As a swiss resident I'm fairly certain that it was filmed in spring (April/May). That would also be the time I suggest visiting. You have nice warm weather (most of the time ^^) in the cities and the places with a lower altitude but still snow higher up in the mountains. Although where they went you will have snow more or less all year round. I'm sure you would love it here... definitely a trip worth your while. I definitely wanna visit the west coast of the US... someday

I've also had so much anxiety about traveling since covid... especially since I saw many people not being responsible around me, I started not trusting anyone to go anywhere. But then I went on a trip last January to Spain (so it was just a two-hour flight, I was able to come around) and it was worth it, we just chose to eat out less for example, but when I saw all the pretty landscapes and being far from home was truly stress-relieving. I was actually more stressed about coming back to Paris! So yeah travel anxiety was hard to overcome but we managed and I hope you will be able to soon ^^

To answer your question, I think mid to end of April would be the best timing. We rarely have snow in the cities at that time but there are still lots in the mountains before it melts with the arrival of Spring. You would also increase your chances of having great weather which is crucial to fully enjoy the landscapes. everyone else already wrote april/ may but i would recommend to come in summer too! there is such a calminh vibe in july/august and everyone goes for a dip in the lakes (super clean) and swiss people tend to become less cold…(oops) but then I would also recommend to visit during christmas time when the christmas markets are open, it’s truly magical:)

They have a small Skywalk over Grand Canyon West if u want to experience something similar but on a less extreme scale. Super cool
