I love all Medieval helmets, but if I had to choose the type I like the least, then I confess, it's kettle hats. Here is why. What's your favorite type of helmet?

One great thing about kettle hats is that they are excellent for people who wear glasses—or, more precisely, they are user-friendly for modern wearers. Whether you are nearsighted, have astigmatism, or suffer from a combination of both, kettle hats allow you to enjoy wearing a medieval helmet without having to remove your glasses.

I'd say my least favorite is the kettle hat too. I often associate it with typical towns-guard. My favorite would also be an armet. While there are many different designs I can enjoy the artistic value of armets, they are sophisticated, optimal for their use as well as fashionable

Weren't the kettle hats the ancestor to Britains Tommy helmets of WWI? Cheap and simple to mass produce.

I don’t like the Heavy Helms with visors.

New patron here. This is my first time seeing one of your medieval armor videos. I think I agree with you; it’s more of a hat than a helmet. To be considered a helmet, it should cover the whole face. You could easily get stabbed or shot in the face with a kettle hat. That frog mouth looks interesting. I’ve never seen it. I’m assuming that crack is for the eyes? It seems like it would be hard to see through that tiny slit. It’s definitely the most unique looking. I like the barbute (sp?). It looks the most functional. It covers the face, unlike the kettle hat, but not so much that you can’t see anything, like the frog mouth. It also reminds me of Monty Python. 😂 God bless you, sir, and I’ll continue praying that your YouTube channel will be fixed soon!

Spanish conquistador helmet looks really cool. But I'm American so I'm bias. I don't know the name of it tho.
