Webtor UI redesign + smoother playback, job auto-retries, and better feedback (Patreon)
Content
The web interface just received a major redesign.
We’ve reworked many components to make everything cleaner, more responsive, and more pleasant to use — especially on mobile. This is a direct result of your support: it allowed us to invest time into UX polish and internal improvements.
Along with the visual refresh, we shipped several important upgrades:
Toast notifications
You now get instant visual confirmation for actions like copying links, adding items to the library, or deleting content. No more guessing whether the click worked.
Improved progress log
Clear visual icons replaced text statuses:
✓ completed
✕ errors
⚠ warnings
It’s much easier to follow what’s happening during processing.
Smoother playback start
The system now pre-buffers up to 5 minutes of HLS video right after the transcoder starts — videos begin playing smoothly from the first seconds.
Automatic restart of failed jobs
Failed downloads or transcodes no longer stay stuck. When requested again, they automatically restart — less manual intervention, more reliability.
This update is part of ongoing work to make Webtor feel faster, clearer, and more dependable day-to-day.
