19:17 I could actually see this, mainly bc Soobin always mentions how he's grateful he became the leader bc it made him a better person and I think that's such an interesting way of him viewing it, but it also makes sense? bc he's the leader, he has learned things that changed his perspective and it's how he became the person he is today. I feel like there are some things that are just meant to be and TXT is one of those for me. They're just meant to be. :')

I saw TXT at Lolla 2023 and it was the moment I realized I've never felt this way about a group ever. Their energy and vibe the entire show made me forget I stood there for 12 hours in the rain to see them. Somehow, it was like I became a MOA all over again. It's why I am so excited for their The Name Chapter: Freefall comeback more than any others in the past. During you're free time or whenever I recommend watching the Act: Sweet Mirage Seoul Day 1 or 2 VOD. The whole show was so perfect together with the VCRs and they even had perfume diffusers that changed with the songs so K-MOA could legit smell Blue Hour or Sugar Rush Ride. Thank you for the great video and discussion as always PD!

TXT are actually the first Korean artist to preform at Lolla, Jhope only preformed the same year as them, I believe he preformed the day after them and that txt unfortunately couldn’t stay and watch him as they had to be back in Korea for something else. So yeah this was a massive moment for them, they’ve made history with Lolla as the first Korean act to preform at Lolla, the first kpop group to preform at Lolla and now as the first kpop group to headline Lolla!

People call TXT "A group of friends going on tour and performing with each other". It's really amazing how you can feel just how genuine they are with each other and their personality complement each other! It's also cute how they dont want to show their caring sides on camera because people might think they are not genuine and doing it for clout. THe members mention it in their lives, for example Soobin had a blister so he ashed the group chat at midnight if they had any plasters and after a while beongyu dropped a package in his room and it seemed like beomgyu went out to a drug store to buy it for soobin. I think soobin being the leader is very right. In a group with crazy personalities and talent, they need a calm and comforting leader. It's becoming a thing with bighit artists, HOW DO THEY FIND GROUPS WHOSE PERSONALITIES MATCH SO MUCH. BTS and TXT feels like home.

I'm sorry to hear about what happened with your work and the missed concerts, it must've been hard and to share it too. I'm glad you fought through it and made it to where you are now. TXT will definitely go back to the US (with Hybe pushing for it, and Yeonjun and Taehyun personally liking being there). I hope to God that you'll be there with them and that their energy reaches you ❤️ I was gonna stop here but you brought up DBSK and I dang near teared up. I think Hybe sees it too (judging from the way they had TXT cover Mirotic) and I am scared (for my sanity) if that's really where the boys can rise to. Thank you for reacting to the documentary, and for this commentary too! I love looking forward to seeing your content and seeing how you'd react and how much love you hold for your interests. Ever since their debut, I've also been trying to figure out TXT's identity and what's making them so special especially since HYBE contributes to so much of their art. I will say, all members have contributed to the music in either songwriting or producing on every album except their first. I think their personalities really shine as well when you see who's written or produced a track. But I admit, while they've contributed, they weren't the makers behind their "sound" like I think BTS or Stray Kids have. It's like HYBE approves their contributions if it adds to the sound or vision they have. I think the point you were trying to express was that the concepts they follow, their "sound", even which tracks are chosen on an album, all of that is still orchestrated by HYBE's team. But one of the things that makes TXT special is the chemistry of the group enhances the their sound and their presence. They really seem like friends having a blast on stage, living life and their chemistry adds more meaning behind their songs which are about life experiences. It's like a symbiotic relationship almost -- HYBE realized that while you can manufacture music, you can't manufacture people and their personalities, so they allowed them to be more truthful as Soobin was in the end.

To PD. FYI, TXT will do encore concert at GOCHEOK SKY DOME on 2 nd & 3rd December this year. If you have any means to go, I encourage you to go. Trust me it is the best experience ever to watch them live. But if you can't, they still stream it online too. Soobin as TXT leader is such interesting thing. When they first debut, Soobin is the only introvert in the group with 4 chaotic members. Oh yes Taehyun is chaotic despite people see him such the proper one. I saw in some variety show they participate when they were rookie, the hosts called Taehyun, a person in his 3rd life (I'm not Korean but I read somewhere that this is his incarnation from his past-life..I need someone who understand Korean culture to explain it better than me..I only understand this a bit because I watch Goblin). When I was baby moa, I watched their CROWN encore stage (their 2nd winning). I saw Taehyun pick the long confetti and put under his eyes . Yup I know this kid is nowhere being so normal...lol. when they were put under debut group, they make a trial period for each member to be the leader. After everyone being put into those trial period as leader, they & the staffs vote who should be the leader. Soobin did ask the staffs why they chose him. They said Soobin is the type of leader, if any member left behind he will wait for them so they can walk forward together. People might see him a little shy, easily startle but I have seen him protecting his members especially during vlive/weverse live. He can be direct straight to the point if he have to.

I said this in the other video but TXT was the first kpop group and act to perform at lolla. As someone who went to both tours and both lolla shows- you almost can’t compare them. They are so different in the vibes and performances and purposes. You can however compare the different years. You can tell from act lovesick to act sweet mirage that the boys learned sooooo much from their first tour and how their first lolla performance influenced act sweet mirage. But I don’t think it’s fair to compare act sweet mirage to their headliner performance at lolla since the goal was different. I think when you were trying to explain the different “leaders” in TXT it’s that they don’t worry about voicing their opinion when its for the better of the team. It doesn’t matter for them that Yeonjun is the oldest or that Soobin is the leader but if a member feels confident about something or has an idea- they have enough trust in each other to be able to follow their lead no matter who it is in the group. You saying Taehyun is the Dad when he actively comes home to their dorm and says “Dad is home” 😂 TXT is 5. Like we say this all the time that the universe worked so hard to get these 5 boys together but truly this group would not work with any other person. Someone else said this too but TXT is actually VERY involved in their music, especially since The Dream Chapter Magic. I’ve been saying this in a lot of TXT videos of yours for a few years now but I really wish you would watch some of their behind the scenes for their recording videos. With TXT/bighit it’s not just good enough that the members produced or wrote a song. Their works has to be better than the other producers and writers they work with. They have talked about how they have always worked on their music. I do really hope you get to see a TXT concert one day. I’ve been to a lot of concerts both kpop and non kpop and TXT truly is the best. Their stage production, the story telling, the flow, and just the hardworking talented members themselves is amazing. Maybe try for their encore concert in Seoul in Dec? Try to make it a business trip? 😅 This next album of theirs is crazy. I’m so excited for it. I really think that this is gonna be my favorite album and also their best album. Critics are already saying it’s better than Freeze. I’m need the 13th to be here faster.

i honestly don't know if i would call soobin "the odd man out" between the other crazy and insane members. i do understand that people who don't follow all their content and livestreams etc. might feel that way about him but soobin is genuinely such an inspiring person to many and very similar to his members. he always expresses very honestly what he thinks without sugarcoating any of it. he has said before that he doesn't care about people who hate him and he doesn't plan on wasting his energy on them. he is very open and straightforward about his likes and dislikes and isnt ashamed to say that he isn't interested in something. even with his members or moas he can be brutally honest, in a teasing manner of course. when he feels comfortable he can go really crazy and be a total goofball, joking around, being super annoying. he has a great mindset and is just such an amazing person which makes him the perfect leader. txt are all just genuinely nice people. i honestly dont even remember where im going with this rant but the perfect teamwork really comes from the same values they all share and just the fact that they are all so similar in being so so so kind and good.

taehyuns love for txt and the rest of his members is actually really vocal!! i think it comes through especially in his livestreams or his interactions with members/fans on weverse. whenever a different member has a solo content on a variety show coming out, or a cover song, even yeonjun debuting his instagram account - in all these instances taehyun is the first one posting about it on weverse and getting really excited. he cheers them on, he says over and over and over again how cool his members are. he compliments them sooo much. it is so easy to tell how much he loves the team and the individual members and how proud he is of them. taehyun genuinely is the biggest txt fan it is super adorable

This is also one of my favourite K-pop documentaries I’ve watched, not only for the way it is shot and edited but also just the storylining and formatting of it. I also found it interesting how they ended on that segment from Soobin, but the way PD explained it makes it make a lot more sense. I think because TXT has just been getting bigger since their debut, people kind of forget what a rough start they had to their careers: they debuted with massive expectations, had to delay their first comeback several times due to health issues which made them lose a lot of their debut hype, and just as they had started to build back hype, covid hit… so while they gained more fans over that period, I think for the members, it felt like they hadn’t actually progressed that much. I think that puts Soobin’s perspective at the end in context because he actually wanted to stay as a trainee for longer, but the company made him debut, and then he only had a limited amount of time to build up confidence before the pandemic hit. Then the pandemic ended and he was no longer a rookie so people had expectations for them as an established group, but TXT’s experiences were only from their rookie year, so I think this knocked Soobin’s confidence a lot. He went on Weverse live during their Sugar Rush Ride promotions to talk about it a little, and said he now feels a lot better about performing and has learned to love it which I think is so clear to see in TXT’s most recent tour and Lollapalooza set. I know a lot of people question why Soobin is the leader of TXT because he is not the obvious choice, but I think the members said it best: ‘he is the best kind of leader for our team’ – like I genuinely don’t think any other member of TXT could be the leader of the five of them and for the output to be as good. What both PD and Blaire pointed out is right: TXT’s chemistry is amazing, not only are they like best friends and brothers, but they also manage to perfectly balance each other out. The best metaphor I’ve seen someone use for TXT’s dynamic is that they are like a house - Yeonjun is the foundation: he’s the eldest, he’s been there the longest and helped them grow simply by being there; Taehyun is the framework: planned, meticulous and steadfast, and he’s there to be leaned on when needed; Soobin is the roof: he protects them from the outside is TXT’s connecting and reliable force; Beomgyu is the hearth: he is warming, loving, attentive and makes the others feel safe; Kai is the life that makes a house a home: he is bright and sunny so he instantly brings light to a place by simply existing. I think that the house metaphor also accurately describes why TXT is special to so many people – they have managed to create a home for people through the narrative they build through their music. I wouldn’t say TXT don’t write their music (their current KOMCA credits are: YJ = 25 writing/composing credits, SB = 11 writing/composing credits, BG = 11 writing/composing credits + 3 producing credits, TH = 20 writing/composing credits, HK = 17 writing/composing credits + 1 producing credit). I think it is perhaps more accurate to say that their approach to writing their music is different from a lot of other groups, and I think that stems from the strict narrative and musical direction Big Hit has for them. A lot of self-producing groups choose what sonic direction their music is going to go in, but for TXT, Big Hit has a strong vision and direction for the group, and since debut, they have tasked TXT to be the storytellers of a musically driven narrative; so, while the members might sometimes help author the story, their main role is to narrate and embody it. I think that’s what Big Hit has done exceptionally well: the story they assigned to TXT, feels so reflective of the members themselves. Their music focuses on the stages of growing up and the members really do just feel like a group of boys going through that journey together and I think that is comforting to a lot of people. I really do hope you get to see them in concert one day PD. Watching your TXT journey has been so wonderful and heartwarming and it makes me so happy to see your love for them as a group keep growing with the more you see from them 💙

I think Soobin fits in well with all of txt while feeling like the “odd man out” is that he’s like…the middle between all of them? That’s not to say the rest of txt aren’t multifaceted, they’re human beings, and have lesser seen sides of their personality beyond the surface level ofc, like how Beomgyu is a lot more serious about his performance than u would assume if u just looked at how chaotic he is in to do. Soobin can go crazy or silly enough to match their energy, but he’s also like…down to earth? Sturdy? It’s so hard for me to find the words to describe it haha but he’s like the homebase everyone can meet up at. It’s very hard for me to try to explain but it’s something I felt in particular after seeing them sometimes talk about their lesser known interactions off camera? Its hard to put into words lmao excuse me

Thank you so much for reacting and I’m glad you feel this way about TXT. TXT has become a very important part of my life. I’ve been following them since their debut and always enjoyed their music and was just a casual fan. I didn’t really get to fully stan them until earlier this year in January when they released Temptation. The past year has been truly awful for me, I went through a loss and it took a toll on me. But in the middle of all what was happening I was listening to TXT’s music more than usual for comfort. There are people in my life who were there for me and I had a good support system.. but when I’m alone I needed a distraction. I wanted to move on after the grieving process. Drawing is a hobby of mine and had a lot of inspiration after what happened. And I also took up in photography, it’s very therapeutic to go out in the city and nature to take pictures. And then there is TXT. No other group has given me such comfort like they do. They really helped me through it with their amazing music and lovely, chaotic personalities. I’ve grown to love them so much. I knew I needed to see them live so I did. I went this year in May at their first US stadium concert in LA. It’s definitely one of my 2023 highlights. Seeing them up close and performing my favorite songs just felt like a dream, it was the first time I felt really happy in a while. They saved me in a way because I think I would still struggle if it weren’t for them, I will always be grateful for TXT. Every time you guys upload a txt reaction I get so excited and always look forward to watching it when I can. I’m glad I finally found the time to watch this reaction to the documentary. Seeing PD doing better these days makes me happy. I really hope you get to see TXT live soon ❤️

although you missed txt's past 2 tours i am soooo excited for you to witness the next tour they'll have.. I went to both LA dates for act: sweet mirage and i can confidently say they were the best 2 concerts i have ever been to. Act: lovesick was very intimate because of the small venues, but that intimacy was still very much present at a:sm. Maybe different cause of the larger venues but god they really try their hardest to make every section of audience feel included. All 5 of them were born to be performers and they are such powerhouses live, your mind will definitely be blown when you finally get to see them

Something I’ve always thought was criteria for a good ensemble of people whether fictional or otherwise was their ability to survive being stranded in a forest or some shit. That’s when I knew TXT was a perfect mesh of people, truly.
