i think the conflicting thing about santana’s situation is like you can’t expect ppl to not do the same to you as what you do to them but then outing somebody is not the way to go when somebody’s doing that kind of thing to you just bc of how the serious the consequences can be for the person you are outing ESPECIALLY if they are a teenager living with their parents. Parents have even 💀 their kids that they find out are queer and harmed them so finn was out of line for that and i think with this storyline continuing i’ll go further into this once we get there. Finn also got on my nerves here. i love him but 🤦‍♀️. Like i said it’s one thing if somebody finally told santana how they feel about her the way she does to others and it’s not that she also hasn’t crossed that line but i think it’s the fact that what was said wasn’t just a comment that can be left at school and it got out to her family and literally everybody that makes it different.

I really like how they integrated the west side story soundtrack into the story in the first time. You have to watch West Side Story at some point, it’s a classic! There’s the original from the 60s and the remake from a few years ago.

Mash Up is so iconic in the glee fandom…such a great episode and the music…the “rumour has it/someone like you” cover still has me in chokehold all these years later. Naya should have gotten award noms this episode.

rumour has it/someone like you is such a legendary glee performance and naya’s acting in it is superb…also i agree with your whole opinion on the finn/santana outing situation so much of the fandom villainize finn for it but i think it’s more nuanced than that not to mention that every single character in glee has done something evil and/or problematic as it is literally glee also fun fact naya actually slapped cory in the face 😭

2 FANTASTIC episodes here! Sebastian is like the devil, but I enjoy him a lot. He's played by Grant Gustin, I don't know if you recognized him, but he plays The Flash on the CW! I'm somewhat of a minority in that I don't fully blame Finn either for Santana being outed. Santana didn't deserve it (she deserves punishment for being a legit bully to Finn, but not like this), but I wouldn't say it was 100% FInn's fault. Should he have said it so LOUD in that hallway? Absolutely not. But at the end of the day he was trying to say something that he knew would hurt Santana and it was unfortunate that it was overheard and passed around like it was. The fandom kinda acts like Finn is the devil incarnate for this (which is a little valid when you consider his history of treating the LGBTQ+ community - Kurt and F-Slur Gate), but I think that's unfair. I would understand the hate he gets for this a little more if he intentionally outed her to the whole school just to get back at her, but I just don't think that was his intention. Naya Rivera was acting her ass off though! She's amazing and that Adele mashup is SO famous like that's a Glee Cover Hall of Famer...it's amazing. Season 3 is peak DRAMA I love it.

idk people love to defend finn a lot in that situation but I don't think outing someone is ever okay in literally any scenerio. Santana can be mean and a bitch sure but to out someone is genuienly cruel and evil ESPECIALLY in that town. Finn knows first hand how cruel everyone was to Kurt. Nobody ever outed Karofsky even though he was equally as, if not more, awful. The same grace should have been given to Santana. I don't think its as nuanced as everyone pretends it is.

fun fact for the santana/finn slap: cory had no clue it was gonna happen, eric (the director) told naya to just go for it in the middle of their lines so they could get genuine shock on cory's face. also kevin (artie) was behind cory mouthing to naya 'do it. slap the shit out of him' lmao such an instigator.

I will never be not even 1% on Finn's side on this outing Santana story. I don't care how much of a bully Santana have been, the fact that he used her sexuality as a weapon against her is more than enough for me to stand against him or any of his actions. Kurt went through hell and back with Karofsky and never considered doing the same thing, not for a single second. Even when Santana "blackmailed" Karofsky it was never using his decision to not come out against him because a straight person could never understand what that entails.

i have to echo what everyone else said about rumor has it/ someone like you being one of the best mashups in the entire show. Naya and Amber killed it. The Finn stuff is a hard one, because she is vicious to him all the time, constantly calling him fat and ugly, and we know he's already very insecure about that, and it is horrible and should not be downplayed. And while i think he would be justified to call her out and give back a dose of her own medicine, no one, no matter what should ever be outed. Not only can it be traumatizing, it can even be dangerous, especially when he knows how conservative this town is. It doesn't matter that he believes everyone in the school already knows. As the episode shows it only takes one wrong person finding out and it can destroy someone's life. It can also put them in actual life-threatening risk. Finn was just trying to hurt her in the only area of her life that she seems to be vulnerable, and he didn't consider the consequences of his actions. With the Kurt/Blaine story, I appreciate that the show depicts more than one way to be gay. While Kurt may act and dress flamboyantly, he seems like he would rather stay at home on the weekend to watch his favorite musical, and Blaine seems to enjoy being more outgoing. And there's nothing wrong with either. I really like that they also communicate when they have issues. I really hate the Puck side of the Shelby situation because it's just so gross. It would be one thing if they were trying to explore how this is his idea of how he can be a dad to his daughter, and also having a crush on her, but her being so obviously also into this flirtation they have going on makes my skin crawl. And as far as the Quinn side is concerned, someone needs to put that girl in therapy. She's been through so much turmoil and change in a very short amount of time and no one is really addressing it in a healthy way. Like WIll kicked her out of glee club earlier this season and only let her back in because she started presenting in a way that he deemed acceptable. Like she dyed her hair and suddenly everyone forgot the girl was having a downward spiral like a month ago. The Sue stuff is so insane to me. The fact that it's not even parody anymore, and that's just how politicians speak now.
