I agree with you that his method was wrong but I fear with this system and parents nothing legal or logical will work it seems like. Again not justifying his actions but still gotta admit the reality. Also this is why despite this drama being so high rated and always so hyped, it wasn't really my fav cause like you said, it doesnt really have much substance going for it in the cases department and you only stay for the characters, which is frankly not enough to give a hight rating for kdrama in my opinion.

I think considering this as a "courtroom/law show" is a bit misleading. Yes, that's the setting, but it's really a character-driven slice-of-life show that uses court cases as a vehicle to reflect on or progress our characters. You pick up on a lot of it usually, like the strict binary system being a reflection of Minwoo's own thoughts in this episode. It's realistic that they aren't always given morally righteous and winnable cases, what matters for the show is how each character thinks about and deals with each case. To say that you care more about the characters than the cases isn't a negative in my opinion, because the characters are reflected through the cases.

Out of the whole show this is probably the case I hate the most. Mainly because of how when this was released a lot of the viewers of this show were literally DEFENDING his actions and him. I remember watching the episode and going online expecting to see people saying he was in the wrong and etc but I never saw one. Ever single comment was about how he didn’t have bad intentions and the parents were overreacting I was shook. In my head I was like as viewers we know what happened but in the context of the show nobody truly knows what happened in the woods. And his character annoyed me so much because it felt he never truly took accountability for his actions. Like he needed help.

Yeah, kidnapping children is never ok and will never justify anything. But I do get why the writers didn’t add just cases we sympathize all the time. I feel like that’s just how life goes for attorneys, they get cases and defend clients, even if they don’t like them or even if what they did is against their personal beliefs. And yeah, even if I’m also against it, attorneys also do sketchy things haha I could never be an attorney for that matter
