this episode is where you start to get the first Real hints of their chemistry, but this is NOTHING. so i'm excited to see your reactions moving forward. it still cracks me up that it was almost a universal reaction to this show to be like "they are really good actors. but sometimes it feels a little Too real." so congratulations to them for getting married irl recently LOL also, the company five + seri are one of my favorite ensemble casts in recent drama history. tang joonsang who plays the baby of the group is only an 03 liner! so he would've been 16 during this show. keep that in mind, because he has some of my favorite acting in the show besides the main couple. definitely one of the new young actors to look forward to!

I don't think you guys are understanding Se-ri's character. She's doing everything she can to survive. She's trying to be sly, to negotiate, to use her "charm" to gain favor. She's also silly and very strong-willed. She's obviously incredibly smart (has a successful company, chosen as successor) and she's tough (ran for hours, cut herself up but didn't complain about her injuries to anyone). When she cries because he brought home a non-scented candle, it's not really about the candle. It's the fact that she's in a place she doesn't belong or understand, and she's scared... this situation puts her in a lot of danger. Writing her off as a "spoiled, privileged, first-worlder" seems really wrong, especially considering MANY of us would be rendered absolutely useless if we ever accidently ended up North Korea, of all places. She obviously IS privileged, but I think there's so much more to her.

+1!! seri might come off as really spoiled and obnoxious at first just because she's kind of floundering trying everything she can + clearly there are some things she has misconceptions about, but i hope the coming episodes will clarify her character for them! she's by no means a "perfect" character but i love that she's a character who has to constantly keep moving or else she'll sink ie if she stops trying to charm and sweet-talk her way out of things she'll succumb to panic and grief over her situation, which she briefly did. the candle was just the trigger that made her stop "moving", as it were.

I feel like a lot of people also aren't aware of it but both lead actors were already really close friends before starring in this together, so the show probably allowed them to get even closer than before but they had already known each other personally for years ^-^ I love to see them together (I love this whole cast so much)
