Riandama

Given-taken jihyun and jiwoo was so good 🥹

Sven Lenders

Thoughts on the Attention stage: I felt the same way on the people you pointed out, they caught my attention (no pun intended) the most. The others I feel were too focused on the performance and maybe smiling more than actually having a good time. When I look at the close ups of their faces, they all kinda seem a bit worried afterwards (even the ones that did quite well) This is what I would rank them as: Chanelle (Might be her American roots taking over but she was smooth with it) Yunah (best execution of the choreo probably) Moka (I could feel like she was into the song, but also a bit held back) Seoyeon (I could have put her above Moka if she was a bit more stable on her skills here) Jungeun (probably the best skill set off the weaker ones but it felt like she forced herself a bit too much to smile instead of feeling the song) Himena (kinda the same critique I had with Jungeun, feels like she is too happy, like her smile feels unnatural) Yuisa (probably the weakest performer of this stage, because I feel like she was sometimes showing she was struggling on stage) These are the points they recieved: Chanelle: 626 (Deserved) Jeongeun: 603 (Bit high imo but alright, but I think she didn't do that much better than Seoyeon for example) Himena: 599 (I get why but I think she didn't do that much better than Seoyeon for example) Yunah: 581 (this stage wasn't really her style I feel, but In think she could have ranked a little higher) Seoyeon: 575 (Honestly feel like she was robbed here, she did quite good) Moka: 517 (must have been her shaky vocals sometimes) Yuisa: 438 (I feel like they just like to rank the worst member way lower than the others to make it more nerve wrecking who is going to be eliminated)

Something I did want to discuss last episode but I forgot about is the fact that they recieve a group score, which the judges talked about being really important to convey the performance the right way, without synergy they feel like all seperate performers. But the group score is made up off solo rankings put together and devided by the amount of members. So in the end you would be better off performing well on your own instead of it feeling like a cohesive performance. Like last week was the prime example Moa's team got praised for their synergy Minju's team got scolded for it not feeling great Moka's team score: 550 + 540 + 519 / 3 = 536.33 Minju's team score: 626 + 572 + 564 + 440 / 4 = 550.5 So Minju's team won despite them not being the better TEAM

Also what is the logic behind Hyewon and Chanelle both being moved from M to H, both having recieved 626 points and Hyewon being ranked 1st while Chanelle is ranked 7th. Like it makes no sence at all

Cristine

At 59:10 it shows that Hyewon got 676 and everyone else's ranking

I feel like if you are the leader of a team and you have the power to decide everything, that is like a trap set up by the producers to check if you are able to sacrifice yourself to get a better outcome for your team. Some people are strong enough to do so because they know others suit it better and do everything they can on their 5 second part (some examples of people that are good at it would be Bang Chan, Jiwoong, ....) and others are a bit too greedy and want the center spot or their favourite spot. I think Yewon is not confident enough (here) to show the judges what she can do with 5 seconds. Because you can rank high despite having a short part (the shorter the part, the less to f*ck up as well 😂😂) (also I think the fact that she says they were leaving her out because she was less experienced is not a valid argument, because they did check your audition and also you agreed on doing the audition. So accept that you didn't get the part because it suited someone else more or go dictator mode and keep it, but not back down afterwards)

I think the argument of "I am less good than the others so I only get smaller parts" is valid, but I do think the judges have different standards for each trainee, take Wonhee for example, she is worried that she isn't as good so she gets the least parts, but the judges only know stale face, not good at dancing Wonhee. Show them the Wonhee that is improving so she can get a bigger part next round and show them why you should be in the final lineup. While someone like for example Yunah was ranked 1st at the start of the show, so judges expect her to go with a bigger part, and expect her to kill it without (major) mistakes. If she does, then they are happy and they can confirm she is on line to debut. But if she fails it might be time to lock in for her or they will drop her. That's what makes being new the good thing, you can show improvement rather than perfection.

Imma be honest, that Dream of You stage was terrible I kinda feel like vocal wise everyone underperformed (I get it is an intense choreo, but you still have to sing a song). Performance wise I feel like Jeemin, Moka, Ruka and surprisingly Wonhee did a good job. I honestly can't say much more on this stage...

Sven Lenders

Ah, that makes more sence, the wikipedia page did not include bonus points, that's why

And again with all of the song choices in this round my question still is “why did ILLIT debut with a cute concept?” It’s not that i do not like it, but it is weird seeing they mostly do different concepts on the show.

I agree with you about the Given- Taken challenge. I think the difference between the two was so obvious and low A was so much better. They did quickly flash the scores when they showed the ranking. I think the biggest issue with this entire competition is that it seems that the judges about halfway through ( so we are getting close to that) were told to give the younger girls the better scores. You will soon see that judging wasn’t based on performance, potential or skill and the fans became extremely frustrated online.

UGH JIWOO MY GIRL THEY DID YOU SO DIRTY

aylalala

When I first watched this show, I always thought the 3 leaders should have been the highest 3 girls in HIGH - feel like that would have made the groups more balanced

Syndra

Jihyun and Jiwoo got robbed

lissie

jihyun is incredible !! she was one of the trainees i voted for from the very beginning even until we had the 3 ppl voting. (my 1 pick was yunah so i had to lock in for the end) but the given-taken performance was genuinely life changing for me then, especially when it comes to jihyun & jiwoo! youngseo as well, really shined in this.

the scoring & judges feedback was very frustrating at times so definitely be prepared to not agree with them sometimes 😭 although it’s been years, i really appreciate your thoughts & that u’re doing this show now. this show was so stacked with talented it’s kinda crazy! so glad that a bunch of them have debuted by now (still hoping more i loved, will come back in the future!) but i also just love illit so much since they’re one of my ults & im so excited for you to get more into them !!
