Omg I totally see what you mean about Hwanwoong and Haru similarity, I can see their lock in into performance and the aura has crossover in the “it” factor, the sharpness for dance is there also, but particularly so for idols of their shorter frame (similar overall build too) and the power that feels balanced from them

I remember a couple months back when XLOV was on a mini tour had unit stages where Haru Hyun did Mamushi by Megan thee stallion and Wumuti Rui did Gashina—these unit songs perfectly encapsulate that vibe and I’m sure it’s bc Wumuti is a big pre planner and they had already decided ahead of time but the extent to which their unit songs extrapolate on their concert stages I COULD NOT POSSIBLY HAVE IMAGINED HOW PERFECT THEY WOULD BE

I’ve been obsessed with haru’s tone and I feel like it’s such a key part of the XLOV color, also a revelation I made since the rizz era was that TO ME Haru is the closest male idol I’ve heard who compares to Mina’s (Twice) tone when speaking English, there’s something EXPENSIVE about the affect that feels so different, and I saw that they’re from the same town!! Now I don’t have any actual facts and I can’t back this up at all, it could just be a huge generalization about this town but in my head I’ve connected the dots lol

I adore XLOV, their concept and their performances but I'm gonna be a bit of a party pooper and say that, though they all respect drag as an artwork, their makeup is NOT like drag. Drag is an exaggeration of perceived gender identities for the sake of performance. Being genderless isn't drag. Some drag queens have more understated glam but it's still a stage persona, not so much a way of generally being. I say this with love and know you weren't intentionally setting out to liken their concept to performing an exaggerated version of perceived gender. It can be hard to see the nuance sometimes because so many queer circles overlap.

They did a choreo for masterpiece , and for me it the epitome of genderless because i could see many gg or bg do this choreo without changing anything !
