Uyuna and Samyu (Patreon)

Been thinking a lot about Samyu's upbringing, and while I would rather draw the idea in mind in a short sketch-like comic, I also just wanted to draw something quick and cute anyways.

His family is of the Island Lions, but ended up living among the Volcanic Lions. They served the Mandagora family by providing medicines and remedies. Sametya and Uyuna were the village herbalists and well respected among the tribe, but most notably, they were recognized for their unwavering love and adoration for one another.

Uyuna mysteriously became ill and died about 10 years after the birth of their son, Samyu. The young lion aspired to be like both of his parents, but mostly his mother. His father became obsessed with his work, which left less time to spend with his son. Samyu tried to learn the family craft, but was often denied by Sametya. After Samyu was old enough to begin learning how to properly use gemstones and create potions, his quickly father fell ill and died, leaving behind his studies to his son.
