wow. I remember that there was a huge upset between HYBE stans and CARATS when it was announced that SVT would be getting an in the soop after BTS started it. there was literally war on every social media platform because carats thought HYBE was ruining the group and forcing things on them while army/moa were insisting that HYBE was giving svt opportunities that they wouldn't have had. anyway… 2 episodes in and this doesn't even feel like in the soop. It feels like an extended TTT episode or something. svt brings their own unique flavor to shows and I wish the HYBE family would just get along with the new step kids. it's getting exhausting. PS: Coups reminds me of my dad. He'd be dead asleep but as soon as you call his name he's up

Yeah Yeah

To hear you explain their informal-informal relationship was really interesting and gave an even deeper insight to how close they are, so I have an ever richer appreciation for the bond they share. I love your Seventeen reactions a lot, thank you for providing us with enjoyable content to watch along with you and make sure to do things at a pace that is healthy and don’t overwork!

The conversation between Dino and Seungkwan is literally my favorite part in this episode. It's nice to see them just casually talking with each other without having the pressure to be funny. Their bond is truly amazing I've been stanning them for more than 2 years and I haven't found any group who has the same relationship as they do. As they say Seventeen is more like a family to them rather than just a group of friends. Looking forward to your interection on the next episodes so glad i'm rewatching this.

I’m incredibly envious of them for having each other in both their personal and professional lives. I haven’t been this so emotionally drawn and invested in a group since gen 2 kpop. They also give off gen 2 groups kind of closeness (eg. SHINee), Idk how to describe it, it’s just the vibe I get. I feel like it’s hard to really get into groups these days if we’re talking about dynamic wise because there’s this sense of competition I personally feel among the members? Especially those that came from survival shows. To me, they feel more like coworkers than friends. Even if they do become friends, like you said, there’s just this other layer between them caused by them meeting later on.

Will watch this one whilst waiting for Attacca LP! Aaahhhh! Am excited 🤩

ghee is such a south asian ingredient used in cooking dishes, you can only really get it in south asian stores or the world food section in supermarkets in the uk so i'm shocked that they sell it in shops in korea tbh. i've heard of people using butter for bulletproof coffee but never ghee so as a south asian i was a bit taken aback lol.

It made me so sad when that was happening. You could call me a HYBE stan I guess (because I'm an ARMY, MOA & Engene) but I'm also a Carat and it's so frustrating that a huge part of the fandom is so aggressively anti-HYBE and even anti-other groups within the label. I have no idea where that hostility comes from, I've only seen good things happening to Seventeen since then. This show is a prime example, it wouldn't have been possible otherwise and it's such a well-deserved rest for them. You can tell they are truly happy while filming. This show only has a HYBE-flavor to it as far as the production quality goes, but other than that everything about it is so purely 100% SVT.

Form of Therapy

It's very strange and it's a really rare relationship in Korea. EVEN between REALLY close people, young people do not drop formalities with their elders. Even if you're just one year apart in age. It 90% only happens with blood relatives and even then IMMEDIATE family members.

Form of Therapy

Think of it like this: It's like becoming friends with someone when you were 15 and becoming friends with someone when you're in your mid 20s. It's just different.

Thank you PD! I really love their relationship not just with each other but also with each other's parents. 😊😊❤❤

Wonwoo doesn’t even said Hyung to 95 line😂

Diana

Ikr, he does but not all the time. And also whenever DK or Mingyu go "You idiot," I'm just cracking up like "Wonwoo, you're the hyung!?" xD Love them

Diana

I think that's just what I feel as well. I'm happy to the point of being envious that they have such good people in their lives (each other) and that they have such a good, tight relationship. I always enjoy all their content so much, be it variety or reality or just behind-the-scenes, whenever it's two or more of them just talking or being together, the vibes are so nice.

Chloe

yes their relationship is so unique!! there have been so many times i've noticed where younger members don't even use 'hyung' and I was kind of surprised how often it happens. especially when it's like dino, i think it really shows just how close they are and how much they cherish the relationship they have and i'm so so happy they have each other. like i get so jealous sometimes of how close they are

wow ive never realized svt doesnt speak with each other in a formal way i thought at least some of them did but now that you mentioned it really makes me think even more how their relationship is special and that moment where dino and seungkwan are talking gotta be my favorite this episode, it was such a sweet and heartwarming talk everytime i see things like that i feel very grateful knowing they have each other and this incredible bond it also makes me kinda envious too to have such a bond with that many people

gigglyseal

i've seen a bunch of "banmalteen" compilations on youtube and it's always pretty funny and honestly endearing how they speak so casually with each other. what i will say is that svt have such a special relationship, i honestly don't think i've seen a closer group (and there's 13 of them!!). i think of like nct dream, who all met when they were like tweens and teens and they're pretty casual too but like not exactly in the same way? especially when you see how close the svt members are not only to each other but with their families as well. i'm not saying this to dismiss other groups' relationship but it's just different. i also think living together in one dorm and sharing one bathroom for a while definitely helped with that - thinking about some of the stories they've told of their trainee/early debut days, their trainee lives seemed really tough so i guess they bonded a lot going through it together!! they show a lot of how close svt are in this show so i'm looking forward to the rest of the reactions!!

Svt in the soop makes me smile for an hour straight without even realizing it

god i’ve been wanting for a korean person to talk about svts relationship in regards to honorifics for such a long time bc i have noticed what you’ve pointed out too but considering i’m not korean, i never was 100% sure if i was right,,, so getting that confirmed makes me rly happy, thank you for explaining it & giving a lil confidence boost to my korean :D also as you said, im so jealous of them/their relationship, it’s so special & like,, im just so glad they have each other figured out the way they do bc you can genuinely feel their closeness through the screen at any point of any video, i love their dynamic so much :(( also i feel like it makes their life bearable even in hard times,, just knowing you have 12 ppl who love & know you this much…

svtcaratft

Wow thank you PD..I didn’t even know about formal inform Speech …it just proves that they are truly family 💖💎

I found that kind of relationship in fromis_9 as well, despite they all just met on survival show and ended up debut together unlike svt that trained together, they all use informal language. And what more interesting is they rarely use "unnie" to the older one but instead they called it with 애칭 (pet name/nickname) like saerom to romsae, gyuri to gyul, hayoung to hanyang, etc. without using the "unnie" after it. But if they called with 본명 (real name) they'll put "unnie".
