Here is the release schedule for the week of January 8-14. An update video regarding Patreon changes I mentioned last month will be out on Wednesday.

I was going to go into further details of everything but just as a quick update:

  • Further changes to vaulting: I will most likely lock by the year and not by months. It’ll make it easier for us to organize and it’s better for you guys. So if you are a $10 tier patron in Oct you will have access to all videos Jan - Oct but not the year before.
  • There is a chance we may not even vault if we just leave Vimeo altogether.
  • There is also a chance that some of our old content may be gone. See, y’all think “there’s no way a professional corporation is ghosting you guys right?”



So Vimeo hasn’t replied since December 19. Mind you up until this point they were emailing us CONSTANTLY to get our money. Then we PAID them, and the moment we paid them they apparently deleted our account and have not responded to us since. And mind you the “violation” is that we did not pay them: we did. $7,000.

Just wanted to update people because it seems like we’re doing nothing but I promise Vimeo is keeping us just as much in the dark.

We are working our own video hosting system and will have more detailed updates on Wednesday.

I didn't think Vimeo could get worse by the minute, but it did. So sorry you had to deal with this, PD :( I sincerely hope you guys could find a video hosting alternative. Been a long-time Patreon and I've always seen you struggle with Vimeo.

At this point it's better to delete from your list the videos that is not recoverable anymore rather than keep paying them (Vimeo) for nothing PD, and new patrons will not ask about those old videos too since it's not on your list anymore. Hope you find the best alternative for this PD.

i know it's not on the schedule, but is there a chance you'll be doing a SKZ-REPLAY listening party in the future? it's a long album so i know it's a lil unlikely but i think even just the 8 solo songs on disc 1 would be great for you to listen to if possible!! Most Patreon creators I know of have left Vimeo a while ago and are now using Patreon's own in-built video hosting feature. Have you looked into that?

Also about the Vimeo issue- I’m not sure how or if you store your videos, but would there be a way to reupload content once the Vimeo issue is solved? Just thinking if you have the content saved maybe you could reupload if you choose a new server to host on. That would probably take a lot of work but maybe could be an idea

Also, I agree with Maddie. Please upload your update video to Youtube. This is important stuff that everyone deserves to know, not just the ones who are already paying subscribers. It's especially important for those who might be considering joining in the future. I've seen some comments of people who joined after your final December update. They feel scammed because you didn't provide the information about the missing content publicly. Other reactors like Caitlin Benson and The Safe Cave make regular public update videos on Youtube about everything going on with their Patreon. Why do you not do that?

Hey Pd, just a quick question regarding reactions to comebacks. Ily:1 and H1-key had amazing comebacks and there Is a group called limelight which had their predebut releases “starlight” and “eye to eye” like 2 months ago. You will LOVE these songs. ALSO interesting about limelight is, they are from a new company with which ikon signed now because they left yg AND yeseo and mashiro from kep1er are under the label as well and are rumoured to be added to limelight in the future

Honestly I think that’s an interesting choice on their part. I’m really hoping it’s just because they haven’t considered it and not for any other reason. Either way the serious lack of clarity is concerning especially considering everyone now HAS to pay. Imagine paying the tier for drama club only to find out after that half of it is missing…

This update should have been the first thing (or maybe 2nd) that was posted. But again, they waited 2 days. That might not sound too long but it really is. And I have no idea what the reasoning behind not making these posts public is. The same with the schedules being posted AFTER subs renew. It’s all those little things added up that make people upset.

I don't know anything about video sharing devices so im really sorry if this sounds dumb and obvious! but have you thought about moving to free websites like dailymotion ? or just post links to video files that can be shared with a lot of people ? once again I don't know a lot about these things but Vimeo really seems like a PAIN so maybe you guys should just give up on this platform and find free, safe ones. unless there is some sort of contract with them ...

I think they started off with that awhile ago, but with so much video content getting put on from this Patreon alone, I think there were a lot of issues that came up from it. I think they also were fined/given a fee for it as well. Thus, offsite video sharing had to be the option. And it's not just PD having this issue with Patreon - I know other creators on here that have to use other media sharing sights, like vimeo, because they're unable to put out as much content on the app

Dailymotion is no less free for 'heavy users' like PD than Vimeo is. It's all about the amount of bandwidth you use. Once you use a lot, like PD does, you have to start paying. Dailymotion STARTS at around $6000 a year (payable upfront). Bandwidth is very expensive and for people who use a lot there really are no 'free' options. Hosting it yourself, what PD is planning to do afaik, is probably the best option for them.

that’s so shitty on vimeo’s part. $7000??? and to then take videos down and ghost you? that’s so shitty. i also agree with everyone who already said you should post public updates about things like this (and also the schedules). i’ve been a patron almost every month for a very long time now, so it hasn’t been a huge issue for me. but i know many people would appreciate knowing without having to pay first. especially since there’s been the vimeo issue. usually when i’m trying to decide to subscribe to someone’s patreon, i look at what they already have posted. so there’s a lot of new patrons here who did that same thing and now are disappointed cuz they didn’t know many older videos are no longer available.

Probably unrelated but I hope you can also react to GDA! Maybe not all performances but I hope you do. Their camerawork may not be the best but a lot of groups performed b-sides during the show which is interesting for me because so far we've mostly been seeing title track performances only from a lot of groups. Also I know how much you liked Don Quixote so...

I can see why so many creators are stepping away from vimeo and transitioning to either dropbox or Patreons own hosting thing. P.S can you make a video or a free viewable update post on patreon regarding past content? Because people who are not members cannot view the update. And getting a membership only to notice that you cannot watch 90% of it seems unfair to me

I think I’ve mentioned this before but most reaction creators I’ve seen have switched from vimeo to ‘Streamable.’ Even anime reactors is using streamable when anime is notorious when it comes to copyrights. Maybe you guys can check it out.

I understand you're going through a lot and the changes are necessary, but I'm just curious how things will be for $2 tier (I'm eventually going to upgrade, just won't be this month). You said you were planning to have content for every tier everyday, iirc. Does this mean you're planning to drop early access reactions everyday there is a schedule? Just genuinely curious with how sparse KultureStudy has been recently (understandable as it is)... There is so much good stuff you've yet to react to like Fifty Fifty (all 4 MV), H1-Key, Ily:1, New Jeans, ALICE (Power of Love and Dance On) and others. Either way I hope you have a good 2023 and things get worked out for you.

i think they meant every tier that gets content/every tier except support tier, they just accidentally phrased it in a confusing way. maybe when the vimeo/hosting/bandwidth issue is resolved, that will change since they won’t have to pay so much money for each person that watches a video

Fr. The unavailable video situation, while not PDs fault for happening,should have been PUBLICLY addressed when they first became aware of it. The fact that this “updates” are trapped behind a paywall is starting to make me assume that they don’t care that ppl are essentially being scammed out of money because they’re paying for content that doesn’t exist. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I mean, they're basically running a business here and that's why I say it's unprofessional the way they're handling this. We all appreciate that the situation is not your fault and beyond your control. We know it sucks for you most of all. We all know Vimeo is a piece of shit company. What people are taking issue with is the way you are handling this. This situation should have been discussed publicly on your Youtube last month. People are still signing up and paying you money for content that is not there anymore. You have a YT channel with 550k subs, yet you still chose to hide this info behind a paywall.

@hhr The $7000 was just for 'unlocking' the channel afaik. You have to understand that bandwidth can get incredibly expensive. That's not just a Vimeo thing. Like PD explained in a previous post, every time someone watches a video, it costs them money.

I understand that there are some folks who are upset about missing content and such, but please be patient with PD I'm sure they are frustrated with Vimeo and trying to figure out things with them and getting their channel back. It's understandable that you spent 2-20 dollars to see reactions for content that was unfortunately deleted by Vimeo but, PD and their team are doing what they can, and the fact that they spent $7000 just to still have their account deleted and to be ghosted.. I would be flipping shit and too pre-occupied with trying to get answers from Vimeo to even think about anything else outside of that. But that's just my take on it, everyone is grown and is gonna have their own feelings about it but at least let's be patient and wait for updates.

What is an estimate time when content will be uploaded this month PD? It’s been kinda all over the place so far and at random times so I don’t know if I should wait around or go to sleep since we’re on different time zones and I work full time so can’t wait around till the early mornings 😭 Edit: also Mondays En-O’clock episodes should be 38-39 if your going by order.

Yeah thats all fine and dandy but there is no excuse for not taking a minute at most to write out a update on Youtube about this situation so more and more people don't send money PD's way for content they don't have a clue is gone. This is a job, not a hobby, and PD is receiving people's money for content. No matter what stress you're under, you need to be professional. I've literally been a patron here for a couple years so trust me, I've been patient. But stuff like this where there's no communication or updates or acknowledgement have happened several times now so patience is officially gone. I don't think people should be straight up mean to PD or anything, but they have the right to voice their valid concerns whether PD is facing personal issues or business issues. Cause they sent them their well earned money just to be surprised that they can't get what they paid for.

@Calida, this has been going on since late November. They've had plenty of time to inform potential patrons. Yet they chose not to. No one is putting blame on PD for the issues. They just need to step up their communications game. I mean, there are 260 comments on the December update post, most of them critical, and yet PD claims they're unaware of them. i wouldn't have spent 20 bucks this month for the autumn tier if i knew so many things i wanted to watch were gone. the vimeo situation isn't pd's fault, however what they CAN do is inform people of all the things that are unavailable to watch.

Alright, so I did already post said comment under the two early access reactions. I just logged out of my account to check whether other people can see it and no, it doesn't show up. PD, if you've blocked me or are just hiding that comment from other people, you have to understand that I'm not doing this to spite you.
