The song itself is really bad tho.. and that’s coming from someone that has loved BTS for 5+ years now

R875d

Maybe you don't like the autoton and somehow I agree with you.. But the song it's self great and addictive 😭😭😭.. First listen I was like "what?.." but more I listen to it more I like it.. Also check out their live ver of the song 😭💜

B

Personally just find it a bit "childish"? It feels like a kids version of a BTS song which is kind of sad. But hey tastes differ right. I'm glad to see so many people love the song :p

R875d

I feel like this song is about hope and happiness.. It's really what we need this time 🥺🥺💕.. Also the fact they use sign language at their choreography make me love it more.. But anyway yes we all have differ tastes 👍

When is TXT’s album listening party being uploaded?

Oh.. a bit surprised by the comments here? As seventeen as my main group and bts as second, I feel like i'm the only one who genuinely loved permission to dance. I totally get why a lot here doesn't like it, I just personally love it because i'm a HSM fan and i got the same vibes. If PD doesn't like it, it's definitely fine to not upload a reaction, but I'm kind of thrown off by the comments here - yes, we are open to all of our own opinions, but PD hasn't viewed it by themselves yet.. Y'all have to chill, saying you don't like a song and saying a song is BAD are different, no matter how much i don't like a song i never impose that it's bad to others because whether it's good or not is subjective to people. It's the same point PD made about the aespa-next level hate. People worked on it, if you don't like it ok, and YES it's okay to criticize, but there are better words we can use when doing so. While i'm at it i am sorry to for this long comment but since this is like a thread of thoughts i'm leaving this. I too want a korean proper album, anybody wants that for sure. But at the same time I understand why they are prolonging the release of it - BE was supposed to be an unpromoted korean album, full of music that just came out this pandemic. Albums like MOTS:7 are promotional korean albums, and im pretty sure that they're prolonging as much as they can, the release of another promotional korean album, because the MOTS:7 tour is heavily delayed due to the pandemic. Releasing a new promotional kr album would mean the entire MOTS tour set will be adjusted and/or the MOTS:7 will be put into side. Now that it looks like concerts aren't coming back soon, they might release another kr promotional album realizing that it will be too long to wait for the concerts to resume. I don't fault bts for releasing feel-good western targeted english songs. They also release tons of japanese songs. I understand why people don't like it, but I personally don't mind. I think it's definitely difficult to me to enter multifandom spaces like patreons like this where multiple group contents can be seen. I definitely cannot handle negativity. Again, criticizing and opinions are very open to me, but I just feel like a lot of it are so overused to the point where it feels draining. It's like people can't even praise an artist anymore without being criticized for doing so. We can't even watch bts on pd's livestreams without the chat being filled by 'bts has changed' 'i miss old bts' and while those opinions are valid, PD has addressed this already and has said their thoughts about it. I wouldve personally loved a more chill chat where we just enjoy and see contents without people arguing about that. This is in no way PD's fault, but PERSONALLY, it's a turnoff for me how every BTS praise in their community youtube or patreon livestream is overshadowed by backhanded compliments and forced criticism. These are all my personal insights and i just really wanted to speak up about it since ive been keeping it for a long time. There's probably more groups here that also receives multiple criticisms but I specifically highlighted bts as they are my second ult. I just wish we could actually be more wise with the word we choose in stating our opinions not only to bts but all matters in this patreon. I don't want the negativity ruin our patreon experience.

As I said in my comment I am not taking away from it but you can't point anything out to stan Twitter without being a "hater" or being told it doesn't matter. I did not say they don't deserve to not have it be recognized as I realize it is not a competition. My son has a physical disability so I personally would love to see people with all sorts of disabilities promoted in MVs like this. But I know these kinds of issues are not seen the same way over there as they are in other places. Regardless, it was annoying to say the least to be told the way I was. I love BTS but for me they are not going in the right direction especially after multiple times they said they would basically never do this type of thing. Is it bad they are doing English songs even though they said they never would? No, but they way they are being made to. As we all know music is subjective. And I don't think people who like PTD are "wrong" because an opinion isn't wrong or right. However, that doesn't mean I can't have my own either. I just feel this is not the direction they would want to be going themselves. BTS were always about their music. Dynamite, Butter, and PTD have a list of credits a mile long and none of the members are to be seen in them. That is not BTS imo. We can not like the song. As shown in these comments here just proving the point as well: you speak up against it and we are "hating or entitled."

sizzle_flower

I listened to PTD once and I HATED it. I listened to it once again and I didn't think it was that bad. Been listening over and over now and I don't mind it anymore, but definitely can say the English language is not their forte.

B

Their English stuff just does not match the standard that is BTS. The songs are just catchy earworms ment to break into the international market even more. But it makes BTS lose all the charm they had and what got me into them. The songs aren't written by the members and it shows. PTD is the worst offender of this so far.

First of all you liking 5 years does not give you some sort of higher rank

Petra Fuss

Reread this and then rethink who you are??? The entitlement and audacity you wrote this with is baffling to me

Aysha

just because you didn't like it, it doesn't mean it's a bad song. many people liked it so by saying that its bad you're implying that everyone who liked it has bad taste in music. what's wrong with it sounding kid friendly? there's nothing bad about it and honestly music isn't about it suiting someone's age. people can like many types of music and music catered to different ages. i know it's your opinion, and i respect that. but basing your opinion and not liking it because it's childish and its different than their old songs? that's what i don't understand. because bts are not the type of artists who would stick to a genre and never experiment with different genres. this song is a gift for army and its has a beautiful message and gives us hope for the future.

Aysha

i wholeheartedly agree with you. also, i don't get why people are so against the idea of artists experimenting with different styles of music. i mean no one stays the same. if they do, then people would get bored. but with bts, ever since lys her fans have been criticizing bts and saying how much they changed and then keep saying how their albums are bad. like they trashed tear album so much in 2018 and now tear is their best album? how does this make any sense? and i'm also glad they released their english songs. with the pandemic, i don't think they'd want to go all out with an album they can barely promote however they want. mots7 had so much planned with connect, bts and the tour.

R875d

I totally agree with you.. It's just 3 songs in english and is not like they stop making kr music!!!.. To be honest the thing make BTS different is their chalenging them self.. I mean I always say that BTS have their own genre. because they try a new style every time.. When I heared PTD for first time the only thing came to my mind "so they try a new style again"...PTD is not even their comeback song, so I don't get why people being so serious about that, and be like "oh I miss old BTS" or "they stop doing a real music".. Like why???!!! May you don't like PTD but that doesn't mean it's bad, most of ppl who said they didn't like it on the first listen changed their minds after they listened to it again .. They work really hard and they always have a good message at their music, not only that but they change their color often... To be honest as an ARMY I feel bad for the boys.. People stop listening to their music by their heart insteade they try to find something to complain about.. [as you said it's fine to speak up your opinion but don't make it as fact] (sorry for my english, It's not my first language, but when I read your comment I couldn't help)

I don't think people criticizing Tear and people saying Tear is their best album are the same people. (In fact, I saw a lot of hardcore army criticizing tear while...giving Her a pass somehow?) While some criticisms are overblown there's far more positivity, and sometimes to a toxic degree. It's very hard in any Kpop fandom, but especially large ones to voice anything negative about their newest comeback without getting labeled a hater for disavowing the song of the year. I didn't like Ready to Love but you can't mention that around Carat spaces. While groups "experimenting" is nice, I wouldn't consider a song that they had no part in and is commercially engineered to be a hit to be experimental. Also, sometimes experiments fail. That's the point. BTS has better uses for their time than going through the motions of tripe like this, even if that usage is just resting. I don't think they need new Korean albums; they just need to stop--stop being online all the time and have some alone time. But the fandom has become so parasocially dependent on them that would cause a riot. If you don't like negativity, the best advice is to not engage with it. Block people if you have to, but if criticism sets you off you need to disengage with it.
