I used to love this show when it was new, and I think I’ve watched all the way up to season 6, I don’t remember if I have seen season 7 , and I know I haven’t seen the last one because I was told how it ended and I hated it lol but I figured I could just rewatch GoT with you and then see what I think of the last season myself!

Yeah so I haven’t watched Euphoria yet, but GoT is notorious for its “s-exposition,” especially in season one. A lot of unnecessary nudity, a lot of rape, etc. Unfortunate that it turns so many people off right away because the character development, political intrigue, etc is so good without all that. HBO, man 🤷🏻‍♀️ Khal Drogo is an interesting one, can’t wait to see how you feel about the next few episodes!

I didn’t know you’d be watching this (or Euphoria!) until you posted about it the other day, and I am so excited to go on these journeys with you. I upgraded tiers to see these reactions 😆 I’m sure many patrons have already informed you, but both shows definitely do not hold back or slow down with the sex/nudity, and also GoT with the violence, so be prepared, for sure! Thank you so much for taking the time to watch both of these shows, I really hope and do believe you will enjoy them! 🤍 P.S. for sure keep neat notes for GoT until you’ve gotten names/families/locations/rules down…you’ve barely gotten half of them now 😆

Also, when bastards are born in different regions they are given very general ser names. For example, all of the bastards born in the north have the last name “snow.” Which is why his name is Jon Snow instead of Jon Stark.

A tip is not to assume whether or not you love a character. they are all very complex and you will understand that there is no good guy or bad guy in this series with the exception of a very few. Peoples and families have their own cultures. I know this is pretty weird and I agree it's super uncomfortable to watch some things but like I said, the historical and social complexity in GOT is huge. You will probably think differently from all the characters as the story progresses. I'm very excited!!

If you have some time, you need to take a look at the first book. The wedding night of Khal and Danerys is portrayed very differently. I don't know why they made that particular choice for the show.

Excited to rewatch this with you, because I think I never made it past season 4. During my first season, I picked up a copy of the first novel, A Game of Thrones (bc I intended to read each novel and then watch that part of the series until the show went its own way). The book had a map that I frequently referred to, as well as short descriptions of the different houses and families in the back. It is so cool that you're taking your own notes though! Thank you for taking the time to record , edit, and share with us! (Also highly recommend the LOTR trilogy. They're amazing.)

True. I got turned off by both shows bc of the excessive nudity, and on GoT, some scenes got too gore-y for me. Never made it past s1e2, but i guess i cant not watch it now. 😅

just a few things I think you missed from the first episodes: Khaleesi is Daenerys Targaryen! Basically her father Aerys was the king and he was murdered by Jamie Lannister (the pretty brother!) and then Robert Baratheon became king. Daenerys (Khaleesi is a title given to the wife of a Dothraki warlord) and her brother Viserys want to go back to King's Landing and reclaim the throne that is technically theirs by right (this is 0,000001% of the plot and I don't plan on telling a lot, but I just wanted to mentioned it since you said we hadn't met Daenerys yet!)

I don't know if someone's mentioned this already, but the opening credits show all the places that will be shown in that episode on a map, so it's pretty cool and changes from episode to episode

It’s really not one you can let your mind wander off with you really need to pay attention lol. one of my fav things about watching with you is you making up names for the characters like triple H, aquaman, Croco for Drogo, and Lyrion for Tyrion. They’re seriously the best, probably bc i do that too sometimes. I really try to learn character’s names, but sometimes there’s just too many of them lol
