Idk how many people care about this, but I really just want to applaud whoever arranged the order of the tracks on this album. It’s really amazing how hard it starts off, steadily mellows out and ends on the winter musical that is Beautiful!

Someone on twt said Earthquake sounds like a 127 Japanese title track, I think it’s pretty accurate?? OK! Has become the ncity anthem recently! Henderys position is rapper in WayV PD hahah, Yangyang both raps and sings NCT 127 and Dream official fandom name are both Nctzen, 127 and dream members mostly say czennie, for WayV it’s WayZenNi

Myself and several of my friends agree that Birthday Party should’ve been what Work It was, especially considering that all of the Work It unit members are in this song (with the exception of Ten and addition of Chenle and Shotaro)

If you want to get into Dreamzen territory, I suggest to do a listening party through their single album and 5 mini albums. If you minus the title tracks, it’s an average of 5 songs. Since you watched 7llin in the Dream, you will hear songs you heard in the series and to hear the growth in their voices. (Personal Dream bside favorites: 1,2,3, 119, 7 days, dream run) If you want to get into WayV, 3 mini albums and 1 full album. Bside faves: domino, good time, unbreakable. “Know now” is my favorite song on the album next to Dreaming. Birthday Party is Jaemin’s song esp his signature “woooooooow”. Also rumors are Dream or WayV will have a comeback first and soon while 127 prep for their Japanese tour.

I realized while watching your patreon content that we have similar taste in music and well, that we are dreamhoes lol (dreamzen!), so the songs I expected you to like in this album listening party was dreaming ofc, know now and maybe birthday party?? what I didn't expect at all was your opinion about sweet dream but obviously as you commented it is something personal. also, you skipped a song in the final ranking, so what would your ranking be for know now?

you should listen to mad city for a more aggressive rapping from mark and taeyong! also, hendery and yang yang are the rappers in wayv about the album i have the same exact opinions as you, i mean, for real, you said everything i think about it, it is really just amazing

PD I definitely think you should check out the “Awaken the world” album by WayV to get to know their discography, it’s amazing, one of the best NCT unit albums that exists imo I also mentioned this on another post but if you decide to do NCT content in the future I really recommend their YouTube stuff, that way you could mix different units contents since they’re shorter format like 2 part shows. I think it would be more fun for ot23zens, and it’d help get to know the units better. I don’t think you’ve done any WayV content really and no 127 since Late night Punch Punch show in 2020 (I don’t think you even finished it tho)

PD I had a really good feeling about most of these songs (especially Dreaming) and I was right! tbh think I just have really similar music taste to you, if I don’t like an rnb or ballad song it’s usually the kind you’re not a fan of either, and Sweet Dreams was one of those. Sad for me since Haechan is my fav but some songs you just don’t vibe with ig. Also, celebration time, PD has officially claimed the Dreamzen title, may WayV come out with an album soon so PD can hear more of their music too ;)

NCT as a whole has a very distinct sound but as you said, they do a really good job at distinguishing each fixed unit's sound with a few overlaps here and there. For me NCT 127's sounds are experimental mind melting music that is somehow addictive, rnb, and club/dance. NCT dream definitely has a brighter sound but when they go darker it's still youthful? Like chewing gum is bright and Hello Future is harder hitting but it's still just as youthful in my opinion. Wayv has some major out of this world, celestial type shit going on and it's amazing or they have some of the most sinful songs in NCT. One thing that always surprises me with NCT and the units is their ability to shock me. With every album, I always think "there's no way they can top this" and yet I always am left in awe and claim their latest release to be their best album. It's weird to think that in April, NCT as a brand have been around for 6 whole years when their content never has gotten stale and it feels like they're just getting better and better. I watched their debut the day it came out (when people thought it would just be a 5 member group 🤡) and it really doesn't feel like 6 years have passed. It's also crazy how they were considered SM's biggest flops in the beginning but in 2021 the group overall over 10 million albums which set a record

We actually have a lot of similar opinions aka Dreaming being an 11/10! It's THE BEST and I knew you'd like it. The track video is also so cool! I was most curious to hear your thoughts on OK! and Birthday Party. I really couldn't guess if you'd love them or not, but I'm glad you did :) Birthday Party is so weird but it's somehow so catchy! Sadly Vroom is very boring to me and as you say, there's no pay off. It's the only song on the album I haven't saved. Overall, fave songs for me are Dreaming, OK!, New Axis, Universe, Earthquake, and Know Now. Johnny's singing in this song was so nice and I wish they gave him more singing lines than rap/hypeman portions. I honestly don't think he has a good delivery for rapping. To me he stands out more when he sings (especially in Korean compared to English, idk why) Also, it was so nice to hear Sungchan sing on this album! I thought he could only rap so that was a lovely surprise!

Like you said, I think it’s incredible that each unit has their own sound and yet at the same time they’re all so ‘nct’. I love so many songs on this album but my favourites are definitely Know How and OK! There’s just something about Know How that’s so addictive and catchy.

Aww PD, you missed the final rank for Know Now! What is it for you, in relative to the album? It's my personal fav off Universe like despite its upbeat, chill melody it also made me feel like I'm thinking back on my past which made more sense when I realized the lyrics have this comforting message to it! And how they play up the lines in the prechorus and chorus!! There's always a slight change and I just love how it sounds. Round&Round is another song I absolutely adore. It's a vocal driven song that isn't a slow ballad/has rap (mind you I do love me my ballads and vibe with rap) but it's a nice change a pace, you know? Lyrically, there's a kind of sad and hopeless feeling, but the melody and feel of the song itself has a sensual vibe to it? Like you said, it's sexy~ Getting all three of my biases from each unit which are Jaehyun, Haechan, and Xiaojun in one song, very satisfying 😌 Also something both songs have which I wanted to hear more of was Sungchan singing! While he is mainly a rapper, I really liked his tone and delivery in All About You from the NCT 2020 Resonance repackage album. My third fav song rotates depending on my mood bc gosh all the songs are just soooo good, but today I'll go with Ok! since I was very much vibing along to your reaction to it. This song was one that I thought you would lean more on loving, and the general consensus is that everyone vibes with the song. I have Apple Music and it actually has the little star next to it like Universe (Let's Play Ball) does which indicates it's a popular song off the album! Miracle and Dreaming were also a 'for sure you would love' to me, and Birthday Party was a surprise!

This album may have topped Resonance for me, but both are so good that I have a hard time choosing ;-; I'm so happy you enjoyed the album PD! After listening to the album for about a month, my favorites have slightly changed. My top 5 are: 1. OK! 2. Miracle 3. Earhquake 4. Birthday Party 5. Round&Round I hope you get around to learning more about WayV. I feel like this album really helped a few of the members shine. Especially YangYang and Hendery. Their discography is pretty amazing. Awaken the World is one of my favorite albums they've released.

Seems like a lot of people missed but PD actually rated know now a 10/10, he rated know now and ok in the same sentence! My most listened songs of the album are definitely dreaming and birthday party, both are just so fun!! I adore vroom's prechorus but like PD said, it does not pay off which is disappointing but I still to it bc half the song is chenle and jisung and I love their voices. OK! gets stuck on my head a lot but it's a bit too repetitive for me ig so I probably mumbled to it on my own more than I listened to the whole song.

I really love Birthday Party, especially because it's so weird XD It has all the "Work It" members except Ten but plus Chenle and Shotaro, so I would have loved to see some behind videos with them interacting, as the "Work It" unit had such amazing chemistry

i think as an overall body of work i prefer universe to resonance, although resonance has some of my fave individual nct songs. They really got to showcase new sides of them both in their units & as nct u. i LOVE 'Dreaming' by Dream & am so glad that they got to show a new, mature side of them in 2021. 'Earthquake' is a classic nct 127 song that they killed & the track video of it is amazing. 'Miracle' is also a sound Wayv have never done & for me Xiaojun & Kun really got to shine on it. I completely understand why they chose to have only english lyrics for it due to the political climate between china & korea, it just makes it easier for wayv to promote it in everywhere instead of having to have two versions. i think other than the unit songs and title tracks, 'OK!', 'Round&Round' and 'Know Now' are my favourites. 'Birthday Party' took a few listens to grow on me but from the first i thought Jaemin & Jisung really got to shine and stood out on the track for me. Out of their slower songs, 'Sweet Dream' has to be my favourite, Taeil's opening is just heavenly. Also i'm pretty sure Sungchan's role is a rapper yet i didn't hear him rap at all on this album, but i'm glad we got to hear more of his vocals since i really love his voice. Welcome to the era of becoming nct trash lol, especially dream trash like myself.

For me, if I compare Empathy, Resonance and Universe, it goes exactly in this order from the best to the worst. With Empathy it was so unexpected, really fresh and cool and basically the most of my favorite songs are on this album. Resonance was good, but maybe because I had really high hopes and also I was waiting for that literally 2 and half years, it didn't come up to my expectations. But when I compare it to Universe now, I appreciate it more than Universe. With Universe it didn't feel even as a year of waiting, it was so rushed and quick, so I actually didn't even enjoy it enough, only two songs I replay time to time are New Axis and Beautiful.

Hell yeah, Yang Yang is a rapper! I don’t know, who is main and who is lead between Lucas and Yang Yang in WayV, but they are like Mark and TaeYong in 127. And yes again… Hendery is as well a rapper in WayV, he is definitely „the third one“ there, but still he is a good rapper.

PD's "oh no I'm becoming an NCT bitch!" is the single most relatable thing they've ever said 😂 first, I HIGHLY recommend that you watch the track video for Miracle. It only makes the song better- takes it to a 12/10 in my opinion. Miracle and New Axis were my stand outs on the album overall and Dreaming! I'm with you on Sweet Dream- the song does nothing for me. Ok! and "my baby says she wants to dance with a ghost, she wants to leave me" has become the anthem of the whole fandom. I think all the members on that track did a tik tok video for it too. It's a good album but nothing really hits to me like Make A Wish did though. That remains THE song that made me a nctzen.

I feel like PD's following a similar trajectory regarding NCT as I did. I had always checked out their music, but nothing REALLY caught my attention until Boss & Baby Don't Stop for NCT 2018, and from there I started watching more NCT content & actually stanning the group and here I am 4 years later, praying for 127 to come to my nearest or even second nearest big city on their next world tour. Once the get their hooks into you with one song you just get sucked in to the whole freaking.....EXPERIENCE that is NCT & there's no turning back. Dreaming is my favorite song on the album (HC's "I've been dreaming~" is ICONIC); followed by Birthday Party because yes, that song is crazy & weird in the best way; and Round&Round for the bliss of hearing my two biases (Ten & HC) on the same song. And finally: "Dreamzen" is the term for Dream's subset of the NCTzen fandom, and Hendery is, in fact, a rapper. 😁

I love this album so much, im so glad that you like Dreaming as much as me!! The second I watched the track video on youtube I knew that it was gonna be one of my favourite songs and it definitely was! I love the fairy like hook and you mentioned that it sounds like those music boxes and I totally agree. My other favs on the album have to be New Axis, Earthquake, OK!, Round&Round and Miracle. Such a good album!! NCT killed it in 2021 for me personally, everything they put out was so good!!

honestly this album is my favorite album from nct as a whole. the production quality on each song is top knotch. def agree that the drop for that prechorus totally dropped the rating for vroom :') favorite songs have to be ok, dreaming, miracle, sweet dream and round and round the songs i thought you'd like were miracle and dreaming definitely considering the track record from hello future era :D glad to see i was right lol
