I’m 21 years old and I am now just learning how to cook. Ever since my grandma died in 2020, I’ve been living alone and I had to basically learn everything on my own. At first, I watch youtube videos for recipes, then I tried doing them without watching the videos. It is definitely a trial and error, but I eventually got a hang of it. Like you said in the video, cooking is really easy once you know the basics.

i think it all comes down to the person if they are interested or not. my parents always cooked, i never had to cook for myself, but i often observed them, i was always curious and that further expanded into me watching cooking (and travel) shows where i also learned a lot. then, as a teenager, i started cooking meals sometimes for my family (i also baked a lot), but it wasn't out of necessity, i just wanted to. i also think that if you had to fend for yourself because of working parents it would be easy to eat a bunch of frozen meals, boil pasta and heat up the sauce, etc. so ultimately, i think it comes down to - do you have an interest or not. i do also find it surprising that some people don't have what i consider to be the basics, like some of the boys here never having used a knife before. never thought that was possible haha but they did a really great job! and they asked good questions too! the episodes are getting better and better and i'm excited to see if they bring this type of content back soon!
