Yeah I agree! As much as I love Mark on Me for its cinematic aesthetic it’s definitely the weakest song on the album. The album as a whole is such an upgrade from the last one in its cohesiveness and replay value.

One of the things that really gets me about Night to Howl as someone who grew up on pop punk is that the mixing engineer on the track is Zakk Cervini, who has worked with SO many groups very close to my heart as a teen (Simple Plan, Blink-182, Bring Me the Horizon, All Time Low, etc). Listening to the track you can feel so much of the core of that sound mixed with J-rock melodies and what feels like quintessential Soma Genda and &TEAM sound and I can't help but love it. Like you mentioned, a lot of pop-rock in kpop doesnt always hit the mark, but this one felt like a freight train 😭🩷

god i love night to howl with a passion.. they said they based it around overseas fans because they always bark at them at concerts 🥹 (i was one of them when i saw them in Incheon)

I love this album a lot!!!! I would say that I like the back to life album as a cohesive piece of work but this album has songs that i like more than back to life album. Good boy was a grower on me, i didnt rlly understand the song and it felt rlly overwhelming? until i listened to it a few times. I thought accelerate would be my fav as well and then i hear empty and i wanted to CRY. And then i was hit with night to howl... like ITS SO GOOD, MAKI VOCALS AHHH Im just baffled with maki as a vocalist bcus of how versatile he is... Like he's not just good on every song, he excells in every song. He also really knows how to use his voice to deliver emotions.

Night to Howl really gives me that really nice Anime OST vibe like if &TEAM were to adapt their Dark Moon Webtoon Series into an Anime, Night to Howl would be the Anime Opening theme song for Dark Moon: Grey City. I love love it so much. And their vocals never ceases to amaze me.
