Patreon broken links update (Patreon)

Hello everyone PD here.

Regarding older videos with broken links, basically Vimeo locked our old archive and told us to pay them to unlock it.

We just paid it YESTERDAY but Vimeo doesn’t work on weekends so hopefully if our account is restored it’ll be Monday or Tuesday!

We’ll let you know Tuesday if things change.

Hey PD, thanks for the update! There was a different kind of issue too that started much earlier than this, where the videos are simply not embedded in the Patreon posts anymore and there is text only. Are there maybe any updates on that too? Thank you 🙏🏻

PD I don't know if you saw but now patreon has its own video hosting feature ! I don't know if it's better than vimeo in terms of pricing but apparently for know creators can upload 500 hours of video for free through 2023

Are you talking about kdrama videos, or variety shows etc.? Cause if it's about kdramas...you could look at the master lists, or see if PD uploaded another post with the link.

No, it's a different issue... There are shows where for random episodes the video is simply gone, like this one: https://www.patreon.com/posts/ateez-salary-ep-62300421 I let PD know and they said they'd look into it, but so far they're still like that. And it's been 3-4 months at least so this is different from the Vimeo stuff going on.

They keep asking you guys to pay wtf ://// Have you considered using Patreon’s hosting feature? Maybe you could try them out for future videos? Stuff like bonus drops/listening parties so everyone can check it out and see if it works better.

Thank you PD!!! If Vimeo keeps asking for a fee, I think you can upload all videos to Patreon, otherwise it will be very troublesome to deal with invalid video links in the future, and you will have to pay extra to unlock them.

It will or is out for autumn in December but for summer+ it's not yet, PD still will post the movie for summer+, they explain it on the schedule pot

Yeah, the fact that they're essentially paying for a "premium" or "business" service and yet they still have to pay extra on top of that is just ridiculous.... Vimeo needs to step it up, especially since the amounts of money we're talking are not small. It kinda sucks that there aren't a lot of options for someone in PD's shoes for video hosting since the amount of traffic the videos get is... a lot. So basically there is little to no competition at least at the level of space and bandwidth PD would need which puts Vimeo in a really good position.

for some video it's not just the link it that's broken (sometime I just need to change the brower vimeo doesn't like google but bing is ok) some of the videos just say that the video doesn't exist anymore for exemple your Attacca listening party I was curious since I'm a new carat.
