i thought the shot of winter being pushed out of the frame and then coming right back in from the other end was supposed to represent the idea of it all being a simulation and they're the only ones who feel something wrong-- like the red and blue pills with karina as a reference to the matrix. a reference to a groundhog day-type concept, where every day repeats.
