If you're a Kep1er fan you may be pleased to hear that my FIRST IMPACT listening party is nearly an hour and a half long. If you also enjoy my really deep, thorough analysis and reviews, this video is worth getting hyped for. My brain was playing 5D chess and I think I've figured out ALL the problems people are having with Kep1er's debut. It might also be the most belligerent and angry I've ever been in a video.

Also the most fun part will be addressing the question should 'MVSK' have been Kep1er's title track? My answer is NO. I totally understand why most people think it should have been, but we'll get into a long and deep discussion and analysis in the video next week. Stay tuned!

*PS: If anyone has good suggestions for any Kep1er content for February please comment below with links :)

For February kep1er -view is their first show, there are only 2 actually episodes for now tho, I think maybe the filming of certain things was delayed because of covid-19, they would have debuted a few days after ep 2 but then yeah so idk what's going going happen with that tbh, maybe they will continue it as a long running series or make a new show, i'm not sure https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLQv1U2oSD8oAurlbSpTBZUyvgH032YBTD Also I'm exciteddd, I also agree mvsk shouldn't have been title track so i'm excited to hear what u have to say

HappyFoal28182

I look forward to the belligerence lmao. And I agree that mvsk shouldn't be the title track

zbyndagram

Yes! I definitely agree that MVSK would not be as good choice as wa da da for a title track. Can’t wait to see your view on that

Giu Bressani

I also dont think so! Especially for their debut. While it's a very good song, I don't see it as the tone they would like to set for the group from the get go

Anonymous

i agree, mvsk is amazing but it's not a title track type of song

Malaki.H

Not a kep1er fan but I'll look forward to it 😊

Taj carter

Although it shouldn’t have been the title track, it is the song on the album IMO!

kie

i personally think it should’ve

Cherry

https://youtu.be/GmwYL1RAHqI Kepler’s silence of idol appearance!!! It’s not that long, only 15 minutes, but it’s really cute and shows how close the girls have become in such a short amount of time

stylesniklaus

For me, MVSK is a fantastic song, my favourite from the album, but i don't think that it's a better title track than WA DA DA, it has not the same impact at all (though it's a chef kiss b-side)!! I don't think i can't wait anymore with all this teasing omg!!

Tony L

I agree, MVSK is really good but for me personally it’s not as addicting as WA DA DA. Also, I feel like many groups can recreate the sound of MVSK but not as much for WA DA DA. Hopefully that makes sense!

I like MVSK a lot but I do think WADADA is a better tittle track, but mvsk is still an amazing song but more like a bside, I will say tho WADADA is growing on me a lot is so catchy and addictive

Duncan

Hyped for the belligerence!

Anonymous

Agree, i prefer mvsk over wadada, but i get why wadada was chosen as the title track

Aurayaya

Nah definitely not

looking forward to it!

I'm always excited to hear your thoughts :) Can't wait for you to finish uploading GP999 and I'm happy you like all the girls especially my queen Xiaoting hehehe. Bonus that we're both CARATS too hehe.

Rebecca Le Minh

I don't think so because wadada is constantly stuck in my head even though I personally prefer mvsk!! It was the natural choice for a kpop debut, I think. Whereas a title track like mvsk in the future will highlight their growth after having had wadada stuck in our brains for all this time

Diana

I definitely don't think MVSK is title track material. Do I think it's a track with better line and center distribution? Totally 😛 After a few listens, I really like Wa Da Da (love the oh, oh bit on the track, not on the choreo 🙈), I could just like it MORE if a few things were different. I'm curious to see what you think those are

Kry -

There’s kep1er view which is two episodes long it’s on YouTube under m2 There’s the debut show too it’s also under m2 on YouTube I also recommend watching silence of idol it’s short but so funny

Doyoungismyult

I still think any other song should have been the title track. I was anticipating there debut so much and I was so so disappointed. I don’t like Wadada at all. It does not set them apart in this vast world of kpop. It is generic and boring and has no wow factor whatsoever

ThatPatreonThough

It’s their debut, it’s not gonna be for everyone. I remember seeing people not liking La Vie en Rose when that first came out because it “didn’t sound like a debut song.” You can’t please everyone, but I’m just hoping they have a plan for comeback title tracks so WADADA fits cohesively. Because they know it’s gonna end. Kep1er has an expiration date and it’d honestly be such a good idea for their title tracks to make sense together as a package.

M

I have a feeling you're gonna put into words exactly how I was feeling about their debut mini album lmao Although I prefer MVSK by a lot, I think Wa Da Da was def the best choice for a title track. Also you might want to check out Kep1er View (there's a bonus video of 20 min that's worth watching too, it was cut out of the the second ep., but it's one of the more entertaining segment where they share things they wanted to tell each other) Ep. 1:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6el0ZjBa2ks Ep. 2: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9103eOIXgQs&t=2541s Bonus: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=icIBrgZP9F0

yes i agree too , it doesn't have the same power as a solid title tack

OPAL

waiting for it, I hope u drop it today

Gabi 高书逸

MVSK could be a title track with a little more touches here and there for a third or a fourth comeback cause I think the debut and the first cb’s are important to introduce the group’s “brand”

Marcia

Agree, I don't think mvsk would be a great title track. It's clearly a bside. But I don't know if wadada was the right decision either. Its catchy but I expected more. Also not every member got to shine in the MV, sadly. I just hope the comeback will be better/feel complete

Emma Ko

Despite preferring MVSK as a song, WADADA is a perfect title track and the perfect debut song. It has all the elements of a good title track: catchy melodies, ear worms, simple choreography, memorable killing parts etc. One thing I wish was maybe a little different about their debut was for the two songs to be a little more similar. There’s a very drastic difference between the sounds and concept of WADADA and MVSK; I personally think it would’ve been better if there was a little more cohesion w the new songs

Anonymous

MVSK is a cool song, but esp. for a debut I wouldn't say its the best title track choice. Maybe when they have like their 4th comeback etc, then you can try styles like this for titles as well. But for a debut i think Wa Da Da was good. I still recommend Silence of Idol, it was sooo funny https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GmwYL1RAHqI

Christian Oettl

I think MVSK is personally a better song overall, but also think it's style is so different it is a "classic" B-Side and probably was never really in the running for title. There's just some points with Wa Da Da, especially for those who watched the Show, that wasn't quite right. I mean you have Hikaru and your not using her rap enougn and Bahiyyih was barely present in the video too. And I get that they seem to go away a little from the classic roles of K-Pop (at least it seems so with no official positions announced besides Leader) but that also leads to something missing for me.

Dia

Yup, MVSK is a really great song and I could see that type of concept for a title track, but the song itself is clearly not constructed as a title track. Looking forward to your thoughts in the reaction

babymetalic

absolutely not, the song just isn't title track material. people were so afraid of them having a dark or mature concept and when they didn't people got mad?? i rlly dont understand it

Tiye Crews

I agree, my biggest issue with the debut isn't Wa Da Da as a song. I actually think it's pretty solid for a TT, sound wise. My issue is the distribution of lines and screen time. I get a lot of Kpop companies want to be unorthodox with their groups, hence why we don't have classic Kpop group structures with set positions. But Kepler IMO needs it. and that's not necessarily meant to be a bad thing.

FRANK

So excited for the listening party!

Joy

PD, can you also react to their mvsk stage! It's so so good!!

Maca

i'm just gonna copy and paste what i said in a comment on the safe cave's channel: see, this is how i felt about "ponzona" for purple kiss' debut. it was the right song for them for their debut even if "skip skip" is the one most people favored on the album (except ironically, i like "ponzona" more than "skip skip" haha). "WA DA DA" isn't a perfect song - there very few songs that are considered (essentially) perfect by the majority of people - and i prefer "MVSK". that being said, "WA DA DA" is an ambitious effort for a debut, and it draws people in. as with purple kiss, whatever you thought of "ponzona", you will probably still remember the group's name because they say "baby purple kiss on bloody top" in the lyrics. it's a statement, it is bold, it is different. similarly, kep1er is the only group that can have "kep 1 going WA DA DA DA" in the song, and i think people will remember them for it. as for the "oh oh oh woah" moment, i mainly think the choreo is a bit awkward and feels kinda like it was thrown in as a callback to "O.O.O." rather than being a fully cohesive part of the dance. the way it was arranged in the song was also a little jarring, especially on the first listen. i think it would work much better if they only did it in the last chorus, and instead had a different post-chorus that transitioned more smoothly into the next part. but overall the song is enjoyable, catchy, and has grown on me a lot the more i listen to it. my biggest disappointment is really just the line distribution and division of screentime between the members, but that will hopefully get better in future comebacks + b-sides. it's a solid debut, and i think if people had not built all these expectations about what their sound and concept might be like they would have liked it a lot more. but kep1er still has plenty of time to grow, and they have the chance to go in any direction with their music because of how flexible this debut is as a starting point.

Anonymous

i think the same as you. is MVSK as good song? yes, it's incredible. however, not every song "deserves" to be a title track (even less, a debut song). MVSK is definitely the best bside in the mini album, at least imo, but with Wa Da Da being right there, there's literally no reason for MVSK to be the title track. you can just tell that Wa Da Da was made to be a title track. if it had been a bside, most of yall would be saying the same thing, "why wasn't WDD the title track?". MVSK on the other hand, was made to be a bside, it really wouldn't have worked as a title track. it's lacking a lot of aspects that make a title track a title track (idk if that makes sense) and that doesn't mean the song is bad, it just means that the producers made the song with the idea of it being a bside since the beginning. again, the song is amazing, but it just wasn't made to be a title track unlike Wa Da Da

onyx.

my answer is no too and i would love to hear your explanation and reasoning when it's released!

serenity

I agree MVSK is (in my personal opinion) undoubtedly better than Wa Da Da if we're just talking about music quality and showcasing the member's capabilities. HOWEVER, MVSK would be a "boring" title track." These days people have short attention spans so a song like Wa Da Da is perfect as a title track. I know for a fact if Wa Da Da was released by an SM artist everyone would call it an experimental daring track lmao

Aiz

I don't think MVSK has the potential to be a title track either, simply because it's charm is in the minimalist(?) sort of more laid back sound and it isn't really as eye catching as a title should be! I do agree that its a better song I think, and I do like it better but I see why WA DA DA was chosen to be the title. Can't wait to listen to your review!

Jotho

For February you can watch Kep1er The Silence of idol - Studio Choom and Chekitaka ! They are a good entertainer so far !! Can't wait for your litsening party

Curious to hear your thoughts about the album! In my opinion I saw two scenarios of people that disliked wadada more loudly: 1) people that saw line distribuition first and quality of the song second. If they were not satisfied with how the line distribution went they dismissed the song as bad. About that all I'm going to say is it's fine to be disappointed but people getting more aggressive about it need to step back a little and get out of the GP999 battle mode kind of mentality. The girls are a group now and they don't need to be constantly pitted against each other. 2) people that really dislike teen/girl crush because they consider it generic noise disjointed music or simply wanted an elegant/cosmic concept like Izone and WJSN (and I suspect that's why a lot of people wanted Mvsk as the title track). Like someone said you can guarantee that some people would complain that the song is generic and that they were just trying to be Izone 2.0. Hell if even Lightsum got flack with some people saying that Vivace is just an Wallmart version of Izone's Panorama (and Vivace is GOOD) they would have done the same to Kep1er's Mvsk specially since it's even the same composer/producer of some Izone/WJSN tracks. Kep1er is already compared to Izone enough as it is in other things and I think it is for the best if their concepts don't overlap 100%. It's impossible to please everyone anyways and even if people don't like the reason why Wadada is the title track the reason is simple. Besides being catchy and fun it literally has 2 hooks that are perfectly fit for TikTok challenges. The first part of the chorus for idols that can actually dance and the second part (the thumb dance) for celebrities that can't. I was never on the side that wanted Mvsk as the title anyways since I actually like Wadada and the "oh oh oh" part grew on me with more listens.

希文 王

I'll admit I've probably watched all the wa da da stages, the oh oh oh part has grown on me (though I never did think mvsk should be the title track). something that I really appreciate about wa da da (and the girls in general) is that they really go hard in the first part of the chorus' choreography, there have been some songs/groups (can't remember who and even if I did I wouldn't name them) that have these songs and choreos that are supposed to go hard, but they just look cute and soft which totally ruins the vibe for me, and while mvsk is a cool song with cool choreo, it's really not a title track (and like some people have mentioned, probably not the vibe they want to set for Kep1er, and the comparison with Iz*one would be even stronger

fl0w

There's a small subset of kpop fans who are actually into kpop for the music - strange, I know - and one subset of this subset just happens to think their debut song is a bit shit. I'm one of those people and let me tell you, there's nothing 5D about it. I couldn't care less about their concept or whatever - the music has to grab me first, everything else comes after.

Angie

that's how i feel about aespa personally. Like, i remember people already stanning them before they debuted and i was like "how...you just know their names and faces??" but that's just me. I stan many groups for their friendships, personalities and dynamics, but the music usually has to grab me first, then i truly stan when i like the members too. I don't think i stan any groups for the concept, cause most of the time, the concept is just the same as any other but with different vibes or styles.

IHateBeingAKangaroo

You really went straight for it xD But I agree completely. On the same boat. Even today i was talking about that. Most of the top tier music is in nugu/mid-tier groups. But they'll never be big because most kpop stans actually don't give a rat's ass about music. Or the hierarchy of groups wouldn't be virtually completely stationary, no matter what happens or what is released.

fl0w

That is exactly right. Basically if you don't sign with one of the big 4, it'll be hard to ever get the momentum going. I tend to do a weekly catch-up on everything that's new - it really doesn't take that long if you know where to look - but most people wouldn't go to the effort, because that's not what kpop is about for them. Which is fine, there's no 'correct' way to engage with the medium. But it IS a tad frustrating still.

M

Yes, there are def different groups of people who look for different things from Kpop - I think you put it into words perfectly! Like you said, I know some people who can't get into a group unless their music hooks them first. I'm in a different boat where I like some groups solely because of their music (so I practically only listen to their music and not their other content), and other groups I like because of their variety content, the members, etc. For the second case, it's usually only a matter of time before the group releases a title track and B-sides that I really vibe with.

Anonymous

My answer to your question is an easy no. MVSK, while it is more consistent and cohesive with its sound, does not really have "the thing" that makes it title track worthy. I personally haven't come around and listened to the debut single — only really listened to WA DA DA and MVSK 😂

ultei

i thought mvsk was the best song on the ep and i really liked the choreo for the song. but it doesnt play like a title track and i think i would be confused if the company made it the title track. wa da da suits being a title track more.
