It was very difficult for me to watch this because like you said, I was aware of all the shit that goes down in kpop. This whole cycle is fucked up indeed and in no way healthy physically or mentally. Actually seeing it, hits differently. I appreciate the transparency they’re showing throughout this series. I wish more people could listen to what you said about being self aware.

I hope that through this series atleast those who watch this with genunine intrest, tries to atleast understand how hard it is for these idols to show the side we see everyday. How much they sacrifice thinking thats what they should do, while fans keep criticizing their actions, spying on their personal lives and judge them believing its there right to do so. They are human are deserve soo much more than what they get. 😔

In my Opinion Kpop Companies rank from "incredibly abusive" to "okay". Being better than OK isn't even possible in this industry even 8f you wanted to treat your Idols and Trainees incredibly well because the Trainee System and being an Idol in general are simply things that are incredibly harrowing. The Problem is... These Systems work, they bring us incredible Artists that perform amazingly simply because the system basically works them to the bone to improve. Kpop in general is a double edged sword. I have been into Kpop since 2008 I think and it took me a long while to realize how fucked up all this is. I'm from Germany and don't speak Korean so I was lucky to find subtitled Videos or translated Articles ec for ages, till Kpop got a bit more popular and there were more communities for it online.

I've already kinda seen this other side with bts in burn the stage and I felt so bad about the whole situation and seeing this also with seventeen makes it even more real and more impactful and I wish we could do something about it but like you said PD this is how the industry works at the moment and this wont go away unless we are planning on changing up the idea and the structure of how kpop groups work and what they do and their kind of entertainment which isnt happening anytime soon.

It is hard to watch (ep. 3's even worse, just to give you a warning), but I feel like I - we - SHOULD watch, out of respect & as a penance, of sorts. I'm well aware that they system's beyond fucked up, and that me doing things like buying access to all four of the first Beyond Live concerts knowing that most of the artists were doing them (multiple concerts for several of them) in the midst of comeback prep and/or promotions (or 2 or 3) only perpetuates the issues. So I feel like it's my duty to make myself acknowledge the ugly side so that I, 1. am more grateful for everything they do for us, and 2. don't forget the price at which my happiness and entertainment comes. If Seventeen's brave enough to not only go through it but then share it, then the VERY LEAST I can do is be brave enough to watch it.
