Dryyym You

Can’t wait to see your reaction to the album🥹 it’s just gold

Pika Pika

Pop album? Oooh. You’re in for a surprise 😁😁

Oscar G.

First of all, thank you for reacting to them! It was a given, but i was eagerly waiting for it 😊 About the Bighit logo not being at the beginning... it's now at the end for them! If you pay attention, it started with "Sugar Rush Ride", and it's been happening with their music videos since then. It's a white logo with a black background. By the way, the music video was shot at Universal Studios! I can't wait for you to listen to the whole album, Hueningkai is going to blow your mind. I don't know what he's been eating since the previous album, but his growth in just 9 months is even hard to believe. It's not just the way he positions his voice, it's also how he enunciates and rides the rhythm of the songs (you'll see that especially in "Dreamer"). They're all outstanding vocally in this era, but Kai is impressive. I love how you talk about TXT being superstars and how much you think Bighit or Hybe are pushing them... if only that was true 😭 The album is, in my opinion, their best, but the results in terms of streaming are being abysmal. It's so weird, the year they get their first #1 on Billboard, go on their second tour, headline Lollapalooza and perform at the VMAs... but it's like suddenly everyone forgot about them when their album is released. It's true that they've been unlucky with IVE and Bud Bunny releasing an album the same day (from a Korean and western market perspective respectively) and also Drake releasing an album the week prior. Especially the Bad Bunny thing, that was announced just 4 days before release. They have talked about how happy they are with the album and how much they relate to Chasing That Feeling. Taehyun opened up abou having difficulties during "Good Boy Gone Bad" and "Sugar Rush Ride" promotions because it was harder to relate to those songs, but said that everyone was very happy with the new title track. Soobin has also insisted on loving "Chasing That Feeling". They look really bright and happy... so it makes it hurt a little bit more knowing that the album is not getting good results. I hope they don't feel there's a disconnection between what they love to do and what the public wants them to do. I can't wait for your album listening party!!!

txt have done it again!!! they really did an 80s synth pop new wave title track with american mv production. just wow. i cannot think of one other kpop group that continously serves us the same variety in music genres that txt always has. the music video and song actually directly connect to their previous album. if you recall, the last song on there was "farewell neverland" so even though they were almost tempted by the devil to stay in neverland, they realised that they have to leave, mature, and face reality instead. so they "freefall" into reality in this mv, but still have those lingering feelings that they felt while being in neverland, freedom of doing whatever they want, being with their friends bc thats all they need, without having to worry about anything else. i guess that this is the feeling that they are chasing even after coming back to reality, but obviously reality makes this harder for them. i genuinely am so excited for you to check out the whole album!! the other songs also connect to this storyline and concept. and um.. i wouldn't call it a pop album, its honestly more like an everything-you-could-ever-want album lol

Mel

Dance/synth pop era… yeah. Wait till you listen to the album PD😂

i do think that we as fans are a bit harsh on our ourselves and comeback achievements. yes, the numbers are a bit lower than hoped and than they were during srr but they are still great numbers and amazing accomplishments. we have had a bit of bad luck with so many big name albums dropping around the same time, and also melon changing their policy so that getting to the top of the chart is harder. but the album still sold a lot of copies, is being streamed a lot in korea and internationally and is predicted to debut in the top 3 of billboard 200. i know that we always want to be better, and for txt to be bigger and more successful, but we are all doing great and i really wouldnt say that the result is not good :) and of course the most important thing will always be everyone being happy and having fun with the new music, both txt and moas.

I love TXT discography. Their albums are so different from one another without being all that different. The sounds of each albums have so much variety but they also seem like there is always something that connects them. I really love this 80's synth pop sound . I love that TXT music is different from what we are listening with other Kpop groups. I really love TXT.

Morgan

I’m so excited to hear your reaction to the new album! I completely agree with your take on this song. I love it because it’s so well done and easy to listen to, but it seems to lack the extra “oomph” I’m used to hearing in TXT title tracks. It sounds like it was designed to be a US top 40 hit—not that that’s a bad thing! Now the album… I absolutely adore it and I think you will, too. I actually cried tears of overwhelmed joy while listening to Growing Pains and Skipping Stones. Even their sad-boy EDM track is really well-made! I hope a lot of people give the album a chance because it’s such a great collection of music.

iwi

i think you may be right when you said that is may be your favourite era,, the album will justify it all

Tema

Ran to the comments when PD said it will be a pop album. You have no idea what you are in for 🤭 Excited for the album listen! This is my favorite album EVER. Everything has been amazing so far from the music video, the songs, the album’s physical design and concepts. The stage performance, the outfits, the variety content 😍 I’m just in love with it. Edit: The falsetto at the end was Soobin before and then Yeonjun does the last Chasing That feeling

Joy

PD, I feel like you're going to be in love with ‘skipping stones’ This album is their best so far, vocally and conceptually since debut. My favorite song would have to be ‘Happily Ever After’

Sophia Considine

I love this song sm! It has been stuck in my head on repeat for days. And the whole album is amazing! I can’t wait for you to check it out!

MioneTwin (my-oh-nee Twin)

FYI, the director of this mv is also director for SZA - Kill Bill, Lizzo - About Damn Time, Chalie Puth - Light Switch, The Weeknd - Die For You. I'm looking forward for your album listening party. I love every songs in this album

Lise

Kai blew my mind with his vocals and artistery in this album.

Silvia González

The album would be amazing if not for the fact that Beomgyu has NOT EVEN ONE LINE in one song

alyssa

it isn't about a lover. Thats what i love about txt's music is that it is all much deeper than that. They're talking about finally facing reality and finding the strength to leave behind their youth (which was a huge aspect of the temptation album, the inability to avoid the temptation of "neverland" and the joy of ignoring your reality). This album and tt is much more mature and symbolizes a change in their perspective. They're missing that sweet ignorant illusion they once had but are now willing to endure the pain and face their fate head on. It really is such a beautiful song, which is why i agree that the music video should have gone a different route but despite that its still amazing.

Yellowtear

The way I giggled at freefall beeing a pop album. I`m so excited to see your reaction to it!

Anahera

This is without a doubt Hueningkai’s era so when you listen to the album I can guarantee you’re going to fall even more in love with him and his vocals! Also like everyone has been saying in the comments if you’re expecting a pop album you’re going to be in for a surprise… If I’m being honest I was not 100% sold on the MV and Chasing That Feeling upon first watch, however I think I must’ve just been overwhelmed by everything because I can honestly say that this is now my 2nd fav title track from TXT (0x1 is still first and I don’t think anything will be able to change that). As for what the feeling they are chasing is, I think like with a lot of TXT songs the subject is intentionally vague and I really like that. The song could easily just be about a lover but when you place it in the context of their previous discography it has a much deeper meaning. The Temptation album focused on the journey of the boys wanting to linger in the freedoms of youth to them then accepting they must leave Neverland and grow up. With that in mind I think the feeling they are chasing is those magical feelings of youth in this new grown up reality they found themselves in. That’s where I think the MV is done particularly well: Sugar Rush Ride ended with the members walking toward the ocean, implying that they were leaving Neverland, and this MV opens up with them literally freefalling and crashing into reality directly after they left the magical bubble that youth kept them in; by the end of the video they’ve journeyed from their lowest point (in the sewers) to coming together in an everyday reality where they are able to find and create that feeling of magic together again. So while the video feels and looks very different to TXT’s previous MVs, the storytelling is so consistent with their prior releases it actually doesn’t feel too jarring. Everything TXT does and releases is so perfectly planned out and yet they never fail to surprise me! I can’t wait for the listening party - this is easily AOTY for me.

thatsthename

Thank you for the reaction PD ! As for the feeling they’re chasing, you’ll figure it out when listening to the album but this era tells the story of them basically leaving a sweet magical childhood behind and going into the real "cold" and cruel world but despite that, still trying to find magical moments in this harsh reality !! so that is the feeling they’re chasing and why they’re doing all those magical/ super stunts and things in the mv eheh.. of course this is also up to interpretation !! but I always love how their songs and story speak a lot to today’s youth and just people in general tbh.. can’t wait for the album listening party! I’m sure you’ll love it

angel

i honestly think bighit did not promote this album enough at all... for temptation there were ads all over korea, it was impossible to not know txt were having a comeback.. but this time around they were so focused on back for more it's like they forgot to mention an entire album was going to be attached to it. not to mention bfm being a collaboration right after we had already gotten the jonas brothers collab.... imo back for more could've done better as a txt only song from the beginning but that's just my opinion. I do love Anitta's verse but i think it threw people off that there was a collab right after another collab. Bighit dropped the ball on a lot of things when it came to promoting and managing freefall so all i can hope is that next time they move like how they did with temptation, and moas learn to stream better.

angel

freefall being a pop album lol... can't wait for the listening party

Joy

I think It's the mixing because he has lines in the live performance

freddie

oh man i am excited for you to listen to the album! it's so good 10/10 (for me) i hope you get to check out some live stages too bc the boys are just amazing as always but Taehyun! he really stood out to me with this comeback

Eyana Geda

i think your interpretation of the song will be solidified when u listen to the album and the english version

Jodi Wong

you can hear that it’s very obviously taehyun’s line in the studio recording, and he also has no credits as background vocals on the song credits

Jodi Wong

the comparison of taehyun being in a spiderman movie is so funny to me bc he said that he wanted to be justin bieber but they had him being tom cruise in the mv instead 😭

Diana

When PD said "this is likely a pop star album" I immediately thought of Growing Pains :P No but really, I can't wait for your reaction to the album, it's a gooood one.

VS95

The mv is so different from their other ones and I'm not the biggest fan of it but ofc I absolutely loved the song. Not completely knocking down the director. It's good but like you said, needs some nuisance. I kept imagining how a korean director would shoot these scenes and how different the camera work would be but enough of my complaining of the mv lol. I love synth and new wave music and that's what CTF is. The rest of the album, just WOW. I can't wait for the listening party for Freefall.

Silvia González

They just gave him lines in the live performance because otherwise it would be so awkward for one member to just smile and stood there while the others sing :,)

Letícia

Damn seems like everyone loved this album except me 😭😭 It's really not my style of music imo and I find myself consistently only going back for 2 of the *new* b-sides. I especially don't really like how most of them seem like music any regular American pop band/artist could put out. That slightly bothers me but it's whatever they're still my boys and maybe I'll like the next era more hopefully <3

Very Rare

I think what you don’t like might be more so the rock/band sound which in my opinion is a sound txt fits well considering they always incorporate that sound in every album except debut. But excluding those two songs, there’s still the tt, back for more, do it like that, dreamer, and blue spring. Still a pretty solid album if you ask me
