Jana Fuller

Literally would die for you to watch burlesque!!!

Mariana

Whiplash and Moulin Rouge 😍😍😍

Lindsay

All these options are so good will love anything off this list!! I have to say though, Grease is a must such a classic!!! Obsessed with burlesque too!

Tara Cabache

All my favorites have the fewest votes, which makes me sad. Hopefully we'll get to them one day 😅

Izzy

WHIPLASH OR CHECK OUT CODA

emmy

am i crazy for recommending the new descendants movie

Helena

we will get whiplash someday 🥲

chimelle6

I watch Moulin Rouge probably at least 40 thousand times in high school. lol

Caitlin Goerlich

As usual, I'm going to say if you do Grease or Rent, please check out the LIVE versions afterwards. Obviously watch the movies first but the LIVE versions were so good especially Grease LIVE. 🙂

Chireny de Groot

I know come from away is not a favorite, BUT it is such a beautiful story surpunding 9/11 and has an excellent cast that portrays more than 1 role beautifully!

I haven't seen the new one yet, but I would say he should watch the first three right?

Mariana

It's there 🙌🏼

emmy
>>147544105

yes! i love allll the movies! the new one isn’t really connected to the story line of the first three so he could watch it separate if needed but all of them i recommend

may

Mamma Mia 2 PLEASE! Also, Les Mis is incredible, one of my favorites musicals. Check it too.

Charlie

Is Whiplash considered a musical?? Am I crazy?? This is a genuine question bc I don't consider that a musical. Still an amazing movie that I'd love to see you check out but like. Is it genuinely considered a musical?

Charlie

Also I am begging for The Last Five Years. You love Jeremy Jordan so much he does amazing work the film it's a master class in singing technique truly. Anna Kendrick is lovely as well as always.

Kyler Bridges

You’d love the music from newsies!

Ida Lisby

I grew up with grease and I LOVED it. Just watched i with my son who is 12 and I just realised how completely Old fashioned and sexist it is. I want to still love it especially for the music, but I’m conflicted 😢

Iva Morris-Covey

My all time favorite is POTO! Chicago and Mamma Mia 1 and 2 are close seconds. Rent is also a fav! Too many choices, bestie!

Lailah

no you're right!! I don't think anyone would ever consider it a musical but I think he's using that term loosely (movies where music is a key component of the plot)

Charlie

Okay thank god I'm not the only one 😅 I think musical refers to when the musical number tells you plot and would be just talking in real life (or a non musical movie) whereas Whiplash is a drama which includes music being performed by the characters who are musicians. I actually googled this and there was a whole reddit thread of people being like "girl absolutely not" lol

Sherelle H

Please Burlesque!!! It's so underrated and a classic gem of a movie just good 2000s vibes it's amazing haha

Desiree Mclaughlin

Jeremy Jordan is fantastic in the stage production of Newsies on Disney+. Really hope you get around to that one at some point.

Olive7

Been waiting for RENT my whole entire life 😭

Jana Fuller

And no one reacts to it!!! So underrated

PS

I think you would love Newsies

Alexander

the day you finally get to react to newsies is the day i will WIN!!!! newsies proshot on d+ i will never give up on you no matter how long it takes to get to the top of the poll 😭🤝

Maddie

I just wanna say that Little Shop of Horrors is an incredible musical, but unfortunately they cast a truly awful singer as the female lead in the movie version. I don't know if it's been remade (I really hope it has) but if you're talking about the original movie, don't. The musical itself is fabulous. See it with an Audrey that can sing.

Mina

I meed Chicago and Burlesque omg

kelsie

So many good options but Grease and Moulin Rouge are MUST watches for anyone. Burlesque isn’t as good of a movie, but the soundtrack?? Perfection.

ry 🐞

You would looove newsies trust

Spagay Tittie

Chicago is one of my favorite shows of all time, I think you’d love the drama of it!

Lizzy

My love for the phantom of the opera soundtrack is unmeasurable. I was fascinated by it when I first watched it in 2nd grade and still listen to the soundtrack from time to time

Mikayla

Every time you make one of these polls and come from away gets like no votes I cry inside lmaooo

ess

Why not all?

Native Newyorker

Matilda has gotten like no attention from reactors which is crazy given the fact that not only is it an amazing musical but it's such a good and faithful movie adaptation which is so insane because those are rare.

ess

I'd also suggest Once and Hedwig and the Angry Inch; more indie but no less fun

ess

(Once in particular is sort of Hozier the musical so I think it might be one you enjoy)
