwon’s incredible thought process, his leadership, or ENHYPEN’s future and potential. Instead, you somehow turned it into another discussion about Heeseung. Let his solo career speak for itself. If it’s truly as exceptional as you claim, it shouldn’t need to be validated by constantly comparing him to the other members or using them as a benchmark.

PD react to the Wonhee one, was so hilarious

I've not really discussed Heeseung's departure, not even on his own videos--simply to keep those videos as an observation of his work on its own. So maybe for you "it's another discussion" but for me it's not. I also didn't "somehow turn it into" anything given that the video was a veiled conversation about the group's future so yes I chose to talk about it here where I felt it was appropriate. And I trusted that anyone who has watched any of my videos knows I have been championing Jungwon over every member since the very start, and I've talked about his leadership qualities, and why he was the best choice for a leader over any of the other members despite them being older. So rather than continue to glaze him as I always do I wanted to touch on what he was talking about which is the group's future. Which I also made clear the group will be 100% fine without Heeseung and I have absolute complete faith that they'll do fine because members like Jungwon or Jay or Niki or anyone else I think are more crucial to the group's chemistry. My point was largely, Heeseung did a lot of heavy lifting early on in the group's career but now the rest of them have been shining brilliantly for a while now. And why did I only look at it from Heeseung's perspective? Because he's the one who left. Nobody else LEFT. It is very obvious what everyone else's perspectives and priorities were on the matter because nobody else left. Why are you making it sound like I am somehow disregarding and trashing ENHYPEN when I said the exact opposite? If you simply do not want to hear about someone else talking about the Heeseung situation, that's completely understandable but you make it seem like it was some big leap that I chose to address the situation about a member departure in a video where their leader speaks about the group's future after a member had just left.

Form of Therapy

I will talk about ENHYPEN's future and potential when they have their comeback. They haven't put anything out yet post-departure, so it'd be all speculation. There is no body of work to be commenting on and actually use as an example as of yet.

From what the members been saying and doing noone else will leave the group. Sunghoon said he would like to do individual schedules but only whilst staying in the group. Jay has been saying he is planning to stay as a singer untill retirement (he isn't joking) but from my understanding its something he will do after the group disband naturally after many years. Whilst Ni-ki could do well in dance and modeling and Sunoo as a variety show host (my opinion) i really dont know what Jake and Jungwoon would do. Jay has been the only one vocal about his plans to stay in the music carrier track for many more years and whilst I dont think he is ready for a solo career yet, I am certain that he will get there in time and will have a successful career as a soloist. He does have a very distinct personality, interests and just that star sparkle. Not to mention he has gained a lot of recognition for his vocals, guitar skills as well as his looks. Regarding Heeseung leaving - i wasint surprised. He wanted to release solo music for a long while. I actually thought he wont renew after contract end, I was disappointed in how he left without notice , before a world tour and without finishing his contract. I feel the fan reaction would not have been so viotile if just didint renew. I dont know how much you know what was (and to some degree is still happening in the fandom but it was BAD) fans who wanted Heeasung back planned black ocean for enha and tried to raise funds for furneral flowers to send to enha type of bad. Where Jungwon had to say on live -enhypen is 6 now, and Jay said the same in Spanish and English during a concert because people were still protesting Heeseaung leaving months later. After all this there is no way any member will leave.

zel

no i don’t agree with the last part lol. okay, maybe heeseung got what it takes to be a soloist. but i honestly think he did it way too soon. it looked like an impulsive exit more than a thought out decision. they were on the cusp of an even bigger break in their career. he could’ve just finished the contract for what it’s worth. and honestly? heeseung’s edge in having a solo career wasn’t entirely something he built for himself. he was gassed up since the beginning. since the first time he showed up in iland, an image of an “ace” has been up in our faces. did he live up to it? yes and no. he is incredibly talented. there’s no doubt. but no to the point that other members are not “on par” with him or that he’s “on another level”. i think he and the company overestimated himself. and his debut… ah

zel

let that debut speak for itself. while it wasn’t a bad song, it didn’t exactly lived up to the expectations. it was a song. that’s it.
