This project is so Heeseung and so present and raw to who he is in this moment it’s actually amazingly well done it makes sense since his name is all over these songs credits. I love how authentic this project is vs being stuck in a concept (don’t come for me engenes peace and love lol)

As someone else mentioned in another comment, He recently revealed he is a cancer survivor. From age 10. He shared this with everyone now because he wanted to be fully able to tell his story with this album. Especially this song. He wants to share the message to listeners that theres always hope, always keep fighting. With this recent revelation he has stated he wants to make people happy when listening to his music. The whole album is about his story, and he also felt in order to fully be authentic he bravely shared what he went through at such a young age. Watching his friends pass, being strong for his mom, getting bullied after recovery. I really reccomend you read his weverse magazine interview. I couldnt stop crying for days. He said the album is about hope, including this song. His “ain’t the death of me” is all about how he was on the verge of death but didn’t die and he wants people to have hope. I can’t wait for your reaction to the rest of the album. It truly tells his story

i'll be super honest here, so pls no hate but I wish something about this MV was different!!! i ADORE LOVE Heesung sooooo much, and his performance in this MV is SO GOOD... BUT... I HATE how Jungkook comes to my mind when I watch this MV. (and pls dont get me wrong, I absolutely love Jungkook, I'm an oldy ARMY, I might have used too strong of a word like hate, but its just because Im so passionate about these aritsts). but man. i SO wished with this debut song Heesung would instantly create a HE image, and yet I can't quite get the flavor just yet. As an example (and I compare these artists between each other because I absolutely fcking aodre all of them and support all of them) when Yeonjun came out with GGUM as his first solo it was so 100% him like noone else came to mind and it was a very HE brand song — starting with the song itself and the MV as well. But here with Heesung I felt like something was missing... it felt like an explosion of talent yes, but it didnt give me a brand, a trademark to remember Evan by and it fcking kills me :'(
