Content

This has been deep in my thoughts for the past week, and after going through all of today's DM refunds, and a few messages, I'll make this post to get your input and take it into consideration.

Regardless of what I'm going through, FOT is still a business. Yes, I am a human being, but it's this business that supported my family continually during COVID, and it's this business that I'm counting on to help make my dreams come true. So I truly owe this business a lot.

Continually being a disappointment to folks is not what I want. Nor should I be putting out content while I need to be fixing both myself and the business.

While the weekly basis schedule would be good for me, what makes the most sense seems to be going back to the OLD OLD system--a monthly schedule of everything I filmed the month previous. No promises, no chasing. That's what is best for YOU ALL.

That way people can still just decide at the beginning of the month if they want to pledge or not.

So in order to meet in the middle, the only change will have to be that if I didn't film enough content the month previous, I just take a break the next month from publishing on Patreon. It'll allow me to focus more on YouTube as well as catching up on any administrative work.

The rule I hold for myself and this Patreon is to automatically take the month off if I don't have the prefilmed content ready.

What I'm saying is: I will take March off to film content. I will be working both on my mental health but also prdfilming everything, not taking a "break" (aka time off from not filming), and I'll still be posting daily communicating with my fans who support me the individual.

You only pledge and stay on the Patreon if you want to support me so I can pay bills, but if you're here solely for content--take the month off. But for whatever reason I can't film enough in March, I won't post in April either. I am proposing that I will just not come back until I actually have everything ready. But of course the hope is to be back by April.

I've been too scared to take time off to prefilm content and be ahead, but those are my problems--not yours. There's no denying that both me, Blaire, and you all were a lot happier when I was a month ahead on content and things were coming out on auto-pilot.

Currently, I've now finished uploading all the drama club content and also nearly finished my taxes.  My goal is to finish the backlog FIRST and then get back to filming. I am thinking of purely just filming in March, not release anything, take my time, and also livestream and communicate with my personal fans, as I prepare to bring my business back into a proper and presentable place.

I still plan to post everyday and communicate with my fans because it keeps me present but it also keeps me accountable. Of course, these are all just my ruminating thoughts, I'd like to know your thoughts on the matter and take them into consideration.

Your health, mental and physical, are more important..but I worry with this plan you'll have certain content backup....that being said maybe drama, anime and variety and listening parties follow this prefilmed plan, but Kpop content (comebacks and other MV releases) continue as normal. If you see this as a hindrance,I understand...but I feel like putting so much stress on meeting a quota could be worse for you then keeping weekly schedules. I completely agree with finding a system where you aren't necessarily promising set content and set times. Another suggestion could be a 2 week off (break and prefilming small bursts of content) 2 week on (release content and community updates). Starting a new system with a smaller amount of content would help as well. Hopefully you can find your balance on this and dont worry about delivering and pleasing everyone, the ones that matter will stick with you.

WiseSmellyLegs

I think live streams are great idea! The latest one seemed to be good for you and your mental health and although it was kind of out of nowhere (without being planned) and the length was too much for many of us, I appreciated the interaction with you and discussions with others! I would prefer a few shorter live streams during a week rather than that many Tumblr-like posts 😅😅 I get that writing things out can help with your thoughts, but it lacks the factor of proper discussion and interaction. (And also I get not that many people are into reading those posts… what more if they paid for videos/video-like content…) Based on that I hope those live streams will be available for all tiers (I don’t know if there is mentioned whether live streams are for just specific tiers or if it is for everyone…). Also… side note: Have you listened to Jujutsu Kaisen’s latest opening on Apple Music? The (single) album cover for the song is SO JUJUTSU KAISEN 😅😅 https://music.apple.com/cz/album/specialz-single/1702823577?l=cs

As a patron, I'm here to support as long as I can afford, and there is a ton of content in the backlog that I can watch. I also subscribe to other creators for about the same price a month, some who keep to a schedule and some who don't. So, for me personally, I have lots of options and I don't pay attention to schedules really, because there's always something for me to watch. I'm flexible, and I have a lot of stops and starts and feel like I'm continually trying to problem solve and work on myself, so I can relate in that way. I worry that the whiplash effect of not giving any new plan long enough to see if it works for you is having a detrimental effect, both on patrons whose interests are more narrow or who aren't getting the value they expect when they don't have a lot of extra money to spend--and in turn, their expressing disappointment has to be a stressor on you. As someone who is mostly quietly around here but reads lots of comments, I get second-hand stressed for folks. I don't know what the right solution is that works for you and keeps the greatest number of patrons satisfied. I just know when I'm feeling overwhelmed, I try to only tackle the next 3 small things that are a priority and chip away at things I need to do, or in the doing of them, it helps me feel more grounded and back on track. I thought in that way, it seemed like your daily schedule and trying to hold yourself accountable by checking in was a good plan.

Luxia Scarlet

Hi PD, if the backlogs are fixed, there are contents I can go back to but can I ask whether you will release any of the week 3 content or will that also be in April?

Sebastian Reimers

Sounds good. Hopefully you can achieve your goals :)

Form of Therapy

Thanks for your input WiseSmellyLegs, and I just looked at the cover--WOW. Also, stoked there's a full song!

Form of Therapy

I will be filming it next week but yes, the idea is that I would not release it until April, so that patrons can get the most for their money, if that makes sense. I would rather they save their money in March.

Luxia Scarlet

Thank you for replying! I hope you can get a good rest and a much needed break to settle everything, stay healthy and safe!

Lastelios

The listening party from week 3 will be released in april then?

Form of Therapy

That's the idea anyway, accompanying them with live content, performances, etc. and such so that people get more for their money.

Form of Therapy

The idea would be to react to K-Pop MVs and release them that month, regardless of whether I'm prefilming or not. I would just bank the live stages, performance reactions, any promotional based reactions and then release them all the next month; if that makes sense?

Vish

A suggestion for the fellow viewers from my side would be to just watch the content a month late. For example if PD actually releases something in April just pay for May and watch it , if u think the content is in your interests. That is what I'm planning to do because of how untrustworthy this patreon has been about their promises. I'm not going to believe the schedules they post anymore I will just see what they release a month long and will think if it's worth paying for.

Gabrielle Renae

You have so much content and even some that I rewatch, so I'm going to be here when you guys are on breaks. So do what is best for your physical and mental health, and the relationships that you have and take yourself a break. I'm sure I'm not the only one who is going to be here. I like to rewatch listening parties and certain programs that I've found funny and you find funny because again; it's like watching with the friend because I have no k-pop friends. So take your break again. I know I'm not going to be the only one who is still going to support you during your break. Don't you worry.

Artist37

Something like that. Just feel like with how fast kpop content comes and goes it just doesn't suit the delay from the prefilming. Whereas drama, anime and vareity have a longer shelf-life, banking those make sense. Guess you could consider it as Kulture Study and its bonus drops is the regular content weekly/bi-weekly while everything else can be monthly (depending on the time you feel comfortable taking off to prefilm). Incorporating your breaks seems important enough but I just think putting too much focus on meeting a prefilled quota could end up being too stressful if not balanced the right way. I think the most important thing is that you don't set dates for content you are releasing but provide guidelines of planned content (with *subject to change included) ...work steadily and diligently but don't overpromise and continue to make your pockets of time for your reflections and mental wellbeing... (sorry how this all just kinda rambles on, it's hard typing on the patreon app's small text window lol.)

Form of Therapy

That is absolutely perfectly fine, and I apologize that I've lost your trust. It's completely understandable, but yes, even in April this is a perfectly fine thing to do! Ultimately it's your money and your choice.

tuba

take your time, don't need to rush!!

Yanan

This is where the street team could have helped PD. They could have been in charge of backlog and you would be able to focus on filming and releasing content.

Christina M Villa

I think this will be great, especially for you. You are a bit of a workaholic, and it gets in your way sometimes. Most especially it gets in the way of your healing. The past few month must have been difficult and, like Blair, you probably need some time. Doing a break of posting will let you take time for yourself, but also let you film, which you love. You have so much content that I will be sticking around and exploring some reactions I may have missed. If the old dramas will be fixed there are a few I have been waiting to watch. Plus, one of my guilty pleasures is rewatching your Kingdom and Queendom reactions. As I have seen them multiple times I don't necessarily need to pay close attention. I have it on as I craft and you keep me company. Crafting is what helps me with my mental health, and your reactions are sometimes a part of that, so thank you. I'll be around!

nins

Hey PD, once again it's D LS from the livestream you did a couple days ago. During your off month I think you should do another livestream, I'd love to continue to talk with you about things in general. It was a very awakening experience working through things and discussing them. It can be just like the last one, and I know I'm not the only one rooting for more livestreams ^^

Sarahvtae

It's not going to work, PD. It's not going to work. You've been changing your system sooo many times over the last few years and it has never worked. Do you know why? Because it's not the system that's important...it's your willingness to work. You might love doing this and you might want to do it right...but you also NEED to do it. You have already pre-filmed some content with Blaire (apparently) and now you've not been releasing anything the past few days...why are you not just releasing what you already have?? Also...i'm kind of sick of you deciding what's "best for us". Shouldn't WE be the one's to decide that? Shouldn't you listen to OUR suggestions, if you really want the best for us? It's not going to work, because you don't listen. You're stubborn. You constantly ask for help, but you never actually listen to it. I also think it's a little weird how you're making this divide between ppl who are here for content and ppl who are "true fans of you"...at the end of the day NONE of us would be here if it wasn't for your content, that got us here in the first place. And the ppl who are here for content wouldn't be here, if they didn't even care for you and your views a little bit. There might be a few ppl that love you so much unconditionally, that they'll stay no matter what and they don't mind how you're acting rn... But do you think that's okay? Do you think it's okay to use their kindness to your benefit? Do you think you should reward these ppl with nothing, but a few "daily updates" on how you're doing? THEY might not care, because they love you...but YOU should certainly care and make sure their love isn't in vain. Lastly (There's actually so much more i could say💀)...There's someone here, that called you a "workaholic" and i know there's a lot of ppl that would call you that- But you certainly aren't. You might PRETEND to be one, but you're not. Based on your schedule...you spend less than 4 hours on reacting...let's add about 2 hours for editing and all the organization...that's 6 hours a day AT MOST. That's not even close to what a normal person works a day! And you make WAY more money, you have way more free time, your job is fun and consists of stuff we do regardless of our jobs... This is your full-time job, PD. You're privileged as hell for having the opportunity to live your life like that...especially with such a big audience. So...TREAT it like a full-time job. Cause in the real world...you would already be sleeping on the streets. I'm sorry, if this all sounds harsh. But it's the truth. And you need to hear it. Especially since so many ppl here are still trying to coddle you (a grown man who has been doing this for way too long).

Aurayaya

Holy cap. We all know by now you're not able to prefilm anything. What prefilming are you talking about PD? Doing it on the last day of march in the middle of the night? Stop yapping, you never once were a month ahead with prefilmed content what are you on about

gil nat

I just subbed 2 days ago and I feel like some important post regarding the continuaton of the patreon should be public. PD have been talking about doing a break since last week and if those post are public, it’ll help people decide wether they should subs or not at the time. So please consider us who just subbed for your content recently Also, genuinely asking what are the guarantee that once you’re back you’ll be consistent and onschedule again? Because I’ve noticed that you’ve already gone on some breaks in the past and it didn’t really change anything. You’ll be on schedule like 2 weeks max and then it’ll be the same all over again, then you’ll take another break😕 and don’t you have a new team to help you settle the other stuff?

Artemis Delphinia

I've often thought this and just haven't said anything, but personally and it may be different for you and the other patron/youtuber that does something similar to you, is that when I watch kpop related things it helps my mental health and makes me happy and I enjoy it. Granted I'm not filming myself doing it or editing afterwards, but I'd just be happy with a reaction to something and the video ends, not needing a full in depth discussion or review on something listened to or watched. So when I hear someone, especially someone who is being paid by multiple people, that it's too stressful or they're not in the right headspace for reacting to something I genuinely don't understand, especially when you're reacting with someone else. It should be enjoyable and watching people or content you enjoy shouldn't be a difficult thing to do, and if it is, maybe it isn't the right fit for you as a job if it's a struggle. I see so many reactors, some that are so small they barely have views or subscribers, who put out stuff weekly, even daily because they're enjoying themselves and are having a good time and are enjoying the community of whatever they're watching. The only time they're delayed is because they're physically sick or they're working a job job to pay their bills. If they're moving, they have a back catalogue to upload because they're ahead of schedule and they stay ahead of schedule. I'd kill to spend my days just watching stuff and being introduced to new groups, songs, shows, ect. Especially if I get to share it with another person. Being ahead of schedule will definitely help, but only if you're consistent with it and not taking breaks so often. Because then there's no point and subscribing and then unsubscribing and resubscribing over and over isn't the way to do it and you shouldn't expect people to be like, "oh he's taking a month off to catch up again, guess I'll stop my sub and wait till next month or the month after that to sub again", not for your prices and inconsistency. This should be enjoyable for you at all times and shouldn't feel like a job or hard work. The anxiety shouldn't make you incapable of doing your job, because if it is, it's not the right job for you or you're not getting the right help to properly work through that cause any normal job out there if you weren't your own boss would have fired you for missing weeks to a month at a time, and now potentially 2 month incase you're not up for being able to film as much as you want next month. I simply am not going to keep paying $20 for that kind of treatment. I really do enjoy seeing you get so excited when watching new MV's, variety, listening parties, and Drama's. Watching other people get excited about things that I enjoyed makes me happy and entertained, but there are plenty of other reactors out there who have a better work ethic and enjoy themselves and enjoy sharing that side of them that don't ask for your prices and don't keep taking breaks. I'll just stick to watching your once and a while Youtube reactions whenever you put them out and I come across them in my reccomended.

Aurayaya

On a less critical note: There were some comebacks that I think would be very healing for you. Sometimes when I listen to new K-Pop comebacks I remember what I love about it and why I always will be a fan of it. It just keeps you going. For instance, you haven't reacted to Cravity for a while (shame on you!) - they had another comeback (love or die) yesterday, I think you'd lose your mind about. Or Twice with their One Spark MV

zaphyre

In the end you will do what you have to do, but I was really looking forward to some of week 3 content since December (Which was said would come out in January, and then moved to February), so now to be told it may not even come out until April, it's... sigh. And that's not even sure, since you said you might take April off too if you don't have enough content. What can I say? I'm disappointed, of course. But there's nothing that I can do about it. I only joined with the lowest pledge because I wanted to wait to see if you would actually post the stuff I wanted to see before spending all that money for this month (And also because you give so many text updates that are behind a paywall and therefore I can't know what is going on with this page otherwise), so I don't need a refund or anything. But yeah, thats where I am right now.

Panda Truthseeker

I think a major reason you experience burnout so often is because you're reacting to TOO much. I mean, kpop comebacks and variety, PLUS animes and dramas. That's three categories of videos you film and release every month. This Patreon was initially created to react to kpop related content, right? I am personally only here for the kpop content. Why don't you pause on the dramas and anime reactions and stick to just kpop content for a while and see how that goes? I would much rather see you react to live stages (inkigayo, studio choom etc.) from ALL comebacks instead of just certain groups only. As someone here for only kpop, it's also frustrating when you don't even react to a lot of comebacks... You missed out on several from 2023 including AB6IX, AKMU, VIVIZ, NCT 127 xmas song, The Boyz and more. I think people would rather keep their monthly subscription and have content coming in regularly, even if it's less per week and per month. Quality > quantity. And as someone above said, you don't need to always spend 20 or 30 extra minutes going in-depth with your thoughts after every reaction. A shorter summary of your thoughts is fine too.

Amanda Bernström

you do what you want. im glad you are taking a break if thats what you need! But i hope you can add The Rose LPs and MVs to your next schedule please? Ive been waiting for it since December.. and if i can just get an answer if you are still considering checking it or not, that would be great

mm

I think at least the content that was promissed for December and January should be released as soon as its filmed. For everything else I think this is a good approach. I'm not sure if it will be helpfull for you (it sounds even more isolating) but it will ensure that you don't promise anything that you can't deliver. If you want to take a break in March you should absolutly make a public announcement immediatly so people can be aware of it!!!!

Incheonguy

Nothing changes it seems. Just a 3 month delay until we see again you didn't deliver what you say you will. All the while taking monthly fees. IF YOU are legit about making long time patreons happy. Make your patreon free until you deliver what you promised. Stop collecting 25k a month for next to nothing. A month off but you want 25k or more from all of us. ARE YOU OUT OF YOUR F'ing mind. No sane person would agree to that and no sane person would expect anyone to fall for that. SERIOUSLY.

민준 김

I can clearly visualize this cycle coming back after pd runs out of the prefilmed content and rushes to film the content in a week and exhaust himself and enter another hiatus

Vish

I want to provide a reality check to everyone here: he probably earns $30,000 per month,, that puts his annual income at around $300,000. Do you all realize how absurd this is, considering his lack of professionalism I would kill to be this privileged and earn this much lol . While I appreciate his knowledge on certain things, I've lost respect for him as a person. To all the people who he is considering as "fans" please have some self respect and unsubscribe. If anyone else is like this on a full time job they will be living on streets by now lol

h

i just resubbed yesterday after seeing how well posting has been in feb but after reading all of the updates & now this i really wish i hadn't. one thing that frustrates me is how all of these posts about delays/changes to the schedule are not public. cause if they were then we would've had a better gauge of what was going on, instead of finding out after paying nearly £20. i hope you finally find a method that works for you pd but it seems like this is a major internal issue, not a schedule thing. good luck with everything. i will gladly rejoin every few months but right now subbing was a huge financial decision for me & it doesn't seem worth it.

Incheonguy

You are the kind of lemming he is counting on to continue milking 25 to 30k per month off of nearly 5k paid patreons. For 30k a month he doesn't get to take a month off or a week for that matter. He needs to STOPs collecting fees from us, posts the content that is overdue and issue EVERY SINGLE ONE OF US Several months of free access. There is no way he should get 75-90k over the next 3 months and take March and April off. That is BS and if you don't see that you are blind.

Incheonguy

BS he has not been reacting to anything much recently BURN OUT MY ASS. He films like 2-4 hrs a day once or twice a month maybe look at the history of it. He isn't burned out he is lazy and living a priviledge life and no longer wants to do what has earned him this much money. He will get motiviated to do something once the majority of you wake up and cancel. ONLY THEN. BUT that will be too late. There are more productive reactors out there who dont charge as high of fees as this one. Find one and move on.

Incheonguy

That is his mo. It's a scam at this point. WHO HONESTLY THINKS people should pay him 25-30k in patreon fees for NO CONTENT IN MARCH. He says he is filming but that is bs at this point. COMPLETE and TOTAL BS. Get your refund. But I doubt he actually gives them. I asked for mine but as of yet nothing.

Ra Oro

Everyone needs to stop coddling him and subbing tbh! This is my last day! This is a grown man that continually plays in our faces with content issues. I get some of you are really kind hearted, but please stop being taken advantage of with his manipulations.

TC

A team was supposed to be made but pd "left them on read" so to say, never heard from him back after sending applications

edsworth

I said this last time, but you can't build a habit if you're inconsistent with it.. you have to stick to something for it to become a habit. Changing every month doesn't help.

Zerose777

I was really sad because $20 is a lot for rare content. A lot of people are here exclusively for Kpop and Zerobaseone and there hasn't been a new exclusive ZB1 post in a while. I guess I'll try to find someone else.

Sarahvtae

Respectfully...i dont think, you know what a "workaholic" is...cause it's certainly not him.

Dryyym You

This is honestly not even disappointing at this point(( It’s getting old and tiring. I’m always trying to be patient and understanding But I think you don’t realise, PD, how privileged you are to have this as a job and to earn that much money from just watching enjoyable content We use K-pop and variety shows to actually mentally rest after work, but this IS your work If you have hard time to do this as a job than I don’t think you would ever survive at a regular job Imagine if we will work diligently only 1/3 of the month and find excuses not to work for the rest of the month ? We would be kicked out asap, no one need a worker like that For how much we pay, you cannot slack off and should stick to the schedule like every other person do at their job I thought it is obvious but I don’t think you get it While you do your meditations I would recommend to also think about how lucky you are to have this audience and this job and not take it for granted because you are already loosing a lot of regular subscribers

Christina M Villa

Respectfully, I think I do. You obviously don't like it here, judging by your posts on almost every upload complaining about one thing or another. So why are you still here?

Dryyym You

This place is slowly becoming “Form of Frustration” for us and it is sad

km

last time you said you were prefilming content was November and then December was an entire mess. If you need a break that’s fine and I think most of us can understand but take a real break. Leave for 3 months and then come back when you’ve either prefilmed a whole bunch of stuff or feel totally ready and prepared. This is your business and businesses don’t thrive when they go off and on this frequently. It seems like you’re trapped in a cycle of figuring out what schedule and mode of balance works for you but i think that’s something that needs to be figured out not at the expense of peoples money. I know we’ve been given refunds but a good business is not one that has to issues hundreds of refunds monthly. I completely understand that life has been tough for you guys but if you need to focus on yourself choose to do that instead of coming back and forth and changing things monthly

km

we can tell how much kpop means to you and how many future goals you have regarding it, but I think it’s also important be realistic about what you can and cannot do. Is patreon something feasible for you anymore? Is it something you can keep up with by yourself while Blaire is away? I think these are important questions to ask yourself! Again, I know you’ve said you’re a people pleaser, but at the end of the day you need to be able to decide what can and cannot be done. Even if that’s just making this channel into a: there is no schedule, i’ll release when I release so you choose if that’s worth paying for type of situation. There’s plenty of reactors that don’t have schedules and just announce when new things are out. Sorry for the rambling, I just think it’s time to really think about how realistic these goals are for you. Put yourself first even if that means taking a long term break from posting on here

km

if prefilming all next month and then releasing feels feasible for you, I would suggest giving it a try but only make it known what content you 100% have filmed and know you can put out. No more “I want to get to this” or “this will be on the schedule next month”. I know you are a people pleaser but it’s making people more upset when you do promise content and it never comes out.

Neeko

Okay but these complaints have been around for months and yet people are still here. If the schedule isn't working for you, just leave and unsubscribe. It's really not that big of an issue. People make promises all the time and sometimes they don't stick to it. Just dip if it's not working for you.

Neeko

So why are you still here commenting nothing but hate on every single post? Gosh I don't know PD like that and people may have understandable issues with him and his content but this comment section is seriously just as ugly and toxic. Take your losses and just dip out and go watch other reactors to fill your joy.

Brooklyn

I think what you should do is meet in the middle. Take March to pre-film two months-worth of content and to make a schedule of releases and fix the backlog. Then last day of March drop the schedule for both April and May. Take April off completely as a re-set while having the relief of pre-scheduled content, and then May you come back to pre-film your next-month’s content and get back into the month ahead schedule. You can do bonus drops here and there, but I’d set a personal limit of maybe like two or three a month MAX. That way, if there’s something you want to watch or a cb you don’t want to miss, then you have the space but also don’t fall back into the content hole. And lastly, commit to testing this for the entire year. If it truly doesn’t work, then change it up again in January.

Sarahvtae

1. These complaints have been around for years now...not months. 2. Ppl aren't complaining about the schedule. They're complaining about the schedule NOT being followed. 3. PD is constantly lying to ppl about "plan changes" and "everything's going to be better from now on". 4. He's scamming ppl by constantly making excuses and oversharing about his mental health problems. 5. He's ignoring the comments instead of using the feedback to make the patreon better. 6. A lot of ppl have been saying, that they never got any refunds. 7. A lot of us have been subscribing on-and-off, because there's certain content we still want to watch...that doesn't mean, we can't complain about constantly being lied to, being scammed etc. 8. "Just leave and unsubscribe" what good is that going to do? You said it yourself..."these complaints have been around for months" why are you just fine with that? It's not US that need to change...it's him. 9. Respectfully...i think you're either too young to understand the severity of this situation, or you're one of those obsessive and delusional fans, who'd kiss his ass regardless of what he does to you. Get it in your head...if he actually cared for you/us/this channel, then he wouldn't act this way.
