We’ve been slowly moving toward this — and now it’s finally here.

The personal library feature was just a stop on the way.

The real goal was always this: streaming your own torrents directly on your TV, with no downloads, no VPN, and no torrent client. Just press play.

And now it works. It’s been live for a full day in production — and I’m absolutely happy with how it performs.

📦 Add any torrent to your Webtor library

📺 Open Stremio and install your personal addon

🍿 Start watching on any device — even your TV

Metadata is detected automatically. Works with both movies and series.

(Available for paid users only — thank you for supporting this.)

How to connect Webtor to Stremio →

🔮 What’s next?

We have exciting plans for the near future:

  • Vault — a permanent personal library that persists across time and torrents

  • Torznab integration — so you can search and add content directly from public or private indexers

💭 A personal note

For years, my flow was always the same —

search for torrents on tracker sites, upload them to my NAS, organize everything, and finally stream through Plex.

It worked, but it was clunky. Too many moving parts.

Now, with Webtor + Stremio, one entire step is gone. No more NAS uploads, no more media servers. Just add a torrent — and watch.

And I genuinely love this shift.

It feels like the way torrenting should work in 2025 — smooth, private, and effortless.

Thank you for being part of this.

This project wouldn’t exist without your support.

Hey! That's an awesome addition! It was initially working for me but after attempting to reinstall it I keep getting "Cannot find addon/collection from this URL". Any ideas? Update: it works on the Stremio Web app (web.stremio.com) but it's not working for me in the Windows app. Update 2: alright it works in the Web app in the sense that the add-on is installed correctly, but I get "Video not supported" when trying to play anything through my Webtor library.

I keep getting. Oops, Player Error Stremio encountered an error with this media.

Hey! Could you please DM me the torrent you’re trying to play and let me know what device you’re using Stremio on? That’ll help me figure out what’s going wrong and fix it. Thanks!

Hey, thanks for the detailed updates! Yeah, unfortunately the Web app (web.stremio.com) doesn’t support most video formats — it’s more limited compared to the desktop and TV apps. I’d recommend trying on the desktop app or a TV box (Android TV, Firestick, etc.) — playback should work much better there. If you still run into issues, feel free to DM me — happy to take a look and help!

I've never heard of Streamio, but I just tried it with Webtor, and within minutes I was watching a film. It was so easy – it felt like magic. I normally only use Webtor to download obscure music, but now considering it for films as well. Thanks!

Thanks a lot for following up! I still can't get the add-on to install in the desktop app. It says "Can't fetch addon/collection through this URL". Also. the same torrent works when I use it directly on web.stremio.com, without using the Webtor Add-on, so looks like something might be going on there. I'll update you when my ONN arrives and I'll try on that as well
