i've seen a few different fan theories about this music video online and i like to believe it's a combination of a couple so here's my theory :)) joy is seen typing very passionately as if she was writing a fanfiction (she's actually typing out the lyrics but it's shown quickly) and to me this makes it seem like she's writing a fanfic about herself and the other red velvet girls and they made a music video for and about it and it's so funny. as far as the story that joy is writing goes, it seems to me like the red velvet girls are sirens and in the beginning they are caught at a fish processing place and they escape because yeri pushes a guy off a ledge. we don't see the aftermath of the fall tho, cuz it cuts to the ocean where we see surfin' boy for the first time. the red velvet sirens set their sites on the surfin' boy, aka frog man. so they lure the frog man in with irene and then yeri shoots him with the crossbow, good ole peek-a-boo style, and then yeri preserves his frog parts in wet specimen jars and then she uses his frog blood to make cocktails that they drink at the party at the end??? so yeah that's why the whole video has a very sinister undertone hehe :p and as for the parts where we're in "reality" in between i think the way that they look almost nostalgic as if they're remembering something from long-ago implies that there's some kind of alternate universe/reincarnation situation going on here too! so yes very awesome, surreal, disturbing, sultry, and summery comeback from red velvet lmao they have done it again!! my summer queens fr <3

sidenote, whoever is managing red velvet's music video conceptualizing, direction, and production is KILLING IT right now and they need to also be in charge of their promotion schedule because if we had a promotion team that cares about red velvet as much as the music video team does maybe we'd get longer promo periods and more frequent comebacks hahaha : ) wouldn't that be nice </3
