'Heidi, Girl of the Alps' is an anime from the 70's based on a swiss childrens book and its about a little swiss girl Heidi living in the alps together with her uncle and her friend Peter. Is both beloved in Japan and also in Europe (as a German I can at least say, that its still well known here) Oh and regarding your question at the end: As someone who grew up near a relatively well-known German mountain range (even if it can't compete with the landscape of Switzerland) with lots of tourists, I can say that you "take it", i.e. you don't perceive the landscape as special anymore. After I moved to another city for university and am now at home less, I can say that it was eye-opening to see the landscape again when I visited home. You get used to your surroundings very quickly, I've noticed, and I also believe that even if the Alps are so incredibly gorgeous, you get used to them yourself at some point.

I was born and raised in Switzerland and to be honest, I used to hate it so much. I couldn’t wait to finish my education and get out of here but I started studying hospitality and eventually got an internship as a receptionist in a typical swiss hotel that had a very typical swiss restaurant too. A lot of tourist, especially if they want to get a true swiss experience, come stay at our hotel. I book tours in other places like seen on 'Twice in Switzerland' (I am based in Zurich) and give recommendations on what to do in Zurich or other places. People tend to come back from their day tours and tell me all about it, show me pictures and so on. At first, I didn’t really appreciate Switzerland but all these people being excited to be here, those who were fascinated about our nature truly made me open my eyes a little more. I used to hate going on walks too but now it’s some form of therapy (seriously wasn’t intentional lol) for me to just walk around my neighbourhood and appreciate the nature around me.

I am so stoked for you to watch next week’s episodes! They’re some of my favourite of this series

Heidi is a pretty famous anime/cartoon series for children. It's playing in the Alps, not sure if it's in the Swiss or German Alps though because it also takes place in Frankfurt, a big German city. That series is huge among children and especially girls here in Germany, I know that my mother watched it as a child, my older brother watched it, I watched it myself and now even my niece watched it and grew up with it (they even made a remake of it with modern style of animation for the younger generation). I always assumed it's a German produced show but found out a few years ago it's acually an anime from Japan which is probably why Sana knows it so well as well.

PD they play the song every episode, you even said it made you love the song. But you REFUSE to say, "hmmm awe it's Signal era!" It's so funny hearing you name every other era!

The next episodes are legendary for dahyun, if I'm remembering the order right
