And so the journey comes to an end... What an incredible show and for me, personally, a lot of valuable life lessons. What did everyone think of the show?

I wish all these videos existed. Think it's time to use drop box or something. Itaewon Class was the biggest reason I subscribed at 15. Along with a lot of other vimeo videos not working or having a link directly to the website itself, can't watch 70% of whats on this patreon. Love all the reactions I can see though.

not my favorite show tbh, but it was enjoyable, especially as it was my first kdrama last year (aside from he is psychometric). I found the last few episodes to ruin the show for me personally, but it's not my least favorite drama either. I loved your reactions to it! And i find myself enjoying it more when i rewatch it with you. Ia ctually disagree, though, Yiseo did do some mind games. She knew Geunsoo liked her and she kept flirting with him (the first time we see them, she is asking what bitch he's talking to and acts jealous), leading him on and even verbally said that if he won jangga co, he'd win her. She's just as bad as Sooah in my opinion with Geunsoo, cause she was telling him to wait for her, but unlike Sooah, she didnt like Geunsoo at all. She does let him know she's using him, but Sooah sort of does that too with Saeroyi.

Was anyone else surprised to find out the actor for Jang Dae Hee isn’t even 50 yet, he did such a good job acting old and on the brink of death I thought he was way older

I’m not a very Kdrama person (or really a finisher) because I have started a lot of dramas but usually end up dropping them near the end just out of my lack of interest I guess? But Itaewon Class really was one of the few that I watched weekly when it was airing because it had me on my toes on how it was going to go. I do think the romance subplot was kinda weak and the two actors don’t have the best chemistry (I mean watch Park Seojoon in What’s Wrong with Secretary Kim and that’s chemistry). But I really wasn’t invested in the romance I was just “I don’t care as long as he doesn’t end up with Sooah”. Overall I’m glad you checked this one out! I can’t wait for the next show we will watch I’m hoping it’ll be something a little lighter since we’ve been doing all these intense shows lol

I really enjoyed how they ended this series. I feel like they closed each story enough that at the end and nothing felt rushed. And the closing of Jang Dae Hee and Saeroyi was amazing because it really showed how Jang Dae Hee didn't even realize that he lost everything because he was so focused on being in the right where as Saeroyi really grew from his loses and had a bigger goal and found a new purpose. I feel like a lot of people didn't like this final because of the increased focus on the relationship with Yiseo, but I like this episode for this reason. After so much suffering he is realizing that the people around him is what makes him happy. Just a GREAT PACE of the story. I never felt that they rushed on anything because of the development of each character. Also all the characters had such raw personalities and human elements. I LOVED REWATCHING always makes me cry for the last two episodes.

PD can I make a reaction recommendation? Please watch Leedo's cover of Start by Gaho. Since you know the song now. It is a really good cover.

I really liked this journey, even with it being my second watch. The show definitely has its flaws, but in my opinion the good parts are reallllly good and more than make up for the bad parts. By the way I didn't know that until a few days ago, but the actress playing Soo-ah, Kwon Nara, was an idol in the group Hello Venus

Having heard you, I really would like to recommend you another drama 'My Mister'. The story is obviously very different from Itaewon Class. But it has such a healing vibe to it. The drama depicts daily lives of people and the human-to human connection so serenely and in a unique way. It was critically applauded in Korea for its plotline.

If ever you're planning to start another show for drama club I would really like to recommend Prison Playbook. It's probably one of my favorite k-drama of all time. The cast line-up is amazing. Same director for Reply series and Hospital Playlist :)

Brianna

Wow this took me all day to finish, had to watch in parts. This drama was brilliant. I think it ended really well because it was an ordinary ending. It wasn’t overly dramatic and a happily ever after type feel. They just became content with their lives and finally were able to live in the present rather than focus on the future.

honestly i was so surprised to find out that not everyone liked this show and I do understand the problem of some ppl with the romance between yi seo and saeroyi, but i still find this drama so epic and one of the best I've watched especially bc it kept me so entertained I was always waiting for a new episode to drop bc of my curiosity of how it was going to go

Doyoungismyult

I seriously vote for watching “Extracurricular” next! The main lead is Dong-Hee Kim (aka Geunsoo from this show). The drama is dark and twisted and has you questioning your morals at every turn and who to root for. I highly recommend it. 🙏

Doyoungismyult

I also recommend maybe watching a comedy next (the funniest one I have ever seen is Waikiki) you will be laughing so hard that you might pee 🤣🤣🤣

Jillian Johnson

Itaewon Class is also one of my favorite kdramas. I think this is the third time I've done a full watch through. As I get older I like characters that are more complex and you don't necessarily like all their decisions, it feels more real. The longer I've lived the more I realize that good people do bad things and vice versa and I like seeing that reflected in media.

For the Next drama I would Like to recommend the drama DUEL is a thriller sci-fi drama kinda underrated but it's so good

Viviena

I LOVED how it ended. Both in the way Saeroyi ended up with Yiseo, which I totally buy (people who rooted for him with Sooah are legit weird for me though I like her character). But even more so I love how they finished ALL subplots and really took their time with it. I wish other shows took this approach!

SB

I REEEALLY suggest you check out the drama NEVERTHELESS!! Much less conservative than the typical k-drama and also deals with topics that are a bit taboo in Korea. I'd love to know your take on it!!

Nick

I googled him after you said he can sing. Here's a video of Toni (Chris Lyon) singing the theme song 'Start' with the original singer Gaho. He's totally not bad. https://youtu.be/x7a1g_D9dls

Liz

I'd like to recommend Extracurricular, it's a much heavier drama with heavier topics and it's quite nerve wrecking I don't know if you'd like it but it got me hooked and the actor that interprets geun soo here is the protagonist, it has only 10 episodes if I remember and I think it's gonna have a second season

flowerbit

That’s actually her???!!! Omg I was always thinking “why does she look like one of the girls from that Wiggle Wiggle song”

flowerbit

A lot of people find the main couple in that show reallyyyy frustrating though

flowerbit

I really enjoyed this drama. I feel like it’s one of my favorite shows. It definitely left an impact on me. All of its flaws were things that don’t necessarily bother me specifically so I enjoyed it wholly. I’m glad you guys enjoyed it too!! Just to drop in my drama suggestion I like Crash Landing On You which is part romance part action. It’s about a rich South Korean woman who accidentally finds herself trapped in North Korea. Lots of action scenes, lots of drama, and a healthy amount of romance lol

Apoorva Varma

Extracurricular 10/10 recommend. So twisted, so good!

Nevaeh

I highly recommend extra-curricular I’ve watched the show twice now and it still thrills me if you are looking for a little show the uncanny counter is amazing too !!

Ayeyassha

I think this is one of the shows that I will come back to often. I think I would like this more and more when I get older. I already love it now

Malaki.H

I would really love to see you watch the devil judge next!!

Malaki.H

"WHAT IF THIS BABY BECOMES THE NEXT HITLER?!" that cracked me up

Oyku T.

I would love to put Extracurricular on your radar, the actor who plays Jung Geunsoo here plays the main role in that drama

Delphine Vdh

I really hope one day you'll be sarting Alice in Borderland. It would be really cool to have a japanese drama AND very different to what you've seen as for now!

Tayyip

I would love you to watch startup

Marlin Alvarado

I recommend that you watch Taxi Driver, The Devil's Judge, or Move to Heaven

Kyrasawa

Watching Alice In Borderland would be awesome for the next drama, and also I love Itaewon Class, is one of my top 5 kdramas of all time

onyx.

alice in borderland is one of the best shows I've ever watched, highly recommend as well

NM

the dude who played the bullied nerd turned asset manager - he's the serial killer in hotel del luna I think?
