Details about the time travel: Assume you can stay a month and then come back. What's your first pick?

sun god nika

i woul wanna go back to the stone age to see how people lived

Robert Griffith

I noticed that you didn't tell us to assume that we won't spread modern diseases or pick up past plagues, that we can actually speak to and understand the people we meet, or that our actions won't change the timeline 😉

Jacques Van Blokland

I chose the Age of Revolution not for any academic reason, but for 3 practical reasons: 1. Higher chance of being able to communicate 2. Lower chance of commiting a social faux pas and getting executed 3. Lower chance of transmitting a virus to the local population, changing historical events, and returning to a bizarro alternate 2023

Tim Harris

Similar to my thoughts, also you may be able to more easily create modern tech as some of the infrastructure and base technologies may exist.

As a christian I would love to see the early church and actually talk with Paul and the apostels. I think meeting Jesus would be impossible even in time travel.

I suspect "where" is as important a question as "when."

Gary Slator

"Where" really is as important as much as when! I could be very specific; to be in ancient Alexandria around c.240 BC - and maybe visit the Wonders of the World, The Great Library, Athens, Macedon, etc. But suppose your time-machine was a one-way ticket - you go, but never come back! THEN what would you choose? My answer would stay the same.

Nat Da Rat

I'd prefer 1700s, but still. Honestly my choice would really be the early 80s. I'd want to go bananas investing in IBM computers, maybe force the ps/2 to crush windows.

Sarah

I'm a woman. I don't think I'd want to leave this current time period! If I were a man, any time other than the Middle Ages would be interesting to visit.

Jeff Price

YEs. Physically humans haven't changed much since the neolithic. It would be fascinating to see how advanced and sophisticated neolithic culture is/was...

Alexandre Martins

I assume the idea of this time travel would involve not interacting with locals, so no spreading current diseases (wiping out humanity with COVID 20K years ago) or getting killed by a hunter who mistook you for some weird animal. As always with time travel, paradox.

PizzaGulper

Probably none of those. I would likely get sick and die. Nobody would understand me either. Also I like my electronics to much.

Brian Stanaland

This question is always so hard. And my answer changes with the season. Right now I'm interested in the earliest peoples to live in North America so I picked the Stone Age above. Specifically, I'd like to go to what is now called the Gault archaeological site in Texas. Current thinking puts the place as having been a thriving community 15,000 years ago.

CahaLLo

I'd like to go the stone age to learn about their religion

Fraggle Wrangler

I agree, the "where" matters. Even more so when you take into account the movement of the Earth. Jump back in time 5 minutes and you'll be in space, watching the Earth zooming away

cmbaileytstc .

Obviously I’d go to a period where I could set up investments that would grow vast between then and my time.

Quasijoe

I would need to go to the stone age if I want to meet Eve and Mr Eve.

Jack P

Stone age I guess, but would really like to see the earth a few million years earlier. but then again, if I had a time machine I'd be visiting as much as I could before I died

Sandy

I would go to the greatness of Egypt. During the ptomomy Era. The building of the library. Where all cultures came to study. I Love all eras in Egypt .

Jeffrey Jenkins

I love history and the past, but would want to travel to the future.

Komuso

closest one was age of revolution. specifically December 23 1750, Philadelphia PA. try to watch Ben Franklin electrocute himself trying to prepare a turkey dinner. Ben... love you man but you over complicate things.

Mīonikoī

Can I be a time traveling ghost that can return to my body and not have to live in an age without modern medicine? 1800s. No? ... I'm good thanks.

Danny Greenland

I'd like to go back to the Middle Ages so many cool things happened there.

Weylin Derwydd

I’m guessing by classical antiquity your saying the Iron Age
