So I have gotten BOMBARDED the past few days and well, I don’t ever comment on scandals or issues unless I can provide some context and shed some light or all evidence has come to light.

And as someone who’s worked with LOONA in person twice, been with them during their prep/hair stage and seen how they are with staff (ALL of them), and on top of that I have an actual personal first hand account with Chuu as well (which I’m sure some of you may already know)—I personally believe BBC is lying through their teeth and Chuu is innocent. Other previously encountered staff are coming forward supporting her as well, and frankly I can’t help but SCOFF with laughter because it’s hilarious how BBC thinks they could tell such an OBVIOUS lie and not have, oh I don’t know, everyone she’s ever worked with wouldn’t speak up?

People both online and in my real life are asking me about this and how I feel so I felt I should address it, because UNFORTUNATELY, for the people in my life anyone who doesn’t know LOONA, have been believing the articles.

While I usually wait for a legal verdict or evidence, I believe my experience with them alone is part of that evidence. I hope the truth will come out soon.

The only thing I thought, when I read the news, was: “Well… even if it was true and she did behave like that for some reason… would they have told us that the staff treated her bad at the first place??” I mean, although I don’t believe BBC statement, if there was a chance for this being a true, I wouldn’t be surprised if the staff treated her bad too…

My guess is that Chu probably had an argument with the company (a fair argument, she probably had enough of their bs and decided to put her foot down) and the company decided to add their own embellishments to make her out as a bully and kick her out. They were looking for a reason anyway. While I'm not a huge Loona fan and I definitely don't believe all idols are saints. This particular scandal just doesn't feel right. Even reading the statement put out by the company made me laugh. Mostly companies put out vague statements with some generic words that sound like their working from a template, but this statement felt like someone in that company had a a personal grudge against her. Didn't believe any of it anyway. And then I saw the outpouring of support for Chuu from other staff. And now you PD. I trust your judgement of character so I believe she's innocent. I hope she sues for defamation. Feel bad for the other girls too.

This is 1000% retaliation for her winning her lawsuit, as was not allowing her on their North American tour or to their Japanese concert, not allowing managers to help or interact with her, and not providing any transport to LOONA schedules which forced her to taxi herself everywhere. It is also to show the other members “this is what happens if you disobey” (hence the language in the statement) which is incredibly scary and I hope to God that the others are okay. BBC didn’t even tell the members they were doing this. Hyunjin was so upset on FAB as she woke up to the news and was the first to find out. I hope Chuu either finds a way to sue the fuck out of them for a second time, that she can finally be fully up front about everything that has happened, and that BBC gets investigated as apparently they might have been evading more than $37 million in taxes. I have never ever seen a company so brazenly lie and slander a member like this. But ultimately I am not surprised after the shit show that has been the last year

Since the can be sued for defamation in Korea, even if it is true, they wouldn't make such a statement lightly. It doesn't matter if you or any other fan in the west believes it or not. It doesn't. PD you should know this, if someone says something about A and publically spreads that, and with intent to damage A's reputation or name, even if true, they can be sued and found liable financially for that harm. Now clearly this was their intent. So now if it is NOT true, you can expect CHUU to sue, and if she does not, you can 100% infer that it is in fact true and she elected NOT to sue, to avoid things coming to light that she doesn't want out. If she sues, and in court people who claim she abused them come forth with witnesses HER career in variety, tv and CFs, is done. Over, the end. JUST because an idol was nice to you, who is not with her day in and day and who is NOT close to her, and who she would not feel 100% comfortable expressing her true feelings with, IN NO WAY reflects how she is daily with people who she has known for YEARS. So your whole comment here is from a limited interaction in a short period of time and you have already declared BBC liars. Maybe they are, maybe they aren't but. Korean companies and celebs in general are very careful about what they say about each other. Because of defamation laws being what they are. As I said YOU must be aware of this.. So usually the parting of ways is always listed as "mutually decided to part ways" ; for BBC to come out with this hammer, they feel pretty dam good about their position in all this, and that she likely will not sue because she wants to keep working and not destroy her career if it is proven and the details of how and what she supposedly did come to light. So you should have stuck to your regular position and NOT commented on a scandal especially one where facts are not known.

Incheonguy

doesnt matter what you believe. Not at all. BBC doesn't care about you, not even a little. They released a damning statement, which is actionable in Korea under defamation laws, and there is absolutely NO way they would make such a statement, even if true, unless they were 100% sure CHUU is not going to sue them, because even true statements can be deemed to harm someone's reputation or good name, and that has a financial liability and they just wouldn't do unless they know she isn't going to risk a lawsuit.

Thank you for speaking up about your experience with Chuu and LOONA, PD. Since you’re an orbit too, you must be as upset as the rest of us. I don’t know what in the world that idiotic company was thinking when putting out that statement. You could tell they wanted to keep it on the down low too by only posting it to the fancafe (no social media links to it or anything). But now it seems like half of the industry of people who work with idols are coming forward to share their experiences with chuu and loona. But anyway, it’s so frustrating, knowing that both loona and chuu wanted all the members to remain in the group. Other members and chuu herself have spoken all throughout the last year that they just want to be with the members together as loona. I have to believe bbc’s intentions fo kick her out ultimately come from their greed (which is something I find to be highly likely, considering some of the companies scandals regarding payment the last couple of years). But I don’t know why they’d come up with a loophole that 1. no one would ever believe and likely can not at all be proven, 2. would try to defame an artist that they’ve supposedly been taking care of the past 4 or 5 years. If this is how they treat their debuted idols, I don’t even want to know how they treat their trainees. I only hope that the Korean general public, who mostly is only familiar with chuu, doesn’t get the wrong idea about the remaining loona members, who, even if every one of them isn’t a human vitamin like chuu, they’ve all been called hard working and kind by staff and chuu loves on them incessantly. I only hope that some day we can have the 12 loona members together again. It seems like lots of groups have been able to find ways to stay together/get together again these days (like got7 or kara).

i always see your comments in here and in other creators patreon's being a little rude when you say things. im not dismissing your point but PD hasn't said anything wrong, they only said they believe she is innocent which they has all the right to say if they want, they are not claiming to have the whole truth, just fyi.

flowerbit

PD is it okay if I post a screenshot of this publicly on social media?

Christina M Villa

Aren't you the same person who just got banned from another patreon for negative language against any group other than Itzy?

Jake Twohig

@Christina M Villa Oh you reminded me who this person is. I remember seeing them on another Patreon that they’re not banned from complaining on all the non Itzy videos about the lack of Itzy content lol.

I know you’re a troll so I’ll try not to waste too much of my energy typing this. If it was only PD speaking out abt a positive interaction with chuu then that would make a differen, however within a day of the statement being made there have been 20+ statements from individuals who have worked with her sharing their stories and observations. She has looked out for staff, made sure they’ve eaten, are well rested, and acknowledges them as people no matter how low their status may be. And true or not, PD is a human and is allowed to share their opinion on a group they have dedicated so much time and love to, especially if it has to do with slander towards them.

I don't know LOONA very much cuz they are not that popular here in Korea but the media has been covering this a lot. I do know Chuu because she's been in a lot of variety programs and she is the only member that maybe most of korean netizens know. But I remember reading that BBC said that Chuu was mean to their staff and stuff like that and the majority of netizens don't believe that statement. Also a member of LOONA said that she supports Chuu (if Chuu is so mean as the company says why would someone support her). Also above in the comments someone is talking about defamation in Korea being big but it really is not that big. We've seen a lot of artists being defamed by other people and their own companies and at the end they just pay a fee and nothing else happens. Like right now the whole controversy surrounding Lee Seung Gi shows you just how wicked companies can be. Even Lee Seung Gi being this big of a star and the owner of the company said that she would do anything to make him not work in the entertaiment business again. So I think BBC is just trying to make Chuu look bad and if it doesn't work is not so big of a problem for them. Companies are doing this a lot and it's not new for koreans.

Brooklyn

Chuu choosing not to sue absolutely does NOT infer that she is guilty of what she’s been accused of. And yes, laws for defamation exist, but there still remains hundreds of defamation cases put through justice systems around the world every year, so clearly people are not deterred enough by the simple existence of laws against it to not do it. And especially not a company who has been allegedly corrupt in several other ways (that are also against laws that carry harsh punishments) and was PROVEN in Chuu’s first lawsuit to have not paid her. PD is allowed to take a stance on this (and especially seeing as he has worked directly with her) just as much as you’re allowed to have your stance. But why are you being so rude about it? Why are you riding so hard for the multi-million dollar company of a group you don’t sound like you stan in the first place??

heykaylc23

I haven't read the statement so I don't even know what BBC claimed the surrounding circumstances were but I was wondering the same thing. And what if by "staff" they meant the people who haven't been paying her or not allowing her to do certain projects which led her to make her own company. Like I wouldn't blame her if she did curse out those individuals specifically.

Lee Kiat

Never did followed chuu or loona except watching them a bit in Queendom2. However, for a company to come out with that form of statement in that tone, it seems that the intent is not to just inform the public that she is removed from the group. It seems that they are trying to defame her and tarnish her reputation. Even for cases where the removal is based on actual facts, I do not recall any company with such an abusive statement. Really gave me the impression of the level (lack of) of this company and the staff that posted the statement. Feels that the company does not seems to treat her as someone that they had work with together for a goal but an object that they want to destroy if they are no longer useful. The published statement does seems highly suspicious .

So, all Loona members except for Hyunjin and Vivi have just filed an injunction against BBC to terminate their contracts. This is the end. Loona is over.

I just kind of assume that a decent portion of the people in this industry are vein narcissists. This is an industry that collects are the 'popular kids' from high school and puts them on pedestals. So wouldn't surprise me if many of them have a giant ego. However Chuu's youtube series does involve the staff a bit. Not just the PD and writer but sometimes they'll cut to camera people as well. And whenever she's having a blast, you can see all the staff enjoying it also. I doubt you'd see reactions like that from staff if they were working with someone that habitually throws abusive remarks around. Situations like that don't happen in isolation. People are not assholes to waiters in just one particular restaurant. They're either generally friendly or they are a dick to all service employees. So I don't really buy that whole statement. I don't buy that so many people have pleasant experiences with her, but then with the staff of the company that screws her, she supposedly flies off the handle unprovoked.

Neeko

this is so telling as to who's in the right and wrong!

Anactualdog

I just don't know what their game plan was here, I'm sure they thought they could just make the accusation and people would just believe it because that's been the case for what seems like the vast majority of these power abuse accusations. But either Chuu is the world's greatest actress or she's exactly or very nearly exactly like she seems to be. I could see this being an intentional subversion of an actual argument she may have had with a manager/producer/high-level staff regarding her contract or something, as it seems like the members in general can't rely on being paid properly for their work. If Chuu's mistreatment is comparable to the grueling working conditions the other members were tasked with on the tour then she'd have cause in that too. Glad to see the support from the community, from staff, and from other artists. Sad that it looks like this'll end LOONA.
