Snowdrop is a 16 episodes show, am I missing something ?

Just realized the inconsistency in how they set up Ju Dan Tae. If he used a secret elevator accessed through his study, why would the muddy footsteps start from the door and abruptly end before even getting near the study. And to make it look extra good, they should’ve taken the phone with them, so GPS tracking of phone, and then sent some sorta text or had Seokhun or Seojin call it, they pick up and she asks “where are you?” with no response and then a hang up. That would’ve perfectly set him up.
