i actually really agree with you about matthew!! his unique (in a good way) personality has already started to get a lot of attention since debut era tbh! so many of his funny moments and "shocking" comments from his variety show appearances have gone viral in korea and the reactions were overall pretty positive too... there are definitely the few people that have offended or negative reactions to what he says at times but the majority just find him funny and very honest in a pure way haha. i can definitely see him influencing the industry at least a little in the future! i really enjoyed your reaction :)

On the Matthew topic, what he reminds me of a little bit is a PG version of someone like Jessi. They both push the boundaries of what is considered a "normal" way to act on camera for a korean audience. They both have a chaotic and unhinged type of humor where the only difference is Matthew is more family friendly and "innocent" whereas Jessi is more controversial and adult in her humor.

Also before anyone gets mad, this comparison is strictly based on their personalities and the way they present themselves on camera. I'm not saying they have similar values or anything of that sort as I know Jessi is controversial for more than just what she says on camera.

PG Jessi is an interesting comparison. I just realized, Matthew just TALKS sometimes, which can be considered rude actually, but… His charisma is insane. That’s what Jessi does too. They use their rizz to navigate a conversation.

Also Matthews sister actually said that Matthew loves structure and he was very suited for the life of an idol!! He's both very free minded and determined to make it as an idol in Korea and pursue that career, he's such an interesting character - really funny both for Koreans and intl fans
