i thought it was sad they didnt do the whole emotional goodbye for Geonu as well, since he was really close with most of the ilanders! but maybe it was because Taki was a lot younger? idrk, iland is just weird sometimes 😭 but loved the vid and the background PD!

Fun Fact Jake and Sunghoon have the same 'personality' type and throughout the show, fans have been calling them 'The Best friends' cause they're always together. must say. im a JakeHoon fan aswell 😩

Well, I think because a lot of idols have friendships outside their group, they will stay close. It's just that their bonds within the group are going to grow even more stronger :)

Wow, it's cool to see PD become so emotionally invested in these kids. I'd never watched a survival show before, especially not while it was airing, so I don't think I fully got why companies these days love debuting groups through these shows before I watched I-LAND. You really do become so attached to the trainees and genuinely route for them and want to support them.

my god i remember how much i cried back when the episode aired and now again and taki wasn't even one of my faves 🥲 but he was just such a pure and happy person that i was truely sad to see him go

this was a very sad episode and there were some serious points made, but the 'BooSeokSoon looking different' comment, Beyblade let it rip, the Shield recruitment video (and more) all had me rolling on the floor. i laughed way too much

This was kind of a filler episode which is why they had prepared all the emotional stuff. I don’t think it had anything to do about Geonu at all- it was purely a scheduling thing. There were only 4 tests in part 2 but there were 6 episodes, so two episodes didn’t have a live test performance.: episode 7 used BTS and the top 12 announcement as the filler. The timing of the live voting affected the filming of this episode. The show had always been pre-recorded, so they needed to have the boys do something in the meantime while waiting for the first global elimination vote, which is why they did the mini test with Seventeen. And with the global voting, we were made aware of the mid-ranking from the I-Land website while the voting was on-going, so that also affected the ranks. I remember people panic voting for Jay, while people didn’t continue to vote for Jake because they thought he would be safe having the last day of voting doubled. I think the feedback from the BTS test really affected global voters’ opinions of both Daniel and Taki.

I was gonna watch the whole show with you, PD but I kept on spoiling new members for myself -.- so I ended up binging the show. I was so so so surprised at everything, it was not expected. Every episode was a wtf even knowing who were going to make it at the end.

About whether the members of Enhypen will be able to keep in touch with the trainees that got eliminated. I think they will. BX from CIX recently mentioned that he's still in touch with Treasure's Doyoung (apparently Doyoung sulks if BX doesn't pick up), Seunghun and BX showed support for Ciipher's new song (member Keita was in YG treasure box), SKZ Bangchan is always talking about his idol friends who were ex-JYP trainees, ONF's MK was eliminated from the show that made Monsta X but now he's got to meet the Monsta X members as an idol. I think it depends on the company and whether they allow the members to be open about trainees who left. And they are bound to meet professionally if the other trainees also debut. So I'm sure some of the Ilanders will keep in touch and others will drift apart but that's just life.

I won't say who is in Enhypen but they did mention that they are still in contact with some of the eliminated contestants, they have a group chat together. I'm sure that they don't talk often though as they are really busy but Its nice that they kept some form of contact!

Enhypen will have their first comeback on April 26th which I think is perfect timing since you will finish I-LAND soon according to the schedule! I really hope you check it out and see how much they've grown. I can tell you right now they are a million times better now than they were in I-LAND, not saying they were bad but now you can definitely feel they are Idols with great chemistry, and they are definitely more comfortable in front of the camera they're very loud and funny lmao

Jakes double voting only lasted 24 hours out of two weeks of voting and by announcing he had that privilege he lost a lot of votes bc his fans thought he was safe and they could use their votes on others. It was a very big f*** up on behalf of the show producers and if Jake had gone home for it I would have RIOTED

Random thought I just had....I don't know if anyone has already mentioned it or if you have already seen it on Viki (maybe even filmed the reaction by now?), but the last episode is roughly 2hrs 40 min so...yeah, a lot more emtional turmoil is coming -.-'

I remember Jungwon said in a v-live after enhypen debuted that he bumped into Hoshi and Dino n the restroom at an awards show and they talked to I'm and congratulated them for winning rookie awards and stuff. And then in a separate v-live from seventeen they were saying that Hoshi actually got really attached to the i-land members and monitors them a lot. I just thought it was really cute lol

I'm slightly embarrassed to admit it, but it took til Enhypen's debut showcase to realize that Chamber 5 was referring to a 5th chamber of the heart. 😅 They picked this episode to really hone in on our emotional investment, that's for sure. 💝   The first time around, watching Jay get 11th & agonize for most of the episode was nerve-wracking.  This second time it makes me want hug him & a pat him on the head & reassure him that it'll be fine in the end. 🥰 No spoilers, PD, but Hanbin's pretty popular.  Since you're rooting so hard for both of them, I'll also just slip in a reminder about you once saying that having K & Niki in a group together would be redundant. 😋  On to episode 11 next week!

This is my first time watching iland and I don't know why I keep noticing the cute relationship Heesung and Jungwon have! Every time I look at either one of them, the other is right next to the other, they seem to always want to be together. I especially like how Heesung seems to care for Jungwon a lot and I think it's very endearing and sweet to watch their relationship.

I loved this episode, it’s nice to forget about the competition for a little bit and see more of their personalities, heeseung warming up to like aegyo and not being shameful about it, so cute and jays poor hand when he was writing those letters, broke my heart. This emotional ride isn’t over, still more to come 🥲

I know this is old and someone slightly mentioned it, and I've only watched part of your reaction so far but as far as the midpoint rankings go--I'm in an enhypen gc with my close friends and we all watched it together. At this point in time you could only vote for 2 members and this worked very strongly against Jay because a lot of his stans were also stans of Heeseung and Sunghoon. They were called the "bighit trio" as they were all previously bighit trainees. But Heeseung and Sunghoon had more stans that ulted them so once ppl could only vote for 2 members, people mostly dropped Jay, assuming he had enough fans to carry him fine through voting. However that wasn't the case. So when they revealed the mid-point ranking to us at the end of ep.9, people PANICKED cuz it wasn't that people didn't like Jay, in fact he was one of the most popular! So people thankfully adjusted their voting. I remained firmly voting for Jay and K through the entire show.

same lol been voting jay and K since the beginning but when we could only choose one i had to choose jay in the fear that he won't make it but was devastated when the results was announced that K didnt make it. but tbh i wouldn't pick anyone else for enhypen than the current line up anymore. I think K will do much better in his own group especially with Taki who he shares a really good bond with.

im like so late but to answer your question at the end about if they're still talking to each other after debuting as enhypen : Niki has mentioned multiple times that he's still really good friends with Taki and K and often call them with their phones. Geonu, Jimin and Sunghoon recently met in Inkigayo.It's safe to say that even though Enhypen might not have the time to hang out with them, they still kept in touch.
