This is a poll to select a movie I'll react to to celebrate Asian American & Pacific Islander Heritage Month! Next month's choices will be based around Pride month. Vote as much as you'd like!! If its not on here & it's well known I've likely seen it (Life of Pi, for example)

evelyn🌷

I’ve been wanting you to see Crazy Rich Asians since Valentine’s Day 😭 🤞

Vicki

Turning Red and CRA !!!!!

Cat

Slumdog millionaire is one of my favorites ever !! hope it gets voted

Prem Parekh

As an Indian, I kind of just want to put this out there. Slumdog Millionaire has some good qualities, but it's such a backwards stereotypical look at India. It is a nice one time watch, but if you are interested in incredible Indian movies, I would love to suggest some!

Makenna

omggg big hero six!! 🥺🥺 haven’t seen it in so long and i know you would love it

Ophelia

Not a movie, but I have a great suggestion for AAPI month for an artist. Her name is TonyaJae, and she is an LGBTQ+ singer-songwriter from Guam, a Marianas island, but she is currently based in San Diego. I love her song “Leave the House”! It also recently won Best Pop Song at the 2021 San Diego Music Awards! Her EP Sweet Talk is also really good! It would be awesome to see someone from my island become more well-known on the mainland! I feel like sometimes Pacific Islanders aren’t as recognized and I rarely see any representation besides stereotypes, like "tough Samoan men" or "chill Hawaiian people". I would love for you to check her out!

Once it is out of theaters: everything everywhere all at once!!!

Ayda Lucero Fleck

TURNING RED definitely — so good on so many levels, relationships (friends, mother/daughter/aunties, dads/daughters), informative, hilarious ➕BOY BAND‼️Some swear one of boyband is JIMIN❣️😆

Ayda Lucero Fleck

ALSO ❣️👉everything everywhere all at once!!!👈❣️

LondonNicole

Big Hero 6 is actually iconic. I took wayyyy too long to watch it but when I finally did, I loved it!

labyrinthpeaches

This is such a great idea, I do love Big Hero 6!

Rosie ♥︎

Crazy rich Asians and big hero 6 YES!!

Yeontan™️

the director of the movie confirmed that „tae young“ was indeed inspired by „bts“ but he obviously looks like jimin lmao. she said all the members of this group are inspired by different boy groups. SUCH a fun movie overall im obsessed with the animation is so gorgeous!!

ann

I NEED THE CRAZY RICH ASIANS REACTION!!

JT

Crazy Rich Asians!! Such an amazing movie!

Ivan Lee

"Wedding Banquet" this is an older one so more obscure but it is both serious and humorous and has some insights into Chinese culture related to family and sexuality. It is also located in NYC.

Vanessa

Yes!! crazy rich asians needs to win the poll this time around, also the farewell is one of my favourite ever films, but its a VERY hard watch, lots of tears

chimelle6

Parasite is such an amazing film dripping with symbolism at every turn!
